PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I dont know what other thread to ask this in so I figured Ill try here.

I download Infamous 2 today only to find out that it was someone corrupt and I need to re-download it now. 15GBs. Yay.

Problem is that my ISP has a bandwidth cap from 5pm-1am so I dont want to download it again until after 1am but Im not sure that Ill be up that late.
My PS3 is currently set to turn on and sync data at 2am. Is there any way to get my PS3 to turn on at 2am to do what it usually does but NOT turn off after its done? Then I can queue up the download now and, when it turns on later, itll stay on and get the rest of the download.

Not sure if this is what you want, but I think this is right:
1) Queue up the download and start it.
2) Power off the machine by holding down PS button and selecting turn off machine.
3) When machine comes on for normal overnight PS+ stuff, it will see that download and finish it for you.

I am fairly sure I've got the PS+ behaviour right, the only question is if this is what you wanted...

I've been playing FFVII on my Vita. Is it possible to cloud upload that save and play FFVII on my PS3? Essentially, can I get my PS and Vita saves to sync?

Of course you can. Hook the Vita up to your PS3 and copy the save over to one of the virtual memory cards on the PS3. You'll need to do it with a cable, though.

Ah, so I have to do this every time? No auto sync?

Thanks for this info!

There's a mini, Mad Blocker Alpha, that my 4 year old loves to play. Got it via PSN+ sometime last year. Went to play it today and it's "Expired". My PSN+ subscription ran out early December, but I renewed beforehand, obviously. Other Minis that had expiration dates are fine once I run them to "refresh" the licence & show an updated date that matches my new expiration date. With this Mini, I get thrown into the PSN Store with it showing up at $1.99... Not flagged as previously purchased.

Strangely, it's not in my download history either.

Anyone seen this behaviour with other minis, or this one in fact? Or did something funky happen with this particular game?

Sometimes they upload a new software version on the store and this causes similar things to happen. Go to your download history and find it through there. If you can't Sony customer care is your best bet, they are generally pretty ok with this.

It's not in the download history. I looked very very carefully. I'll ping Sony.

A google search threw up that it was once used for some sort of firmware hack, so I wonder if it got pulled for that.

Yeah that could be it. I have a similar issue with WipeOut HD but only noticed yesterday so I'll be contacting Sony soon about it too.

Just download it again. If it says purchased on the store, then there should be no problem. The problem encountered is that when it expires, most rental licenses would have to be renewed by running the application again from the PS3.

I think it just needs to finish the "activating" phase when downloading it from the store again.

And yeah, it could have been put down due to hack loop holes.

It doesn't say I've purchased it, that's what's so unusual. If it was flagged as purchased, I'd have redownloaded it to refresh the licence & never posted - other PSN+ downloads from around then, including other minis had been flagged as expired & all of them worked okay after running them. It's just this one that's freaky. According to the PSN Store, I don't own it & it's not in my download history (checked 1000+ items!).

This is seriously my son's favourite videogame so that's why it's so bizarre & important ;) I've emailed SCEA support.

New PS3 for Christmas (my old one shit the bed) and I let my PS+ lapse for 14 days. I can't seem to find some of the games, Wipeout double pack is the big one. How do I get that game? Do I have to go to a certain place? It says it's no longer available in the store.

You'll have to hunt for it in your download list. Good luck.

Mad Blocker Alpha was one of the titles used as a Vita exploit, iirc. Possibly when Sony removed it from the store until they patched it in a firmware update it messed up having it from PS+.

That game was used as a Vita exploit. Maybe Sony removed it completely.

Can someone tell me what the current free games are for both Vita and PS3 and which ones are scheduled to expire soon (and what replaces them if its known). The PS Blog is blocked for me at work, so I'd really appreciate it.

North America PSN? Launch the store and scroll down to the app section. There's a huge MU $12 promo banner.

Its such a good deal. I resubbed to plus just to get the music streaming deal ... And found multiple games I haven't played (bioshock 2, retro city rampage, dungeon defenders).

So happy.

Just bought and played Journey. Didn't expect to like it but wanted to try it anyway because of all the love it's getting for GOTY. Holy crap, I couldn't have been more wrong. What an awesome game. And might be the most visually appealing game I've ever played.

So I am having a very slow time downloading small updates to games the last couple days a 75 meg file is saying some crazy stuff like 100 minutes. My connection is fine tested it multiple times even downloading games off PSN is going fast since I downloaded like 11 gigs day after Christmas quick, also just now did a 1 gig DL test from the store it was quick, but everytime I try to update games like Unfinished Swan, Sports Champion 2, LBP2 it takes like 20 minutes to get to about 1% so I just cancel it so I could just start the game without the update.

Anyone notice this last couple days? I never really had much of a problem before with updates this bad.

Edit: ok now it is going much faster, weird

I've just been back through my download list to make sure I have a note of everything I've downloaded and intend to play. Feels bad/good man. :(

Kind of tempted to document everything that's been released on PS+ (EU) since its inception, not sure if such a list exists currently.

Refarding the Retro city rampage PSN offer in the us, does it end at the end of this month or stay longer?
I will miss it if it ends in December...

Yeah, I bought it (and finished it) last night.

For ~$7 it was pretty cool. An amazing visual and aural experience, with a few interesting touches in gameplay. Very, very short, and not sure I will want to play it again. But eh, it was cheap and definitely something different, for a change.

I think it will be part of PS+ for a while. Horrible, crappy game IMO, but I guess some people like it.

Do you guys think our PlayStation Plus subscriptions will carry over on to the PS4? Should be technically possible since it's tied to our PSN account.

I would think it would encompass the new console whenever it's out. Either way they have me paying them yearly. At this rate the value is unquestionable at least for me.

What games are US and EU PSN getting for free in January?
All we know about US content is that Chronovolt is being added on Monday.

EU:
Leaving PS Plus:
  • 2nd January – Batman: Arkham City
  • 2nd January – Bulletstorm
  • 2nd January – Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition
  • 16th January – Mortal Kombat (PS Vita)
  • 23rd January – Knytt Underground

Joining PS Plus:
  • 2nd January – Bioshock 2
  • 2nd January – Guardians of Middle Earth
  • 2nd January – Mortal Kombat – excluding Australia and Germany
  • 2nd January – Gotham City Imposters – Australia and Germany only
  • 16th January – Jet Set Radio (PS Vita)
  • 23rd January – Pinball Arcade (PS Vita)

Is the Mortal Kombat joining EU plus a PS3 version or PS Vita version only? I heard alot about them giving out Mortal Kombat for Vita so I'm confused.

The MK in January is the PS3 version. I believe the PS Vita version is already available right now - you just gotta search for it.

Yeah, my feelings exactly. It'd be interesting to see what games they put up in the first few months though.

Stupid question: I 'bought' bulletstorm through psn +, but haven't downloaded it yet. Would have I to download it before the first of jan?

Yeah, I finally got to sit down and play through Journey yesterday. Possibly the best looking game I've ever played, not to mention the amazing music. This will be the tip of the spear if I am making arguments for video games as art in the future. It's undeniably sublime.

Nope, you can download it whenever you want as long as you purchased it and your subscription is still active.

SCEA is trash. At least we get the disappointment out of the way ahead of time.

What a disappointing holiday month.

I thought some of the discounts were actually quite good this month. MGS3, Sound Shapes, etc. NBA Jam is a nice freebie, too, not to mention Bioshock 2.

Definitely not an "A" month, though. I'd love for Vanquish to pop up.

Personally I'm disappointed, since I don't care about the discounts and already own NBA Jam, but it'll be great to have more people online in NBA Jam, so that's nice.

You'd prefer SCEE? Cause they didn't update this week and won't be next week either. Woohoo!

Also, SCEA holiday sales were a shitload better than the junk SCEE gave us. The couldn't even put Journey and Unfinished Swan on sale separately. The thought never crossed their minds that people might already own one of them.
