My globular cluster stuff is inching it's way here lol. The tracking site is a little ambiguous, but I think it may be arriving today.

I ordered the things for the controllers too and I'll let you all know what I think.

Oh wow, those controller things are really interesting. I might benefit from something like that, rather than add-ons for the headset itself. I usually play with grip for holding objects, most times I am so completely in the zone that I don't notice it but sometimes my hands get incredibly tired.

Please share some photos of them in use when they arrive.

Yeah I will get some better pics once I have them.

I'm going to lose the ability to let the controllers slip down my wrist. I do that when I quickly need a free hand. Always liked how you can do that. But I often think how nice it would be to be able to open my grip and have the controller stay in place like the knuckles. I could only find this on the gc website. They were only $20.

Just got home and it looks like the gc stuff is here.

I'm curious to know if it is worth it! Kept thinking about it the last time I played Phasmophobia, my hands got really tired after spending time furiously (fearfully, actually lol) holding the controller to avoid dropping the hunting equipments.

Okay I put everything together last night and I'll give some better impressions later on when I have some time to really play something, but I know some of you guys are curious about the handpad things and I can tell you all you need to know about that right now.

They attach by putting adhesive velcro dots on the controller. These seem to be on pretty good and have stayed in place with taking the velcro pad on and off. Protip: clean with alcohol, press them on hard, then set the controller aside for an hour before you put the pad on.

Here's the thing: if you are not sure that you'd like them, you should probably just buy them. The fit of this is going to be different for everybody's hands and even their grip.

There are two sizing options. There's a second set of thinner pads that can be sandwiched underneath the normal pad. It thickens the padding and makes it tighter to the hand.

I think I'm in between the two sizes... But that is sort of relative to how much I expected it to grip my hand. I thought this would be something that would hold my hand a little more.

My hands are on the small side, the smaller hand setting seems to be for some very small hands. It's tight enough to interfere with my grip, and it might be just tight enough to make your hands feel numb after a few hours. Not sure haven't tried it anything like that long.

On the bigger hand setting, the pad mostly, most of the time, does not touch my hand, so doesn't hold the controller on they way it would if it fit a little tighter. Not what I was expecting, but it's actually fine (for me):

The looser fit setting still takes up enough space inside to make it so I can open my grip like I couldn't do before. If I do that and point my hand straight down, it would still fall off. But in any other orientation I can open my grip and the controller stays really well aligned to my hand. Usually when you let go, the controller would sort of flop down and start hanging by the ring on your wrist. Now while my hand wasn't squeezing in the pads, the ring really has nowhere to go so it's held nice and straight.

So I ended up liking these not because they worked as I expected, but because they still worked another way. And I'm totally keeping them.

Impressions are going to vary a lot depending on the sizing and expectations. They're only 20 bucks and there's only one way you're going to find out...

Just pre-ordered Resident Evil 7 PS5 physical, purely in the hopes that supporting this release increases the likelihood of Capcom giving us a proper PS VR2 version. A man can dream.
You have to imagine the hardest work is already done. And they have established an internal roadmap/workflow for these types of conversions. Makes you wonder.

Metro had such (imo) a dreadful opening… I haven’t gone back to it. Just being locked in one non-interactive environment after another while some character refuses to shut the fuck up and let me play the game.

Same, one of the worst openings I’ve seen in a bit. Had to drop it for an extended period of time because of how terrible it was. Then just put my head down and grinded through the first 3 hours of tutorials which was a real b*tch.
