Monster Hunter Freedom Unite – Permanent Price Drop (PSP) (now $19.99, original price $29.99)

I'm curious about Monster Hunter. What Gould I grab for $9.99?

Is MHFU worth grabbing? Im a monster hunter noob...

It's the newest portable MonHun to come to North America so it's probably your best option for portable MonHun.

Not sure what you mean by what could you get for $9.99 (a MonHun title specifically, or are you asking about any title?) However, if you're curious about MonHun, MFHU or Tri (Wii) are good entries into the MonHun series without importing.

Mutant Blobs Attack is pretty great. I should have a write up in a little if you don't trust Greg Miller.
I seen you playing that. For 8 dallah, it looks like a great fit for a portable like Vita.

Not for 20. Wait for the 10 dollar sale. I do have a monster character saved from my PSP days but I don't have the digital version.

So just a confirmation on the memory cards/account information. Can you use as many memory cards as you want on your Vita? I already have a 4GB that came with my First Edition Bundle, but I'm grabbing another memory card tonight to add more content to it. Will that be a problem?

9/10

Was going to get this game anyway as I am a sucker for platformers and for $7.99 it is a no brainer, but it is great to see positive reviews like the above. Sounds like the touch controls are well done and unobtrusive.

I had no idea about this. Really enjoyed the PS3 version so I'll probably give this a shot for $8.

Everyone should keep their RR pre-orders just in case Namco decides to add the rest of the content to the game and charge full price.

Preordered.. Thanks! I forgot about it being delayed and the possibility of a price hike + a more complete package.

WTH Sony, why is Syphon FIlter missing on PS3 PSN store? it's even in your official list of supported game by Vita but I couldn't find it now. pretty damn sure I saw it last week because I've been thinking to double dipping on this title. the fucked up thing is that the demo is still available but not the full game.

earlier someone also said Resistance Retribution is also missing.

what's going on here! I want my Syphon Filter LS on my Vita.

Has anyone made a list of good psp games that are currently on sale or less than 20 bucks?

This changes. You're better off getting on and doing that yourself instead of expecting someone to do it for you :P

I did. There's about 5-7 pages of alphabetically sorted PSP titles. Give it a whirl.

can we get a video of The store navigation?

I'm surprised Skygnee (or however you spell his name) hasn't made one on his YT channel. Just browsing and going from game to other things like near or cross game chat. Just swiping away at it. It's a lot more impressive than anyone who doesn't have is ready for it to be. It's excellent.

So I posted earlier saying I think I have some hardware issues.
Well, I tried the Little Deviants demo with the back touch as someone suggested. That's fine. It's just HSG is weird or I don't get it or something.

But my shoulder buttons are a little messed up I think.
I sat around for like half an hour in Rayman (demo) just pressing the shoulder buttons (which makes you sprint).
Testing the left shoulder button, he sprints every time. But the right shoulder button, I press it down, and he won't sprint. I have to apply a extra pressure after it's all the way down before he sprints.
I usually don't press very hard. So I played some Lumines (demo). I used the right shoulder button to spin the blocks. Playing naturally, I sometimes just don't press hard enough and it won't spin the block.
So my right shoulder button is definitely not as responsive as my left.

I don't know what I should do :-\
I bought it from Amazon and I really don't want to deal with explaining the problem and sending it back and stuff. I have all my stuff set up and screen protectors applied to the front and back and... ugh... it'd be so much of a hassle.

I don't know if it'll just... fix itself if I play enough or... I don't know. :(

Aside from remote play, is there any way to play PSX games, currently? Also, all my games on my download list say unable to download on the vita, including things that should work such as minis. Is this normal?

Tell them your left shoulder button is not responding properly and you think it's defective. I would exchange it before it gets worse and is too late.

Alright, so I just bought a month of 3G. Do I need to do anything from here to get my free month/game or will it just happen after 30 days?

Yes, you need to go into your account (preferably on a PC) and activate it so it kicks in automatically and then you get the promo for SSD. Don't be afraid to call AT&T incase you can't find it. They were very good with me on my call. I did it just as a precaution so they could see what I'm doing as I'm doing it and the rep confirmed my stuff went through as I did it. You need to activate the promo for you to get the free game.

I would definitely exchange it for a different one. This is the reason I buy items like this a brick and mortar stores, exchange process is much more immediate. However, I realize not everyone has great brick and mortar experiences.

Oh-kay, this weekend is the first time I shall force my wife and kid to watch TV, so that I have an excuse to play Vita at home. B^)

Near via wifi on my Vita picked up exactly where I live. Still don't know exactly how to use it, but I saw lots of people in my area supposedly less than two miles away, there were 25 players found in total.

So, what can I do with this app?

Just to add my impressions after owning the device for a few days:

1) Best feeling (to me) handheld gaming device I've ever used in terms of ergonomics. It's still not perfection as I would have liked a little bit more travel in the analog sticks but it's a GIANT step up from the PSP.

2) The OS is a pleasure to use and the web browser if fast and responsive on supported pages. Swiping screens, opening and closing apps, loading game manuals are all really quick and work seamlessly. Neogaf browsing works great too!

3) The D-pad is awesome. I race with the D-pad in Wipeout 2048 and fight with it in BlazBlue and it handily whips most other D-pads out there including Sony's own Dualshock 3 D-pad. I want more fighting games on the Vita just because the D-pad is so darn good.

4) And speaking of Wipeout 2048...Gorgeous. Slick. Sexy. Brilliant. It's colorful, fast and it sounds amazing. I want the soundtrack.

5) BlazBlue is likewise gorgeous. The quality of the display in the Vita is miles ahead of most folks home TV sets and I'm betting that many people have never seen a 2D display of the quality of BlazBlue on the Vita. It's sort of jaw dropping if you are into anime style 2D art and the gameplay is of course no slouch either.

6) Maybe I'm justifying my purchase here but I'm liking the 3G implementation of Near. I was sitting in a parking lot yesterday waiting for my wife to arrive so we could do some shopping after work and I booted up Near. It found one person a couple of miles away playing Uncharted and it was pretty cool. After I got home I discovered Near had been keeping track of the "hits" I was getting as I traveled and I had several more folks discovered who had been playing Hotshots Golf. This morning I received 2 presents from yet another person who had been playing UMvC. It's a pretty nifty little social experience.

7) The PSP games that I've so far played on my Vita have all looked better than they did on my PSP-3000. The color on the Vita is just plain better than it was on the PSP and so is the screen response and accuracy. Colors pop. Blacks are truly black. And there's no ghosting. Loco Roco, Patapon and Tactics Ogre (all I've tried so far) all feel like they got a visual upgrade just because that screen is so darn good.

So yeah, launch goggles and all but I am seriously in love with this thing. The potential is sky high for the device and I hope Sony does not waste it and I hope that 3rd parties jump in with both feet. I feel like the Vita has the potential to be a game changer because of the power and the options it contains and I hope that it catches on.
