They haven't said anything about that, but I assume it'll work just like the old games.Do we know if we'll be able to trade between Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver's Virtual Console release? I've been looking into breeding Starter Pokémon with egg moves like Ancient Power + Leech Seed Chikorita, Reversal Cyndaquil (since Submission isn't an option in G/S), etc. and wanted to know if that is an option/if someone could trade over a Pokémon from Red/Blue/Yellow that knows the desired move to cut down on the time it would take to breed it.

In addition, these titles will also be compatible with the Time Capsule function, which allows players to Link Trade Pokémon between Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, or Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition in Pokémon Centers within the games, as long as the species of Pokémon appeared in Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, or Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition as well. Have the Pokémon that worked so hard for you in Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition keep battling by your side in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver.
Looks like CoroCoro is going to be shit judging by the cover.
Now it's getting ridiculous...
I am still on the fence on whether to get Gold and Silver on virtual console as yeah not having to replace the battery would be sweet but I would have to get another 3DS just to trade between them and the lack of Crystal version is annoying as there is no reason for the west to skip on that, plus I would lose access to using Pokémon Stadium which I use to store items that are hard to obtain or not obtainable till late game like the Leftover.
Plus now that the series is heading towards the Switch I am wary of buying new digital games on the 3DS as I have no idea if they will be carried over to the Switch.
The next game is gonna resemble a Pokemon game, it's going to play like a Pokemon game and it's gonna look like one and the thread when it's revealed is gonna be like 80 pages long of people driveby shitting on it. It's destiny.
Anyway the lack of any US/UM news is starting to get even me shook. I guess I shouldn't complain when I was one of the people who hated how much of S/M they revealed before release but at the same time it would be nice to have some semblance of what we're in for.
I think it's because they didn't really follow up the story very well and kinda took a step back from following it through when for the sequel they should've doubled down on it. Like maybe make one of the middle gym leaders retired as well, so when you reach Opelucid City you're only about halfway and after meeting Drayden, not even battling him, the city falls under attack and from then on the game is more about fighting Plasma where they show up and tracking them back down and the rest of the Pokemon League becomes Post-Game stuff. Also, maybe changing Hugh's character arc...Thinking back on it, and though it's been---almost seven years since the last one?---the "Third Versions" have never exactly let me down. Emerald and Platinum are easily my top two games.
Black 2 and White 2 were good, and they had a lot of new content, but I think advertising them as "sequels" kind of...let me down? I didn't play them as much since that was around the time the 3DS was on the scene so I was playing those games, but I feel I went into them expecting more. Beyond a twist on the opening after Roxie it basically became a retread of BW for the middle-half and the plot didn't even try and capitalize on the groundwork BW laid in my opinion.
I feel like had I played B2W2 FIRST without playing BW they easily would have been top-tier, but going into them as what was advertised as the first true sequel "3rd Version" maybe soured me a bit?
Honestly from general fan reaction, I don't think too many people are expecting much from USUM right now.I feel USUM is going to have the same issue. They played up the ULTRA! card, which I think has led people to expecting so much, much more instead of if they simply pushed it as an upgrade. So instead of expecting QOL upgrades like Emerald and Platinum delivered and a few fixes to make the experience more fun with nice little extras, I think everyone wanted to see big changes and so far we haven't had any delivered.

Now that I think of it, Black 2 and White 2 didn't get nearly as much hate when they were announced compared to what Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are getting, right? Sure, there were some people getting mad that we were getting another pair of DS games instead of the next gen on the 3DS, but I really don't remember entire threads filled with people saying they're not interested because it's not Pokemon Switch. Is it because the Switch is such a breakaway hit? The total lack of updates from Gamefreak really doesn't help either, I guess. There seems to be no hype for USUM, which really sucks. I am looking forward to it though. Third versions are almost always good, and while I feel like X and Y could have used a third version more than Sun and Moon, there's plenty of things in Sun and Moon to expand upon and improve.
BW2 didn't have a year long rumor saying it was gonna be on 3DS before its reveal. When S/M dropped people had been all "leaking" that the next game, codenamed Stars was gonna be on Switch. So the US/UM reveal was immediately met with huge backlash from that alone.
This is one reason, but there's several other contributing factors imo.Oh yeah, the Stars thing. I forgot about that. People getting hyped over something that was never confirmed to begin with. It really sucks that USUM are suffering from this level of backlash for not being what was rumored.

TPC barely gives Nintendo any worthwhile content for directs unless they have their own, but with us barely knowing anything and being around 2 months out from launch, I think we will get something substantial here.

Eurogamer got a ton of backlash.
Looking distinctly underwhelming so far.Looks like Corocoro starting to leak
What!? Omg hype nobody would have guessed this.Corocoro says Necrozma fuses with Solgaleo or Lunala to make a new form.
SHOCKING NEWS

If you noticed, with both Gen 6 and so far Gen 7, Game Freak seems to be leading toward the various multiplayer metas around the game rather than the single player experience.
They gave us relaxed breeding requirements to get our flawless competitive Pokémon to just letting us get flawless competitive pokemon be they regular, legendary or even mythical with Hyper Training.
Also the entire trading and battling concept has been expanded due to the greater network features. Pokémon was always meant to be played with others and that goes back to its days with the Gameboy. And I know many vocal players (sorry but usually just Genwunners who just complain and didn't play anything else) don't like it, but if Pokemon was designed for the single player experience, it would have been a SNES game rather than a Gameboy instead.
Was that confirmed? Looking at it, you may be right but the clothes/hairstyles threw me off. I'll just change it to protagonists
It'd be nice if they showed any of it at some point.Don't worry. I'm sure there will be a lot of fun and new stuff in USUM
There is a middle ground between revealing almost everything about a game and revealing almost nothing, you realise?
I don't think they're keeping the info close to their chest because they're looking to blow us away with piles of secrets. I think they're being quiet because there simply isn't much to say, and these games are exactly what they've looked like ever since they were revealed- new versions of Sun and Moon with lightly tweaked content, rushed out to wring the last few pennies out of the 3DS while they can.
