how does demons souls hold up to dark souls? completed dark souls, but stopped playing demons about halfway through because I accidentally hit a guy in the nexus and then everything went bad :P

It's totally fine. Feel free to hit
Yurt
though, if you want to save yourself a future headache.

Yeah. I live in Europe, use a US account as my primary one (because the US store prices are lower) and have a secondary EU account with PS+. You can just download games through your EU account and play them with your US profile.

Whoa whoa hold the fuck on. Does this work for both Vita and PS3? So if I download a game via EU PS+, I can play it (and receive trophies) on my US main account? If that's the case I'm double dipping today.

Yep, it's worked like that for me. I don't have EU PS+ but I've used an EU account for other stuff and games/trophies worked fine on my main account once you downloaded them.

Also, my Download speed is so fast I have no idea what I've done to my wireless settings but no way I'm going to change them now. 14GB in less than a hour is good for me.

Sorry, but I find this incredibly hard to believe. 14GB/hour is insane. What ISP do you have and is your PS3 wired directly to your router?

Sorry for taking some time to answer fellow GAFfer.

My PS3 is wired directly to my Router, yes. I have two routers and one is only for my Consoles and one Laptop. I have Optic Fiber and my speed is (according to Speedtest.net) 25Mbps (average).

PS3 is best to keep wired if you can. If somehow you still find hard to believe here it is a photo from my PS3 Download Speed:

It also depends on your router. My PS3 is connected wirelessly and I have 15 Mbps download/ 3 Mbps upload on it (excuse me for not taking a picture). Speedtest gives me 32 Mbps download / 25 Mbps upload and I also have two laptops connected to that router (also via Wi-Fi).

Yeah, I keep mine wired as well. Had Demon Souls in 20 min and Amalur in about 50 min. Regular cable internet (Europe)

Protip. Don't do background downloading. It goes super fast. Installing games is a different beast however, that takes ages anyway.

If I configure my router to use DNS (heard this ages ago, don't even know what it means, lol) with the PS3, could I get a faster connection?

Using ethernet if that helps.

IIRC you can't manually set the DNS on PS3, you just set the gateway. But it wouldn't help either way. DNS simply resolves hostnames into IPs.

I think you mean dmz. Some people have reported that placing the ps3 in a dmz increased their speeds.

You're portuguese too? Damn, we're going to end up taking over gaf.

After years of getting awful download speeds from my PS3, often resulting in corrupted files, I started using my Macbook Air as a new wifi receiver for it, hooking up to Ethernet.

My downloads are 10x faster.

I downloaded Kingdoms of Amalur, Demon's Souls and Okami HD from PS+ last night in about 4 hours or so. That's about 25GB.

For what I'm used PS3, that's INSANE speeds.

I wonder should I download Demon's Souls at all, not only I have huge backlog, I'm not sure I want to play such an unforgiving game, having very limited free time and all.
Is it possible to play in very short sessions? Like 30 minutes tops? Can you even progress in such a time?

I never get speeds like this, I downloaded Okami HD alone for about 6 hours I think, may be 5, anyway it was really really slow. I even stopped trying to download more than 1 game at once.

You can save anywhere so when you get back to it you'll be exactly where you were.

The last time I tried to download Okami HD it took about that long and was corrupted.

I think my PS3 hates my wifi network, and that's why using the laptop with ethernet cable worked.

Thanks, will download this weekend then.
I somehow was under impression you can't save where you want.

I downloaded Hitman Absolution 2 times, because first time after downloading it half a day it was corrupted too. Happens to me time to time.

You don't even save, at all. The game basically just auto saves for anything you do, and if you quit, it'll save too. I think that's how it worked in Demon Soul's too.

I've not attempted to download Absolution yet; it's so big!

Then again, Amalur isn't far off, but I am more interested in that.

14 Gb takes me around 45 mins to download.

I have a 60Mbps connection and using wireless, but the router is literally 1 wall away.

I've downloaded the complete batch of recent PS+ games (Reckoning, DS and Team ICO collection) only to find out that all of them were corrupted once finished. That was fun.

Dammit, I still can't add funds to my wallet even with PayPal. PSN rejects it. I have an Australian account, live in Turkey. Even with Paypal, Sony doesn't accept my money. :( I need $70 AUD worth of AUS PSN cards or a way for Sony to accept my cc. I am disappointed!

They refuse cards/paypal that are not from the region on which you want to add funds. I'm in France and had similar issues with my US account so I had to buy a US PSN card.

I found it with digital availability and emailing on amazon. Maybe you can find it too for AUS ?

Sony's speed test doesn't seem very accurate, though. My speed there is about 12mbps... the downloads are definitely faster than that.

I haven't found a single AUS PSN card yet, they're so rare or extinct. :(

So when can we expect to hear of June's (NA) releases? Also does PS+ release games/deals every week or just every month? I just got it this past week.

They reveal the new stuff every first Monday of the month, so we'll know on June 3rd. They usually add 1 new game a week, sometimes 2.

The Monday before the first Tuesday of every month (in this case next Monday) is when they tell us what's coming for the rest if the month. Games and deals are released weekly.

It's a shame the ICO/SotC is one download as I just wanted to d/l only ICO as I never started that. SotC retail saves are not compatible with the Digital Versions. I really wish Sony would fix this as it's frustrating as hell.

Even Demon's Souls, which I never finished, I would love to carry on, but with saves not working from retail to digital, I'm not wasting my bandwidth.

Demon's Souls is even better than Dark Souls in some areas... like online play.
Demon's has a whole dedicated server... Dark Souls is just p2p... online experience suffers because of it

This will sound dumb, but have you guys with slow download speeds tried pausing/unpausing downloads?

When I see something going slow, I do this, and it gets much faster after.
