PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Sometimes it's not a bad thing to appeal to a company's good nature. I know I've been able to snag discounts at some places because I was only a day late and just asked (heck, some places will even take coupons after the expiration date). It shouldn't be an expected behavior, no, however it certainly couldn't hurt to ask. Asking for credit because you had to wait on the phone? No.

I agree on trying to appeal on a company's good nature, but just don't grumble about it in a thread if they didn't give you what you asked.

Regardless of anything, buy Journey. It's an experience worth what they're asking. It's a bummer you missed the sale, but just go for it. If you subscribed for a year, you've got ten bucks coming, right? Use that. Just get the game and let bygones be bygones.

It's to my eternal shame that I have yet to experience Journey.

I, too, have yet to experience Journey. I may take the hit and purchase the game Friday.

Also, I know this isn't Plus-related per se, but is there a general consensus on the new Sly game?

What the hell, I'm between PS3 games and it's not like that PS+ backlog is going anywhere. :p

I've taken one for the team. Expect Journey to go on sale or free in the EU soon

Reception has been good. It's been out for a while so there'll be an OT and plenty of reviews.

Pleasantly surprised last night.

Logged in and found that they had Mass Effect 3, DOA5 and God of War HD!

Always wanted to try an ME game but didn't want to pay, was tempted last week to get DOA5 but know I'll never out enough effort to justify £30, likewise GoW!

Once my 3 months are up, I'll be signing up for a year and forever! The Vita games are a great bonus as well but really need a 32gb card :-(

Oh god yes please.

I bought flOw in the sale the other week, and have had Flower for years.

Would be great to finish the "trilogy".

I just can't justify dropping almost-£10 on Journey. Don't hurt me.

There already IS an OT for Sly 4 =)

Sly 4's good. If you're in EU def. jump on that pre-order for the PS3 ver. at 20 Pounds.
Keep in mind that the PS3 ver. is 16 GB XO.

Has Sly 4 done well so far? Those prices are worrying.

I haven't played any of the games, but it's unlikely Naughty Dog will make another Jak game, so Sly and Ratchet are the only surviving mascots of the big-three from the PS2.

Would be sad to see Sly go.

I picked it up when it was on sale with Unfinished Swan, really glad that I did. Both are really great little games that I probably wouldn't have paid full price for separately. Journey is fantastic though.

We honestly won't know til sales figures show up. I could see the game selling well digitally at least.

Ok so when I download large patches my ps3 times out of PSN because it takes so long, so I was hoping to do it as a background download now I have PS+. I can't seem to get it to work though, so how do I get background updates? Specifically for Dark Souls, Skullgirls and Little Big Planet 2

Turn on Automatic Updates, launch the games, then shutoff the system and wait for Automatic Updates to kick in. If you don't want to wait overnight for Automatic Updates to kick in, set it to the current time.

So I have to launch the games I want to update, quit out the game and then shut down the system? Cheers.
Yeah, it'll only update the last 10 games you've launched. Also be aware it won't do all 10 at the same time, it only does 3 at a time starting with the most recent games you've launched.

As I discovered when trying to get my second PS3 up to a condition that I could leave it somewhere with no internet: worth bearing in mind that a single automatic update will only update at most three titles.

Edit: Beaten!

I think I'm going to resubscribe once this free month is over, bought the PS+ code from game.co.uk, better work! Will get ratchet back too so I could finish it with a friend, sure beats paying $60 for my region... since I'm really not going to replay it.

Huh. I'm quite enjoying it, and I usually quite dislike military shootbang games. Gameplay-wise it's solid if not unremarkable (and a little bit buggy), but the story is excellent and well worth playing the game for.

We'll see. I've heard things about the story, which is honestly the only reason why I'm even bothering with it in the first place. I will admit that I just don't like military stuff whatsoever so it's a bit harder for me to care about what's going on, or the shallow gameplay.

Youve probably only played like 5 minutes.

I started chapter 8 yesterday and I'm willing to agree with his sentiments. I've seen maybe 5 minutes of something that might be mistaken for a compelling story (in chapter 7) and mediocre gameplay for the entirety of it.

I'm still going to go through it so that I see everything, but I thought the great story would have come more quickly. I grow agitated at this game.

About 30. Which isn't much. But does the gameplay or enemy encounters change? I've heard it's 4-5 hours long. If it's 4 more hours of those 30 minutes, regardless of having some super interesting plot, it's not for me.

Stay with it for about an hour. It might just be me but the story felt very refreshing compared to other shooters. Also, use the command option as much as possible. It makes combat feel fluid.

I haven't even touched my PS3 since mid February since my 8 year old essentially owns it playing LBP 2 a lot of the time.

Anyone know if those Eurogamer codes expire? Planning on waiting a while until something good turns up. Couldn't find anything on the FAQ. Guess I could e.mail Euogamer if nobody here knows.

So I noticed DOA5 and nabbed that, and it has probably the hardest 'rookie' mode I've ever played. Anyone got any beginner tips?

Also I stumbled across it quite by accident. I signed up to the email newsletter - aren't Sony supposed to email me when stuff is added to Plus?

Set it to Easy and just barrel through.
Especially if you're put off by military shooters.

(That actually does count as a spoiler depending on how hyper sensitive you are.)

I'm really enjoying Spec Ops: The Line. Not really for the revolutionary gameplay, but it's a solid entry and the story is top-notch.

Anyone having trouble downloading DOA or ME3 on UK PSN atm? I keep getting a message saying that "This content is not available at the moment."

A tip would be to play this game on easy mode :) The last two levels are tedious as fuck even on normal difficulty and the story flows better when you simply dominate the enemies.

Edit: beaten

Anyone know how to update your remaining time for your games on ps+? I was playing with all the options and after renewing a year. None of my games updated with the new subscription. Installed Spec Ops and its under the new time remaining.
Not looking forward to redownload the games if its the only option.

Start the download -> wait for activation to occur at the start of the download -> cancel download.

Last time I had an "expired" game, it seemed to reauthenticate itself, which I think is new behavior (maybe related to the new store?)

Unless it was all just some sort of fever dream, it seemed like a good way for Sony to have addressed the issue.
