"You can play these great PS1 Classics on your PSP!"

Something is very wrong with this.
No kidding. As a prospective Vita owner it'd be nice to have the PS1 support ASAP.

I'm in the EU, so the US update doesn't apply to me, but guys : get Malicious. It's a really good PSN title especially w/20% off.

Well, the initial offering was pretty good, but now I'm thinking my Plus subscription will probably run out before they add anything else I want to play.

Yep, I was thinking of becoming a regular but at this rate I'm not going to be renewing my subscription much. Just here and there when something of interest pops up or accumulates.

Tomorrow's EU update is adding SCEA content. Anyone got opinions on Lara Croft and Saints Row 2? I was hoping if anything was going to be copied from SCEA it would be Pac-Man. Also in the comments Ross said that he would hint next months game on twitter, anyone know the account?

Both are great games.

Lara Croft is excellent, an incredibly fun co-op experience. SR2 is pretty good, I liked SR3 better but you'll find people who prefer 2.

Sorry that I couldn't find a good thread to ask this question and really didn't want to make a new one.

I'm having trouble with region-locked DLC.

I bought Dragon's Dogma here in Japan (Japan version), and DLC off the US store. I see it's not working - no big loss it was only $1.

But I would really like to be able to buy some DLC. The problem that I'm running into is that I can't move my save file over to my second account with a Japanese PSN log-in, because the saves are account-locked. I've put some 20 hours into this game already and I really, really don't want to start over just for some DLC access.

If I log into my Japan account, download the DLC from the Japanese PSN, then log back over to my US account, will I be able to access that DLC? Does this fall under the same rules as game sharing (limit two PS3s I believe)?

Edit: this is a pretty general "PSN" question and not specific to Dragon's Dogma (or is it? :P) so I'm asking here.

You need to buy DLC from the same version as the disc*. It will be playable from all your local accounts. That should solve your problem.

* There are like a handful of exceptions, but in generally this is true.

Edit: PSN accounts are restricted to two physical machines. It doesn't matter how many accounts you have on that system.

Yes, it should work. The only type of DLC that doesn't work across multiple accounts on the same system is online DLC that unlocks by tying itself to your account as a service (Bad Company 2 VIP pass, DC Universe Online DLC, SOCOM 4 Pro pass, etc..). I believe Dragons Dogma uses 100kb unlock keys that you download so you should be able to use it on any account on the same system.

No it won't use 2 game activation slots. Game activation slots are tied to systems, not system accounts.

Wario64 posted the new US update in the monthly PS+ thread.

I assume Pranay_ will be posting an August 2012 thread soonish.

Eh? My brother told me that Telltale had confirmed that there'd be no imminent price drop for the Walking Dead, as it'd be unfair to the people who bought it on release. I'm not bothered either way as I fully intend to play them all eventually, and I'm not sure it'll be free on UK PSN+. If it was, I'd be happy as a man who thought that a cat had done its business on his pie, only to find out that it was a particularly large blueberry

Meh. Two episodes of a five episode game. :/ I suppose it was unrealistic to expect them to have retail games added every month. I don't think I'll be resubbing PS+.

They probably couldn't get developers/publishers to sign off on multiple retail games or maybe the money they were asking was simply too much.

The surprising thing is is that SCEE keeps dropping bombs with their line up, recently added Human Rev and later in August they'll be adding the brand new Retro/Grade to the line up whereas SCEA delivers, well...a glorified demo.

Wait, do we get Retro grade free on eu ps+ next month?

When they relaunched PS+ the SCEE guy said that occasionally there would be extra giveaways and the first one would be Retro/Grade. I'm not sure whether they have confirmed that again recently but there's a good chance it will be.

I hope so, game looks cool but its releasing at the 22nd.

Guess I will try Walking Dead, not that thrilled about it, not into zombie games anymore, really got into the frist 4 resident evil games but the new ones just bore me, they seem more popular than ever though.

So I have a question. If I download these two WD episodes, then say my PS + subscription runs out this month, does that mean I'm going to have to renew it, or redownload the first episode again to play future episodes? (episodes past 1 are DLC, not seperate games)

not quite sure what you mean, but you can only play the games while you are a member...eg if you are not a member for 6mths then re-sub you can then play the games again (or re-download if you deleted them off the HDD)

Yeah you'll be forced to have a subscription for the rest since AFAIK you can't purchase things you picked up for free through plus.

You're wrong. If you got it through plus you can't buy it as long as the subscription is active. Once your subscription lapses though, anything you downloaded from plus, you can purchase. Unfortunately this is never when a good sale is around LOL

He's asking if he'll be able to buy and play Ep 3 - 5 of The Walking Dead after his sub runs out without resubbing/purchasing Ep 1.

I believe he'll need to resub/purchase Ep 1. The standalone Ep 2 requires Ep 1 to play and since he won't be able to play Ep 1 when his sub expires, he's gonna have to either buy it or resub.

That kind of sucks...not sure if it's worth it to play through on here then. I have 1200 MSP points, so I could get three episodes on there...I don't know, I'll definitely play through these first though for free.

Forgive my stupidity but I'm new to Playstation Plus. Do I have to be connected to the internet to play the free games I download through playstation plus?

About the need to be connected to play the free games.....are you guys sure about that?

I took my PS3 to a friend's house and when we tried to play Virtua Fighter 5 it said the content had expired and we couldn't play. Two hours later when I was at home again, I tried it and it was working fine. I wasn't connected to the net at his place, but I was at mine.

Hmm...

If the content has expired you would need to connect up to refresh the licence (confirm your subscription is still active), but as long as you're within the expiration you should be fine. You can check in most cases by highlighting the game and hitting triangle to bring up the info for it.

I've played my free games when I had no internet access plenty of times

Been considering it for a while and finally caved in and picked up a three month subscription to Plus this morning to take advantage of the free games on offer.

Bit gutted I missed out on Deus Ex: HR but, for the price a month, it seemed stupid not to take advantage. Left everything downloading and looking forward to returning home to a wealth of content this evening. Hoping that the next free game is one I haven't already picked up.
