PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Seems you can get 1 Year PS Plus cards at Target for $14.39 each due to a misprint in their national ad (supposed to be for 3 months but they put a picture of a 1 year card). Just have to show them the ad at the register and they honor it according to Slickdeals members.

can't see this lasting long though.

Thanks to Target, I'm gonna be a PS+ member!

I guess I should activate it now so I can get the Crash games for free and Where is my heart

I was a day 1 subscriber back in June 2010 and it expires on December 8.

Thing is, I had to turn off Auto renewal since I don't have money on that credit card.

Can you buy the 1 year package in the PS Store and it will add a year on to what you have currently? Or will it create a new subscription/Services List item altogether?
It has the "blue bag" icon and is letting me purchase, but I'm not sure if it stacks on top of my current subscription or will create a new one

I'm worried because:
A- What if in the future (like 360 does) you get a "total timee subscribed" slapped on your profile and it starts the timer over again if I don't auto-renew the initial subscription
B- If the Free content/games will still work if I buy a separate package on top of this one, worried if it gives a new "subscriber ID" or something that won't work with your past subscription freebies

Prepare for having more free PSX and PS Mini games than you can ever have time to play. I already have a backlog of every Resident Evil, Crash and bunch of Minis. I kind of wish they would throw in more PSN games (trophies please)

Sony gives PS Plus subscribers a free game every two days - Offer begins today with Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-12-01-sony-gives-ps-plus-subscribers-a-free-game-every-two-days

"Sony is giving PlayStation Plus subscribers a free game every two days.

The offer, which starts today, allows subscribers to download one game from the PlayStation Store for free every two days. This includes eight PSN games, two minis, and two PSone Classics. The first free game is Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

The 12 games have all been available in Plus over the last 18 months. Sony said they're perfect for new subscribers or those who have joined recently.

Sony advised checking the PlayStation Store to see which games are added to the offer - and said to download them before they're gone. Sonic will be available to download for free until 3rd December, when a new game will be available.

"Remember, all these are added extras to this month's content - as a PlayStation Plus subscriber you can still expect the same level of great content during December 2011, as well as enjoying this superb offer, which is perfect for filling gaps in your collection if you're a late-comer to Plus, or even better if you've never been a subscriber before," Sony's Ross McGrath wrote on the EU PlayStation Blog."

If it's only about games what were on PS+ offers since the last 18 months, I'm not interested. I'm a US PS+ member anyway (despite living in EU), since March or April.

In the blog, they say that around midway through, there will be a game for free that hasn´t been for free before (but is has been on Plus in some other form)..

it appears they annonched the 12 games by accident...

the games are these:

Sonic 2
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix
Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse
Plants VS Zombies
Medievil
Duels of the Planeswalkers 2011
Destruction Derby
Critter Crunch
Crash Commando
The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus
A Space Shooter for 2 bucks
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars

I don't really know if this superior race thing hurts or benefits Sony, I rarely buy anything that's not heavily discounted for PSN+, or free.

On the other hand, they do get my $50.

Terribad list.
I already have most of them :/

how supported are the cloud saves? Do most new games support it?

Just that my main PSN account that I play on is a US one, and I'm in the UK. These days I buy most games through the UK PSN as getting US cards is a bit of a pain and costs more.

Don't suppose I can subscribe on my UK PSN account and back up saves from my US one? So I'd have to get $50 of cards to buy it?

I think all games' saves work. It simply uploads them to the cloud when it syncs everything else. I don't know if there are cross region issues though.

I don't think the Plus what in the title is warranted anymore. I was looking at all the shit I have in folders last night and I don't think I've paid for more than 1/3 of it. The PSX games are always a nice treat.

What is this list for?

I've currently got the free month of PS+. I'm curious how some of this works.

What are the rules regarding which games you get forever, and which ones are only accessible while you're a paying subscriber?

Ive enjoyed bein a subscriber as well, bought alot of games from plus sales too. Itd pretty darn cool if they added more awesome to the ps2 section an gave those out for free once in a while.

Completely free games: You have access to them as long as you're a PS+ subscriber.
Discounted games: Yours to keep forever.

iirc

Anything free other than games is yours forever.

Free games are most of the times subscription based, BUT there are a few exceptions that end up being yours to keep.

Any game that you have to pay for is yours forever.

Is that for all regions or just europe? And now many of those games weren't free before? I think I don't have like medieval and sonic from that list and that's it. :/

AFAIK, all PSN subs will stack. The EU stores were the only ones that had a weird system that wouldn't let you stack subs, but they fixed it earlier this year.

If you want Playstation Plus, I'd recommend either finding a Gaffer who can sell it to you for cheap (from the Target misprint) or going on Ebay. They're currently ~$27 on Ebay compared to $50 on Playstation.com

SCEA still hasn't updated their blog yet to what the December offers will be on Plus.

Maybe Sega will finally get off their ass and continue the PSN Vintage collection XBLA port...collection with Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles?
Seriously...did they...forget about them?

Kind of underwhelmed by PS+ so far, I haven't gotten anything for free that's not on XBLA (I got PvZ and Costume Quest already over there) and a bunch of PSX and PS Mini games. The sales are very similar to DoTW sales on XBL, 20% off etc not huge. Da Blob 2 for $10 (50% off) right now is kind of tempting, that's an example of something that does get me itching to buy.

Oh I guess Burn Burn Zombie or whatever was pretty fun. I'm just feeling kind of super jealous about the Target deal, at $19 it's of course a much different perspective.

Where is my heart was a pleasant surprise. There are definitely some jewels hidden in the Minis library. I think Doodle Fit is also currently available and is a good time waster. Also check out I Must Run! and Flying Hamster. (hopefully they'll release those so you can pick them up for free.)

Ergh, pretty apalling list. I already nearly all of them.

How exactly do the "subscription" games work? They're only offered for a week. If I download one, then erase it locally, if I try to download it again on the same PS3 with the same Plus account, will I have to pay? (Meaning I erase it and try to re-download it after the week it is offered free).

Once something is in your download list so you can redownload it anytime for free.

No. You can download it the number of times you want as long as your sub is active.

No, they're in your download list forever. Pretty certain you just can't play them after downloading unless your PS+ subscription is active.
