UK Gafers- I'm not sure if this is recent, but HMV are selling 1 year PS+ subs for £30 in store. There were no discount stickers, so I assume this is the normal price there.
I REALLY like that all the starhawk dlc is free for plus members. That wasn't know last week and really put a smile on my face. Also that this is not replacing a game of the month and this is just a bonus. A full game that is only half a year old with all the DLC included for $20 and it doesn't replace a game?! Where are the haters now? Plus is awesome! Again, vote with your wallet tomorrow. I hope this becomes a new norm with plus. I quite like it.
I just wish the two new games getting discounts had platinums as neither do (how can a $15.00 game not have one? They all should. A few weeks ago a $35 dollar move game was being sold on the store with no plat. I would be PISSED if I threw down that much money and didnt get a game with a full trophy list. But maybe that's just me).

The fact it's not replacing a free game removed all of my hate for getting a half game.
normal subs purchased from the Store do stack, but some of the ones we make to use at events are designed to not stack so we don't see a huge gaming of the system from events. The PAX ones may not stack I'm afraid, but they're perfectly sharable for friends without Plus.
I came back to + last week after only having a 3 month sub when it launched. Been off the whole time and all of my saves were there.Correct.
EDIT: Not sure on the saves actually, but the reinstall is definitely correct.
EDIT2: This doesn't sound promising. But you won't lose your local saves... are you talking about cloud saves or local saves? (I should probably have asked this first.)
I can't say the same for everyone but I remember a 6-month hold before *potentially getting deleted.

The notation is crap, but basically NBA 2K13, Dishonored, DOOM 3: BFG Edition, Need For Speed: Most Wanted can be pre-ordered for 10% discount if you're PS+.

Man, you get retail games at near enough RRP. The day one prices on the EU store are INSANE.

They're also extremely inconsistent. SSX is 97.90 Francs (80€/103$) here in Switzerland on the PS Store when new games cost 80 retail. Now, you could find it around 30-40, probably. On the other hand, you can pre-order LBP Karting for 59 Francs which is certainly less than what you would pay for it in a regular store.
Vita games are priced pretty good though, most new ones are around 10-20 below retail.
you can get it for $1 ($52) less on NewEgg ( w/shipping) and is a physical copy that doesn't take up HDD space. Not the best deal.
If he's in California like me, it's theoretically cheaper just buying it from PSN especially if you don't plan on reselling it.
For 6 bucks, I'd rather have a physical disc.

Personally I won't be doing any day one digital until there's a bigger difference in price, but this is a good direction.
Given their toll on bandwidth and the fact that 90% of modern releases lose 1/3 of their retail value in a few weeks/months time, I'm inclined to agree. It's great to have the option, but there needs to be more to sweeten the deal than a 10% discount. 33% seems more in line with current market realities. At that level I'd be inclined to jump in day 1.

I can't believe how big the Starhawk downloads are for both single and multiplayer. Good lord.
I'm a guy who buys these games on PC but this is a nice first step Sony needed to do (MS does too) to embrace a more digital future. I could probably see myself doing this for some Sony 1st party game in the future if it's not some massive 40gb game.
Well there's hours of waiting for the download and install but it should still beat an online retailer, even if you have day 1 delivery on Amazon.

If you're in NA and interested in any of the following you should apply it and "purchase" the following before they're taken down on October 2nd when the store updates. What time they'll disappear on that day? Nobody knows.
If you don't care about any of that then just watch for the post on the blog about the store update each week because they post what's expiring the next week. That information is also listed on the store itself on the PS3.

So my plus runs out on Friday and I can't afford to re up until the Thursday after, what happens to my games and how does re upping work in regards to them?

You won't be able to play them while you're not subscribed but once you re-sub, they'll work again. They don't go through your download list deleting all your PS+ games or anything.

They should be there once you reup. Just start them up again and they should update the Plus date when you want to play them.

Does Playstation plus rotate what is free and what isn't? Meaning, if a game is free last year, will it always be free for plus members going forward ( including new members) or do they cancel it if you don't download it within a certain window of time?
It rotates. There are games that rotate once a month, games that rotate every six/eight weeks (depending if you're EU/US) and games that rotate every year.

Yeah they reduced them when the PSN Store was running at £30, guess they haven't put them back up yet. I had a load of store credit so picked one up, i'm now subbed till May 2014!
If you wasn't a member at the time the game was free you cannot download it, members only get what is given from the start of their subscription, alternatively, if yours runs out and you miss two months before coming back, you cannot get what was given in those two months. Just what you had before and what comes going forward.

I just got the weekly US Playstation Store email and noticed something very interesting (likely US only).
So if you're a PS+ member, pick up two games at $54 each and get $20 credit, effectively $44, if you're into that sort of digital thing. (Non-PS+ could be 2 @ $60 w/ $20 back, I presume.)
