I want impressions on it too. But from my brief experience with the Vita, it's very comfortable on its own. With my 3DS I use the hori wheel grip (or circle pad pro now with revelations, but that's no comfortable either). PSP 1000-3000 are comfortable outside of the analog slider placement right under the d-pad. PSP Go is quite comfortable too.

Main comfort issue with the Vita is if the game uses the back touch pad. The way I hold it naturally has my fingers covering about half of it (1/4th from each side). Those little rubber grips are worthless, imo. That's down to the software more than the hardware, though.

Looks like Playstation Store is flaky right now, just got a "service is undergoing maintenance" message from my PS3 (and intermittent errors connecting from my Vita)...

Keep trying. I just started downloading my review copies but it did take me 3-4 tries to connect.

Decided I can afford to get one of these things, gonna place my pre-order down tomorrow with a 4gb memory card and uncharted, gonna finish uncharted quickly then trade it in for wipeout.

Ive been slowly getting more and more hyped since i played it last september at eurogamer! I cant wait!
 
Well the PS Vita truck arrived at my office today.

Really impressed with the device, tried Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout and was genuinely amazed at how good they look on a handheld.

They also had a Wipeout competition where the person with the fastest lap won a PS Vita, and I came 1st!! So got a Vita coming on the launch day from Sony for free, very happy!! :D

I also got a trophy too which was cool.

Now all I have to do is grab a few games and a memory card and I'm all set! Today has been a good day!
 
When will the US PSN SEN go live?

A question for people with vitas... how does Tactics Ogre look on it?

That game was kinda a blurry mess on psp and I shudder to think about how it's gonna look on vita O_o.

But that's like the last big psp game that I still need to finish T_T.

I don't think so. If you check your download list on the Vita, certain games are able to be directly downloaded, others are not. I hooked my Vita to my PS3, and the trouble I had with Chains of Olympus yesterday disappeared. But other titles like Modnation, Motorstorm, and Gran Turismo still weren't able to be transferred. Hopefully this store maintenance will allow more PSP titles to work!

Yes, this is my worry also. I want to be able to hold it like I use to hold a PSP but with the touch panel that's not going to work, so I kinda want the grip so I can rest my hands like I do with the dualshocks

Nice job! Sometimes having some video game skills can come in handy!
 
The only reason I am not picking up a Vita for now is that FIFA 12 has no PS3<->Vita save transferring. What a massive missed opportunity. FIFA is the only game that I would buy (except maybe Rayman) and it has the only important feature to me. So frustrating.
 
will the Vita be able to rent/buy movies and TV from the PSN store? How about any DLNA stuff (sony seem to like DLNA)

its fine. Kind of great. The width of the screen makes reading nice and easy.

My only negative is that the buttons on the extreme corners of the screen can be a bit difficult to hit without activating the menu items which are in the right-margin. There are quite a lot the main functions here - last page of a thread, the reply button, the post button

I came in second at the Boston Wipeout competition. They gave out PSN cards though, but hey- $25 for second place will get me escape plan and ssd.
 
So yesterday when I was looking all over the place for RE:R one gamestop had a vita on display. All I did for a minute was look at the screen. I can say it's easily the best screen I've ever seen.
 
For the people who already pre-ordered? How much will I be able to sell my pre-order pack for? I doubt headphones are good, and PSN discount is useless - my main account is US one, I live in Germany.

I've had it since launch...great 10 min gameplay but UMvC is a better bet on the fighting front...

Blazblue has great graphics and good mechanics...just gets old quick...would be a great $20 pickup on an amazon sale...

I have $100 to spend on games and accessories, but I'd like to make some informed purchasing decisions here...
 
Looks like all of my Amazon orders, except for the Vita will arrive tomorrow.

Then the weekend hype will begin!

Same scenario jump started my interest as I had none previously. Thing was kinda beautiful and the games looked better than I thought they would. Then Uncharted, Wipeout, Hot Shots Golf.

Then I read up on Gravity Rush... ugh. I want this, and kinda bad. But at $299, plus a nice sized memory card, plus screen protectors and case, and at least Uncharted... just cant justify it right now. I even have the money to blow, but if I get the 32 gb memory card, thats over $500 bucks. : (
