It's eliciting the right reactions.
Pokémon is absolutely within their rights here, but they're definitely going after these people cause they're an easy target.
Some of the defenders of Pokémon have stated stuff like "but this is to protect the perception of the brand", and sure, that's also true. However, there are far worse things Pokémon could be going after, but they know it will be much harder to get anywhere in those cases. I am of course referring to 18+ fan artists, specifically comic artists, who sell their works at public events.

Yeah the action is stupid, but I'm mostly rolling my eyes at people taking opportunity to use it for console wars or people who aren't even into the franchise to begin with to act high and mighty.

I think it's just because the info is now released at the same time internationally, they have to specify where the new Greninja, Zygarde, etc. are going to show up.

They could have done that just with the initial "Coming this fall in Japan", but specifying the exact date? It's unusual to say the least.

Uh, I'm not into any EA franchise aside from Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect these days but if they do something screwed up with say NHL or Battlefield I will call 'em out just the same.
I haven't talked much on it because I feel it's weird they never sent a C&D first so I'd like to know if we're missing something (like the original GI article said). I know someone who was sent a letter by TPCi's cray cray lawyers and it was a C&D, not straight up "SEE YOU IN COURT." If they actually did that, then they deserve 100% of the negative reactions.

Didn't they also do that with XY anime premiere but opted to air it dubbed earlier?
Not saying it's bad to call on them, and I do agree on them using CnD. It's the posters who use it as a festering ground for unrelated shit is what I'm saying.

yeah, they dubbed the first two episodes or so and aired them around release time
then, went back to the normal stuff and you had to wait until like next year for X/Y to actually start lol

I think Puni-chan is the nickname for the Zygarde core. And probably no catching involved, it wouldn't be the first time a legendary has tagged along with the group.

Mind you this is probably closer than Meloetta, which was the other legendary that "tagged" with the group. I quoted because she barely had interaction until her proper arc. With Bonnie bonding with Puni-chan I hope to see more.

Adamant said in /vp/ that originally they were gonna use Puni-chan, but apparently part of the plot has an overt explanation why as the name comes into Puni-chan, so they'll go with Squishy temporarily until they find a better name, though personally Squishy already conveys it well.
