Are you certain it isn't a firewall or DNS setting on your router causing the issue? I don't know how technically minded you are on the subject of wireless networks. Is there anywhere else you could go with public WiFi?

I know how to set stuff but sadly the new connection requires their router/modem and i almost can't edit anything in it =(
I should try when i am at friends house's since there isn't public wi-fi around here
