PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I used Plus for the free Marvel pinball last month and downloaded all the extra tables on sale for $1.50 each and became addicted to the game. Got the Tomb Raider game too, but eh, that's not doing it for me. Then got a message to get Daytona for $5 and grabbed that. Plus is much cooler now than it was about 6 months or so ago.
 
Does PSN+ ever get price discounts for the service like XBL does? Aside from the Target pricing error last year.

Also I'd like to get + but don't currently have a ps3 but will soon. Is there anyway I can add these game to the ps3 download list like on the pc so that when I do get a ps3 they're available.

Sometimes they do "Buy 12 months get 15"-like promotions.
 
I'm seriously considering buying a subscription to PS+. The free games they've been giving away the past few months have been really good. Tomb Raider, Marvel Pinball, BTTF, etc. Plus, cloud saving would be so useful.

The only way to do it would be to have someone else do it for you by setting up your account on their PS3.
 
I absolutely love PS+ since I have signed up back in November! Paid $50 and have gotten enough free games to make up for the price twice over.
 
I just signed up today. I have been thinking about it for a while. The freebies this month are just so much for me to pass up. Hope the freebies are this good every month.
 
Not that I'm complaining too much since it's likely an awful game, but did anyone else notice that Inferno Pool didn't go up for free like the list said it would?

Don't forget to turn on your Automatic Downloads.

I just noticed it downloaded the latest Skyrim Patch and Tester 3 episode 1 by itself. (feels good to be part of the master race)
 
I'm currently on a 3 month trial for plus. I haven't tried the cloud saves yet, as I guess I'm leary of trusting my save files to the cloud.

Can someone share their experiences with cloud saves? Is it seamless, or does it take slower sometimes? I've got two consoles, so I would probably get some use out of this feature.

I have mine backup at 4am everyday. It just creates a copy of the save file on the cloud server. The original file is left on the PS3 hard drive and works like normal.
 
Is there an option to turn on cloud saves for every game you have and not have to do it individually? I didn't turn it on a few games and I just want PSN to do it for everything.
 
I was excited about Far Cry 2 next week until I realized that I had no interest in that game to begin with and I looked up the trophy list and saw a bunch of multiplayer trophies.

Still, I hope they keep up the trend of one PS3 retail disc game per month. Tomb Raider Underworld was a nice surprise.

Eww at the MP trophies. Still, I'm looking forward to FC2 just because I wouldn't ever play it if it wasn't given to me for free. lol. Plus it's supposed to be pretty good, right?

No. The cloud save system is better than nothing, but it's not very good. I had to delete a bunch of saves because I filled up the tiny storage allocation, too. It helps if you think of it only as a system to preserve your current progress in a couple of games from catastrophe, rather than as a comprehensive offsite backup system.

All that said, I wish it had existed when my first PS3 died. I was about 20 hours into a 40 hour game. Even the current lame cloud save system would have been very nice to have.
 
Yeah, 150 MB is ridiculously small. Would work if all games have 100kb-sized savegames, but if you have stuff like Fallout with 10+ MB savegames (and you basically NEED several of them) it fills up so quickly...
I started to delete savegames so that I have only one per game in the cloud, but I should NOT spend my time on managing this shit. btw, will the deleted ones upload again if I start the game again?
I think I will just go back to backing up everything manually on my external HDD from time to time and use the online storage only for copyprotected savegames...
 
would now be the best time to sign up? I've been meaning to do it for a while now...but I don't know if the recent deals people were going crazy about are over.

It's a hit or miss game for people. I for one loved it but it has a couple of big design issues that some don't want to put up with.

For example guard checkpoints are brutal and they can chase you around. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't respawn, but they do.

And then there's the malaria. At completely random times you can keel over with malaria. Your screen will go yellowish and it will blink, and you will fall over. Like I said this can happen at any time even during combat. If you don't have any pills (which run out after a while, need to do side missions to replenish them) it gets worse and worse and will eventually kill you.

But if you can put up with that stuff (like I didn't think malaria bothered me very much, I always had pills) it's a pretty great game in its own right. It has a unique buddy system, great fire and wind effects that you can use tactically, and challenging fights.

I agree it needs to be a lot more like 5gb. But I am happy to have it. Wish I would of had it when my house was robbed.
 
Far cry 2 is the first real freebie I can't take advantage of. I bought the game when it came out so there isn't really much point in downloading it and taking up space on my hard drive.
 
I'd say this is a good sign for us Plus members looking to buy Vita games off PSN

Make sure it's in your download list anyway, you don't actually need to download it.
 
Is PSN+ worth it for the game purchase discounts? The free games during subscription is nice and all, but I'm much more interested in the discounts to game purchases that stay in my account even if I decide to cancel my subscription.

Sure. Depends what they put discounts on obviously. Personally i saved more on discounts in year 1 than i spent on the subscription.
 
So I downloaded the latest Qore (has SF x Tekken picture) and normally from within Qore you can download an extra from the PSN Store, usually a theme. This time, I get a "nothing available" message when I try using the PSN Store from within Qore. Anyone else getting this problem?

Pretty sure the Qore bonuses aren't available with PS+ Qore access.

There may not be anything available. Some episodes dont have extras for PS+ just for paying members of Qore.
