Cool so if I download those games in time will the game not expire as long as I have PSN+, also another question what are some notable games I missed on PSN+ that have expired.

EU Vita details.

EDIT:

  • Starts 21st
  • No extra cost over PS3 version
  • Additional 1GB for cloud saves
  • v2 firmware release
  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • Gravity Rush
  • Chronovolt (new game)
  • Mutant Blobs

Not too shabby.

Hell yes, best time to buy a Vita ever! I've just got mine and this news is awesome. Time to buy PS+ for when my trials expire.

Questions normally have question marks at the end of them :P

For your first one:
As long as you're currently a PS+ subscriber you'll have full access to any PS+ games you've added to your download list as a PS+ subscriber, even if you've stopped your subscription and resubscribed at a later date.

You WON'T have access to any PS+ games that you didn't add to cart and processed whilst they're current, even if you were a PS+ subscriber at the time.

I was able to apply a year subscription PS+ code to my sub account last month. Works perfectly.

I assume it should also work if you add funds to the master account, and then buy it directly from the PSN store using the sub-account. That's how I bought BF3 Premium for my sub-account.

It is strange that you can't use free trials on sub-accounts though. I've tried that too. it's just Sony being Sony, I guess.

Thank you!

Wow that's fantastic. Knowing that I can use PSN+ to build a back catalog of Vita games and then when I buy the console I'll have my pick of what to play is going to be amazing. Makes it really compelling to pick up a Vita in the future. I'll have an eye out.

Dungeon Defenders? When did we get that?

Thanks for all the answers. This PSN+ stuff just seems too good

I already have a list of games I need to play on it
Crysis 2
Scott Pilgrim
inFamous 2
Bulletstorm
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition (will only play the extras)
Uncharted
Gravity Rush

Already own LittleBigPlanet 2 and Mutant Blobs and not interested in the other games.

Dungeon Defenders is a great game...on PC where you can actually chat. The PS3 community is probably fairly non-existent at this point.

Can you "buy" the vita games on PS3?

I sold my vita yesterday (lol) since I have no time for handhelds atm, but was going to pick one up again in summer... would be nice if I could bank these freebies.

Playstation Plus - Plus what? Plus a never ending backlog.

It includes that blob game you keep telling everyone to play, too. Now all PS+ subscribers have no excuse. =D

I'm pretty sure you can. And if you had PS+ already you could download them now or even just "purchase" them to where you have the bag on them and download them later. That's why you can transfer Vita games to and from the PS3.

Is Starhawk still available? I looked for it last week and it didn't show up as free.

Did you look for the SP? That's all that's free.

Yeah that's what I searched for, although I first looked in the Plus section and couldn't see anything Starhawk related. I found the SP campaign only available for purchase. I'll check again later and see if I missed anything. (This is the UK store)

Kudos to Sony for this one, they've now got at least one person thinking about buying a Vita when it was never a thought before today. If I can find a deal on the hardware plus a decent memory card it'll be pretty tempting to pull the trigger.

Anyone else find that because PS+ is essentially a rental system, it forces you to actually play the games you get? PS+ is making me play the games I get through it, because I know that the day I don't renew is the day I start wanting to play the games PS+ had given me.

Huh.... what? How is this really all that different from any other streaming service? You lose access to your movies if you stop subscribing to netflix, or lose your music if you've downloaded any music with, say, a zune pass.

I see a weird "it's just a shitty rental service" argument a lot, and I never understand the thinking behind it. It's hardly any different or hardly any more complicated than the dozens of other buffet style streaming services that people already use. Not trying to imply that's what your saying here, it's just akin to the logic/sentiment I've seen in other posts and I just don't get it.

Is starhawk SP even fun to play? Is it just a mp tutorial, or an actual thing?

HOLY SHIT! This has made getting a Vita much more enticing.

Edit: Wait, will I be able to claim the Vita games if I only have a PS3 currently?

What are you on about?

I'm talking about how the rental, or buffet as you say, style means I am much less of a backlogger and I actually play the games I get. With Steam when I purchase things in sales, I never play most of them or even download them. With PS+, that tiny niggle that I might lose access if I stop means I'm more motivated to play them. Add the fact that new content is guaranteed every month and there's even more motivation. While PS+ has expanded my backlog, I'm playing far more.

ETA on people complaining about only getting two Vita games next month, while replacing two, instead just getting six again: 3 weeks, 6 days, 17 hours.

haha I get you now. Yeah I could see that. I'm definitely pretty bad about having the PS+ games accumulate in my backlog though >_>

If it's helping you cram through your collection though more power to you :D

JSR cannot be played on PS3, correct?

I don't believe it's crossbuy sooo I'm guessing no, I don't think you can.

Yep, you are able to access PSVita and PSP content via the PS3. Just add to your cart and checkout to add to your download list. Redownload when you get your Vita.

I don't want to spoil the party, because this is awesome, but Japan is only getting Sumioni: Demon Arts. They kept talking about fixing PS Plus in Japan at TGS, but surprise surprise, it's still garbage over here.

This is why they need to allow two or more accounts on a Vita simultaneously.
