PlayStation/PSOne Model/Serial # question

My PlayStation is a SCPH-1000. Aren't the newest PS2/PSTwo models somewhere into 50000/60000? I'm wondering if this 1000-series belongs to the very first PlayStations. It was imported from Japan, but I don't know exactly when. I guess it could be almost ten years old.

And it's still working! Small miracle I guess. Only when flipped over with the cd-lid downwards, but it works :). Is there anyway to define the age of this brave PS with the serie/serial number? I guess the serial number is the 'unique' one, its A-6342806.

Yes, the SCPH-1000's are the first run PSXs (does yours have the S-Video port?).

Hey Rei, great news man, I had one too. Then I sold it to my brother and as far as I know it still works! Later series became the 9000 (which removed the I/O port on the back) and so on. Don't know the serial number, but I'll look it up one day. :)
