Playstation Vita western launch thread | It only does everything, everywhere.

Still not sure if I am going to get it 100 percent. I want it but 250 bucks is kinda a lot with memory card then games. I also want Mass Effect 3 so I have to see.
 
I played Gravity Rush at a demo station over the weekend. Now I really want a Vita. I'm trying to hold out for Persona 4 though.
 
That PDP crystal case "looks" like it can protect the vita from anything. Will wait for impressions while not letting the Vita leave the house.

Ah, all makes sense. I agree with everything you said... except about not caring in getting it early. I really, really want my Vita. =]

You definitely make a good point. I don't know, maybe I'll try to hold off the extra week. I wasn't even going to get a case, and I barely even want Little Deviants. Plus I just got a 3DS a week ago. We'll see. I think after reading your post, I might end up trying to wait. I didn't even think about the fact that I basically just got a 3DS and Mario 3D Land (which is amazing).

Heh I didn't say I didn't care about getting it early; I just can't convince myself to do it for only a week. I tried to rationalize it but playing Little Deviants sealed it for me. Heck, had they tossed in the 8gb card, I probably would have kept it, but between those two factors, I just couldn't do it for a week of early access. I was perfectly happy when it was a deal though.

Ya, if you don't want the case and/or game, it seems not worth it to get it. Plus your 3DS should keep you busy. Wait a week. After that bonus week is gone, you'd have gained nothing. It's a drop in the bucket of the lifespan of the system for you. The money you saved could have bought you another game.

I press the Start (play?) button on the xbox controller really often. it sucks when it happens
 
How easy is it to switch accounts with a memory card on Vita? I might jump to the 3G launch bundle and use the 8GB stick for PSP games and a Japan account.
 
As much as I'd really like to get my hands on a Vita on the 15th, pretty much everything about the FEB turned me off of it:

1) Don't want to pay extra for 3G, which I'll never use
2) Want a 16GB card, or at the very least an 8GB
3) Don't care in the slightest for Little Deviants.

If any one of those three things was different, I may have gone for it.

At least RE: Revelaitons will keep me busy in the meantime...

The hardware can compete for sure, but the touch only controls and relatively very low budget of most games made for the iOS keeps it from being too hardcore. That's why I have a 3DS and I'm buying a Vita.

Port cant exist because those games dont originate on iOS, Infinity blade is good again, but not my cup of tea. I cant stand JUST touch controls, I like options. I also dont want to waste money on a controller they may or may not play iOS/Android games. For the record GTA3 plays 10 times better on the Samsung Galaxy S2 : )

Worth it over the other brands/options?

I've finally decided to stick with my 3G launch bundle. I hate the idea of waiting an extra week, but I figure I've got enough other games and "stuff" to busy myself with in the mean time.

Final order:

3G launch - paid
Hot Shots - paid
Katamari - paid
Wipeout/Ninja Gaiden (not sure yet on this) - thoughts?
Screen protector - link above for option
Case - I have no idea still
 
Finally got to hold a Vita and try one out today.
The guy working in the games section of Best Buy had it on him, and let me try out Little Deviants.
I only played two minigames, but I got a good feel for the hardware, and I liked it! Buttons are a bit small, but nothing that'll make me regret getting one. It felt right in my hands.
Oh, and the screen is sooooo big and nice! :)
My hype just went up from the already dangerously high level it was already at >_>
I need this thing.

Banking on this. There will definitely be a sale. The best thing about waiting till the 22nd is you get to plan your launch around two weeks worth of ads instead of just one.
 
Out of all the the games I'm grabbing at launch, or hope to grab, I'm actually most excited to finally try Rayman Origins.

Edit: For reference, couldn't pull the trigger at full price on consoles, never tried any demos, and can't wait to see how it looks on the PSV OLED screen.

Oh wow... I just looked over my Amazon order and they really are screwing us, aren't they? I don't give a shit about Little Deviants, would prefer a bigger memory card, and don't need a case. So I'd be paying a hundred bucks for nothing other than getting the game a week early?

Yuck, way to make me balk at this idea, Sony. Can't believe how shitty a company you are, sometimes.

Vita 1.6 update brings maps app and video recording for photo app.
Also MacOSX version of CMA will be released on Feb 8.

Ohh and I hope that Wipeout loadings will be fixed somehow Oo
Does retrying a race also load that long?

Is it possible to access the Vita as a regular external drive on Mac?
I doubt Sony's management software for Mac will be any good..

The Vita cannot be accessed as an external storage by anything at all.

Everything is done from the Vita.

Yeah, you guys are all suckers for buying this stuff. Me though, I'd never buy a 32gb memory card for $100.
