Hi! I'm a PS+ member. Where can I check when is going to expire my subscription? If it ends soon I'll get another year because it sounds that they're going to raise the price soon due to upcoming new services or Vita support.
 
I just re-upped for another year! Super psyched for Monday!!

I even thought about re-upping for two but figured that by then we'll have next gen anyways.

Account Management > Transaction Management > Service List > Playstation Plus > Playstation Plus > Information (Start/End Date)

The only reason I turn on the PS3 these days is Media Sharing...yet all this speculation almost has me convinced to give three months a try.

Anyone got any cheap sources?

As long as you use the same account on both then yes. I have the free minis I got with PS+ on my PS3 loaded up on my Vita also.
 
I just picked up another 3 months as my sub is going to run out this month. Honestly if nothing was announced or being teased for E3 I would have bought a year already.

I'm just paranoid that the new PS+ won't actually be better than the old one :/

Yes

PS+ works differently after the update to account activations

Before November 18th 2011, you could have 5 PS3's activated with your account
If your account was PS+, all 5 PS3 systems can enjoy the goodies

Now activations have dropped to 2 on content purchased/gotten after November 18th, 2011
So the first 2 PS3's to activate the game, those 2 PS3 systems can share the game/content, no more PS3's can share or get the content, need to deactivate one of the PS# that was activated
Anything before November 18th can still be used for 5 PS3's

Only thing to see is if the VITA gets it's own activation or does it cannibalize the share pool of the 2 activations that we have now

No I'm talking about PS+ pool

Not the activation

PS+ is 2 now same as 2 console

I just want to know if that pool gets split to 1 console, 1 portable, or 2 console and 2 portable for PS+

It's the same. I currently have 2 PS3s and 1 Vita using my PS+ content. Sony didn't bother limiting PS+ content further than regular activations.
 
I went ahead and restarted my plus membership for 3 months. Had some bestbuy credit so i got it on the cheap.

I would check but I just sold my old 60GB PS3, and deactivated it, so there was no way me finding it out by myself

Right now have a busted 120GB Slim (eject mechanics = dead), and VITA, both running PS+, was wondering if I get new PS3 how it would work, now I know

I practically paid it off as soon as I got Trine 2. this is just-- I don't understand
 
This would probably be a much better deal if I played my PS3 more than I do. Or if I didn't have a 40gig hard drive. But hey, I bought it!

I guess I'll play Trine 2 now?
 
Just a tip for those who are reaching the 150MB limit for saves.

Grab a USB stick and just slide the games that you're done with on there.
There are games that are copy protected but most of them should be fine.

Though yeah, ideally it would be nice if they raised the limit.

It would be better if some of those fucking idiot developers didn't put a lock on save files period. :/ You can only copy them to the cloud and then there's that bullshit 24 hour download limit that doesn't even function properly because they tell you to wait even if you didn't download it.

Another major improvement would be the ability to copy game data like patches and dlc files to a stick, it's a hassle to download everything again because of the inconsistent PSN download speed.

Anyone serious about backing up was already doing that for years before Plus, and has still been doing that after Plus, including monthly full hard drive backups as well.

In anticipation of the not-so-subtly-hinted-at PSN+ announcement at E3, I just bought a 3 mo PSN+ subscription. I thought I might as well download some May content while it's still time, but except from Max Payne PS2 I seriously have no idea of what most of these free games are. Could anyone give me some advice of what's good to get?

Check the PlayStation + tab in the store. There, you should see an icon that has a gift box in it called Freebies. That's where all the free stuff is.

Yep, my only issue with PS+ is that I had a backlog before PS+, PS+ has made it worse.

But it keeps me from buying games on the day of release. I can't justify getting a game at retail released today unless its a series I absolutely love and must play right away.

I was almost tempted to skip the Motorstorm Apocalypse bundle because I was just getting into the free copy of Shift 2 (which I slept on, actually a good game) I got from PS+.

Trine 2, Shank 2, Swords & Soldiers, Far Cry 2, Awesomenauts, Sonic 2, Shift 2, Inferno Pool, Comix Zone, Sly Cooper, Tomb Raider Underworld, Burn Zombie Burn, Costume Quest, Streets of Rage 2, Stacking, Super Street Fighter Turbo 2, Comet Crash, Crash Bandicoot series, Resident Evil PSONE games, Jet Moto, Medievil, Rally Cross, Oddworld Abe's Oddysee/Abe's Exoddus, Syphon Filer 1, 2 and 3, Final Fantasy V, Silent Hill, Symphony of the Night. b (this is pretty much just off the the top of my head, lots of others I haven't downloaded or deleted later on)

That's just the recent stuff and not including discounts. Betas, DLC discounts. Its a really good service for a family, lots of games for the family without having to buy games all the time. Shouldn't stop you from getting the latest uncharted or even competing game at retail but its a nice in between supplement.
 
Might as well start the download for everything Plus offers for free once it's available, then just cancel the downloads if you want, that way once the deal expires you will have access to download it again later if you want.
 
Damn you guys in the US got Trine 2? I'm jealous.

Hope I didn't made a mistake by choosing + for my (main) EU account rather than the US one.

I think it evens out in the end EU gets some cool thing we didn't, but yeah Trime 2 is great.

Europe got Trine 2 for free back in March but that doesn't help you now.

I feel you. With Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and now Diablo 3 I've spent so much time at the PC my PS3 is starting to gather dust. I'm still using it but mostly for watching movies. I'll continue to pay for PS+ but it just adds to the pile of games I'm not likely to play, kind of like Steam.

download everything. when the time of the current offer is up you will not be able to get the game free unless you have started downloaded it.

By far the best way to take advantage of PS+. I got a 500GB one and I am so happy I did.

Also, as a side note, I have my Ps3 setup with folders that denote what system a game I have on my HDD is for (ps3 retail, ps2, ps1, PSN, etc.) and if they are a free game I got from PS+. And, since I started up my sub in September 2011, I have the following free games.

PS1 - 17 games
PS3 - 4 games
PSN - 28 games
Minis - 15 games
 
Bit off topic sorry, but what's the largest hard drive size that the PS3 is upgradable to? I've seen a few people posting 750GB drives here, and there's also some 1TB laptop drives from a quick search, not sure if those would work though?

On topic, Plus has been seriously amazing value for me since I bought it. Into my second year of subscibing now, and it must have paid for itself at the very least - I've got Trine 2, NFS Shift 2, Sly 1 HD, Max Payne, Stacking, and that's just to name a few.

And both of those features are pretty useless to me. Auto patches would be a lot better if it checked all your games like Steam does instead of just the last 10 games you've played.

I would love auto save uploads. Would make it easier to actually use both of my ps3s
 
Signed up for 3 months due to the pre-E3 hype; got Max Payne (PS2 Classic) for4 free, i was going to re-buy this on the back of MP3, but i'll take a freebie gladly!

Gonna get me some free mini's and there's a few discounted items i'd get, and if things are good over the next few months I have a feeling i'll be renewing!
