Yea I think that's the case for me too. That's like $40 of real free content that we get to keep, ignoring all other stuff.

Me like these screw ups.
 
Just signed up for Plus and I cannot believe how great a deal this is. The discounts are amazing and I've already almost saved as much money as I spent on the membership. I wish Xbox would do this type of thing as well.

I've always felt that even though it's peer-to-peer the value of quality and guaranteed services over the years that Xbox Live membership provides more than justifies the cost (great for the price, even better if it was free, that was my thinking.) Even so, it is pretty surprising that at this juncture MS is charging as much as it does for Xbox Live just to play online, they should be doing so much more to back the service for its customers these days.
 
Glad to see I haven't completely missed my chance to get Stacking. It may sound sad, but the one week lead on the MK demo was my tipping point :P

You download a special theme for each game to "vote" for it. You can't see how many votes its gotten but you can see how many people have given a rating for that theme. When I voted the leaders (to the best of my recollection) were:

50% off that lot would be excellent. I'd hit up Castle Crashers and Joe Danger day one. Already have GoW and MPSMP.
 
I've got a question about PS+. If I get an account for 90days and get Sonic The Hedgehog for free. Will I still be able to play that game when PS+ expires?

No, you can only play it as long as you have Plus subscription

If its free, it expires and you won't be able to play it again. Some free games do not expire (Stacking).

Weren't the gamers choice titles already going to be heavily discounted? I can't imagine that they'll be giving us an additional 50% off...so this seems like early access to said sales.

I'm seriously tempted to get a PS+ sub now, just for the MK demo, half price MAG DLC pack, and free (apparently forever) Stacking. $3 PSOne imports is nice too.

Stacking is coming down Tuesday as a free bonus, so you'll need to sign up before then and download it if you want to get that game.


As for the update listed, am I mistaken or do PSN+ members already have MAG and Prince of Persia available as free trials? I'm quite positive I've had a MAG trial for quite some time.


edit: Ah, looks like the MAG trial is a "full game trial" for an hour. Which is far less than what was available in the old trial, which was unlimited play up to level 8. I feel like I've gotten a good deal out of the subscription, but these hour long trials are pretty useless. Most early games these days are loaded with unending tutorials and bullshit.

Anyways, as a proud new PS3 owner, I have to say, this Playstation Plus service has got to be the biggest joke I have ever seen. I would consider myself the biggest tool on the planet if I ever subscribed to this.

if it's not free then what do you call it? sure we have to pay Sony for these discount and 'free rental' games. but the title he mentioned stays with you when he stop plus subscription. that's a real $40 value out of the $50 he pay for 15 months subs.

add in any money he save during discount. he get back more than his initial investment worth.

lets see 15 month subscription was $50

in the past ~9 months since it started they have given away over $200 worth of stuff not to mention everything that's gone on sale and you could buy at discount

You're right, the games weren't free.

I paid $50, which means out of the 37 games I've downloaded (counting 5 eps of Same and Max as ONE game), I paid ~$1.35 cents for each of them. I believe when this happens on Steam, it's called "a steal". Still applies here.

Sam and Max - AFW.
Stacking - AFW.
Sonic - AFW.
Lead and Gold - Pretty Sweet
20 Minis - Great fun on my PSP between classes
Sackboys Prehistoric Moves - Got it early free, granted I got LBP2, but this was a great hold over.
Mushroom Wars - Fantastic game I would have never played. Lots of fun.
Digger HD - Decent, for $1.35, I can't complain.
10 PS1 games - Decent, though I am loving revisiting the Spyro series on my PSP.

Pretty sure you're "analysis" of PlayStation Plus is a bit off ;)

Nope, you still hate the service due to ignorance just like Home gets shit. Yea it might not cater to you but to those who use it, it's useful and Sony gets revenue from them too. Win win.

I got 2 titles which equal $40 of content that I get to keep. And I payed $50 for 15 months of service. You cannot spin this without sounding like a moron.

Those other exclusive discounts also help and add up. It's impossible to spin any of the facts.

Please keep in mind this is an optional service and online remains free to every user. Spinning PSN+ in a bad light is just making you the tool.

PS: all the minis/PS1/PSP discounts from PSN+ will benefit future NGP users. The more content we get makes it easier purchase down the rode and shows the benefits of the service. Atleast for me, that's another plus.
 
I'm just glad I jumped on Plus when Stacking was free. A $15 game for free (and a very good game at that) pretty much got all my value back for my 3 month subscription (heck if you throw in free Digger I did get all my value) so anything from here on is just a bonus. Free Sonic was my first freebie above that and what can I say, it's free Sonic..I love it. It's true that I won't be able to play Sonic after my sub runs out, but imo as long as I 100% any game before the period runs out, I'm good to go. The only thing that will make me sub past these first 3 months though is the cloud saving..
 
I jumped on the 12 + 3 months subscription after seeing Stacking + Sonic
+ early Mortal Kombat demo
. I'm happy so far, hope the awesome content keeps coming.
 
I am very interested in + now. Is the early MK demo coming to EU as well? I am still a bit confused about the releases and so on.
