PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

This is a lot of platforming, but nothing that sets you back much if you miss or die (shit gets crazy)

Will see how it's going to be further on. I've got a pretty low tolerance on platforming, especially if there's a lot of miss-and-repeat kind of stuff involved, like usually.

I didn't get that far lol

I don't blame you. =)

Stranger's Wrath is fantastic. Well worth the download, a full play through, and even a purchase.

I understand it's different from the older Oddworld games, but the idea behind the games just never clicked with me. I think I'll let it be for now, and maybe download it after I've played the others.

I really wish we could sort that damned list. It's easier for me to find something from that list by just finding the item in the store later. Especially when they re-organized my first PS+ content to the date when my second 15 months started instead of June 29th 2011 like it was originally.

320GB? Fuck, I'm down to 200GB free on my 500GB HDD.

My 500 GB HDD is now full, even after deleting many of the demos etc. that I still had on the system. :(

I don't (want to) delete the game installs + patch&dlc data of the games I own, so after 5+ years of buying games there is quite some stuff...

I agree with the list, blows my mind that it was never changed in all those years.

Is that all games, game data and saves? I don't see the need to keep anything else on the machine. Streaming works just fine.
Yep. There are also plenty of stuff I don't have downloaded from PS+ because I either already had the physical copy or I don't care for the genre. I put them all in my download list but I know I'll never download them.

So yesterday I posted in here that the digital version of LBP2 wouldn't recognize my original LBP2 game data.

Today I fire up the disc version of LBP2, and it recognizes the digital version's data. So I start freaking out. I check my game data folder and my old LBP2 profiles are still there, so I delete the digital version's profile and start up the disc version again. The game starts as if it's the first time I'm playing! What the fuuuuck.

Could there possibly some sort of version mismatch error? When I started up the disc version, it had to optimize a bunch of patches downloaded over time by the auto-downloader, and if the old profiles weren't recognized and updated, could they no longer work with the updated version of LBP2? Is there anything I can do about this?

I don't wanna start all that over again. ;_;

should have backed up your profile.

Someone told me that LBP2's save isn't compatible between the digital and physical version

edit: I don't know how my post helps anything cause I'm confused

should have backed up your profile.

But see, they're still there! Just not accessible in game for some reason, and I think what I would've had to do to back them up (start the game and have the patches installed) would've made backing them up unnecessary.

That's what I had assumed yesterday, but today the disc version is using the digital version's data instead of accessing its own.

Unless they fixed it in a patch, and that's why I'm having this issue: because the old game data doesn't work with the fully patched or digital versions of the game or something.

This has probably been covered before (and the topic was mildly talked about in the OP, but not clear enough for me), but my question is that if I start a download of a free game (for instance infamous 2 15 GB) and cancel it, will I be able to download it again from the download list even after it is not offered for free anymore? I ask this because my current connection is lousy (averages around 0.60 Mbps download), but when I head back to school, it will be better.

Alternatively I might just start the downloads of all the games and just keep them paused for a while (while regularly unpausing them when possible).

Yes, just "purchase" the game (for free with your plus account) and you'll go to a download page. You can cancel out then. You'll see a red shopping bag on the store game icon which means you can click on it anytime in the future and download it. Or just go to your download list and find the game.

I thought so, just wanted confirmation. Thanks.

Is mad riders free for psn plus. Comes up as free on the ads in PSN store, but when you click through it says $15.95 (aus). Any thoughts?

Noticed this last night too. Could only get the trial, the full game unlock was still showing as $15.95.

Is it free in the EU store?

My favorite "free" game so far has been Sideway. Shame this game got lost in the shuffle and people ignored it. I had no clue it had even released actually but remember seeing a trailer a while ago.

Got PS+ for 30 bucks on eBay :P

I'm downloading LBP2 right now.. is there a limit on the number of the 12 new games you can download? Can I download all of them? Also, what's the Playstation Plus icon above the PSN Store icon supposed to do? My download is so very slow in this house.. It uses the full connection in my Mom's house, but not in this one :\ Can someone post the link to the thread with the proxy trick to get a faster download?

You can download them all without limit (as long as your subsciption goes).

I downloaded Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter, Chime, Oddworld and Warhammer. I have tried 'em all

Motorstorm Apocalypse looks really but is also really hectic. I can see it becoming kind of annoying to play after a while.

Virtua Fighter is worse than I imagined. I don't really play fighting games, all other fighters I have played shit on VF.

Oddworld seems alright. Jumping feels way too loose and floaty and voice acting is horribad. Don't know if I'll play this through.

Warhammer is great! Combat is excellent and meaty. Multiplayer feels very different from ther TPS MP shooters. This maybe best of the bunch, along with chime.

Chime is really addicting and colourful. Good music and nice tetris-like gameplay.

It took only 45 minutes to install these games. Really fast.

I don't get all the LBP2 issues, simply load up the disk version - backup your profile - load up the digital version - import your profile.

Job done.

Damn I left my playstation on all night to download Darksiders and LBP2, Darksiders has stopped randomly at 19% and LBP2 at 30%, it is saying LBP2 is downloading now, but it isn't shifting from 1769 mb.

edit: decided to delete them and start over, will they still download in the background if I played skyrim

So I did this and checked to see what speeds I was getting on PS3 using the connection checker, it said it was maxing out my connection, but the download still took over 12 hours.

I just don't understand it, it was a wired connection, no one else was using it (I was at work, GF was asleep), so either I was very unlucky or this method is hit and miss.

:(

You could always pause the download for a few seconds if it's going really slow. When you resume it, it'll most likely connect you to another server and the downloads should speed up. My downloads are about twice as fast on PSN compared to Xbox Live. Neither service maxes out my connection.

I can only do this if I'm at home, I tend to set up big downloads before I head off to work as I know no-one will be using the connection/won't be using it for anything too big beyond some browsing/checking emails.

I do have the next few days off though, so I'll try this so thanks for the tip.

It's a strange thing, XBL always maxes out my connection. For example, I was able to download both Reach and Crysis 2 in a few hours a few weeks ago, combined they are about 3-4gb smaller than I2 but took half the time.

not looking good for my hard drive, it's that or my ps3 itself is dying which would be worse :-s

it froze overnight while downloading (had selected the shutdown when finished downloading option)

I've been wondering what will happen with PS+ when the PS4 comes along. I think it all depends on whether it has BC for PS3 games or not - if it does, they should definitely keep Plus going. If it doesn't, I'm not sure how they could keep it, at least in the first few months, which usually don't see many game releases for new consoles.

Hopefully it'll include PS3 BC and then Plus can keep going, really liking the service up to now.

I spend lastnight deleting stuff off my two PS3s (60gb & 80gb) in prep for signing up for PSN+ this weekend. My 60gb now has close to 25gb free and the 80gb is at 45gb free.

The blu ray lazer is broke on my 80gb so having the games directly on the HDD will work out better.

My favorite "free" game so far has been Sideway. Shame this game got lost in the shuffle and people ignored it. I had no clue it had even released actually but remember seeing a trailer a while ago.

That's the only game out of all the free games that I bought beforehand and I enjoyed it all the way through.

I added a bunch of games last night and expected to be able to play them today. Only one downloaded...is there some setting I have set wrong?

How does Sony profit from this? Can somebody explain? Wouldn't this result in a loss of sales?

Well if I had to guess, the same way Valve profits from Steam sales.

My PS3 is taking about 2 hours to install some of the bigger games (7+GB)

Is this normal or is my console already dead?

Do you have background downloads going? Try pausing them and making sure the PS3 isn't downloading anything when you install a game.

You pay for PSN+ and keep paying if you want to play the games.

I just wonder what kind of deal has to be made to get a new game like VF5 onto the service. Do they still count sales at that point? Does Sony pay Sega for each plus user that downloads it?

yeah definitely seems to have been my hard drive, put the original 250GB back in my PS3 and after updating the firmware I've started redownloading stuff and it's going MUCH faster

It seems like they are losing money with us paying $50 and getting all this for free. I've been wondering how they're making money too....I just don't see it

I'll tell everyone upfront: super chime deluxe is a great game, but if you are not a puzzle gamer get ready to have your lunch handed to you. I managed to get all of the trophies (except the co-op trophy FOREVER ALONE) but I would rank them as even harder than wipeout hd (which I also have a platinum in) . Unless you can really hang or dedicate yourself to the game mechanics, youll have another game making your trophy profile look unimpressive. Still an amazing game if you want to fuck around but yeah, trophies T_T

Yeah with the amount I play my PS3, the free games might be all I need to play on it. I definitely don't feel any urge to buy older games now, knowing they might end up being free in a month or two.

Need to look at it from the other way around. Consider the free PS+ games as an efficient marketing expense. Give away VF5 now, grow the market and sell lots of copies of VF6.

Like Saints Row 2? They hope you will be off to buy 3.

I doubt it costs Sony much if anything to add these games to plus.
