Pokémon Go |OT 3| "No Officer, I'm a Passenger"

2nd Machamp:
Bullet Punch and Heavy Slam.

Even worth leveling? Hmpf.

Basically no,

You want Counter and Dynamic Punch, or Counter/Close Combat, or Bullet Punch/Dynamic Punch everything else is pretty much ass. With two Steel moves you miss out on Stab and being super effective against Blissey, which is what makes Machamp so useful.

Yeah. Pretty bummed about this.
And now I don't know who to buddy. Got my Larvitar now but I would need 355km just to evolve it.

Evolved my 2nd Dragonite today. Dragon tail and Outrage. OMG YES. Day saved.

Hatched a perfect IV Larvitar and Ghastly in the past week

My joy knows no bounds after the only other perfect IV mon I had was accidentally transferred long ago

Mixed day, but overall positive news for Pokedex.

I got my 7-day streak, and was disappointed to get yet another Dragon Scale. My total item tally:

Dragon Scale x 3 - Used one to get Dragon Breath/Outrage Kingdra, the other two will probably just sit in storage for ages
King's Rock x 2 - Used them to get Bubble/Hydro Pump Politoed and Water Gun/Fire Blast Slowking
Sun Stone x 2 - Used one to get Razor Leaf/Petal Blizzard Sunflora, need 72 more Oddish Candy for Bellossom (will take a long time)
Upgrade x 1 - Haven't used it yet, all of my Porygon have terrible IVs so I might as well wait

Give me a Metal Coat already! I have tons of Scyther and Onix Candy and a few copies of each. I wouldn't mind a King's Rock, so that I can get Slowking with a moveset that isn't trash. I really want Blizzard, but Psychic would be OK. Just don't give me Fire Blast!

IMG_0039.jpg

I finally got enough Cyndaquil Candies to get my first Typhlosion. Had a level 30 Cyndaquil with IVs between 77 and 80, and I evolved him directly into this beast.

Also caught this one in the wild! The moveset is perfect, and the IVs are good, too. I'm especially happy to have something that is really good against Blissey. Poliwrath is the only Fighting type I have with a strong Fighting moveset. My other Fighting types are lacking the new Fighting moves, so they are just kind of worthless now.

I haven't done bulk egg hatching in months, so the hatches have been slow going. Haven't done a real hunt in about three weeks, either.

90km to go!

Interesting, by end I'll have walked 240km total. My Charizard took me 220km total.

Not sure who I'll walk next. Prob either my Chansey for more candy or my Larvitar next.
If I do my Chansey, I'll just need 32 candies to get my Blissey to lv 30. That prob be quicker, and slightly more useful.

I now have more than 1,000,000 stardust. Guess maybe I should start using it?

Jesus man, what are you saving it for? And how are you earning that much? I'm generally pretty frugal about upgrades and almost always have 10 Towers per day.....but even I've never gone over 200K dust.

Got a Dragon Scale on my Streak so that makes Kingdra my 220th Pokémon. He is kinda weak though, only 1800 CP compared to the 1500 CP Seadra I used.

If you don't upgrade, it comes easy. I have a similar amount.

This game ain't gonna last that long don't understand the reason people are waiting, people already are maxing out characters seems silly to hoard at this point.

Why bother using it? Gyms aren't lasting that long that it matters how high I'm placed.

Around my town most gyms are pretty stable now. Everything is Level 10, with the lowest Pokemon being 2500 CP. Gyms in highly frequented parks flip often, but beyond that everything stays. I do pretty minimal maintenance to maintain 10-12 gym slots.

I think most people have realized that is a lot less work to maintain your gyms than it is to take down other teams' gyms.

Are Evolution items still so rare for you guys?
Because I got 2 again yesterday. So far I got:

6 sun stones
4 metal coats
3 Up-grades
3 dragon scales
1 king stone

EDIT: Has there been a nest rotation? Seems like mine changed from Scyther to Nidoran. Fuck

Pretty much.

I probably spend too much time thinking about IVs and the like, considering that there's not really much to do once you actually get awesome monsters.

So I maxed out one of my Gyarados. It stopped at 2987. Guess it will take a while until it can cross the 3k CP

Only till your next level though.

Once I hit lv 33, I can finally get my 100% IV Gyarados to 3000CP. Looking forward to that, though it will need to be knocked out of a gym first. lol

650k XP until lvl 34 so it will take a while.
Saw a shiny 3001CP Gyarados yesterday in a gym *_*

I had honestly forgotten that I have a shiny Gyarados. I'm still not sure if I should use candy levelling it up.

So what's the best strategy for getting into gyms and staying there? Every time I get a Pokemon in a gym, they get kicked out within 30-45 mins. It's hard enough to find gyms less than level 10 around me as it is, so it is frustrating that I can't keep any of my Pokemon in a gym when I finally find one with an empty spot.

Go to neighbourhoods that are occupied by your team and see if they have spots. That's it, really. My town has like a 200k population but the gyms are quite segregated. Usually the downtown area is Mystic territory while Valor and Instinct get the scraps, suburbs, parks and outer town areas.

a war of attrition if you have nothing but your teams level 10 around you. usually there are blocks of teams at a time where they hold and wait on their coins everyday...so chip at your teams borders and at some point the other team might give up and your team holds a new gym. you have to be the one willing to continually fight and level the gym up a few slots though, it's hard to take over territory.

I'm the same way. I've used stardust maybe twice ever. I feel like it doesn't really help that much for gyms, and I'll always catch stronger Pokemon eventually. If I want to take down a gym, I can still just brute force it.

I'm about halfway to level 32 and I have over 1.5 million stardust.

Gyms are more stable where I am. Prob helps that there are a good bunch of gyms in metro Atlanta. They do change hands quite a good bit (much better then back in like Aug/Sept). But most gyms here are stable. Some of which I can leave a Pokemon in for weeks to months at a time. While down the road, gyms barely last hours. lol.

Most of the time, it's luck. Luck of getting into a long term stable gym that has recently gone down. I always keep an eye on a few gyms.

dont know how you guys are doing but a few of my mons have held for 4 weeks, 3 weeks.

just have to find the right gym, and hope spoofers don't frequent it.

The ticket is making road trips to rural towns and placing some great defenders in a gym. Prestige it up so others can place pokemon in it. You need to go off the beaten path but the payoff is certainly worth it.

All the spawns I'm getting at the moment are generic commons, finding anything decent is really becoming a struggle. Plus, nest migration was bad again, got Pikachu for the 2nd time in 4 rotations, Onix for the 2nd time in 3 rotations and all the other nests in my city are unreliable. Running out of reasons to keep playing, pretty much just checking in for my streaks and that's it. I need Gen III.

Ran into a random Forretress. It means I'm down to 12 Pokémon I need for my regional PokéDex. That still includes the two Metal Coat Pokémon and Tyrogue so I'm basically hunting for 9.

Not a lot of Houndour in your area, eh? They're commons here.

Houndour are quite rare to me as well. I lucked out and found a nest in the first Generation II migration. Those 13 are still the only ones I found. So I'm relying on Murkrow for my Dark medal, with a touch of Sneasel in the mornings.

I think I've seen like 5 Houndour total. Still 0 Swinubs... lol

And here Swinubs are a pest, while I haven't seen a single Houndour (or indeed many other G2).

I'm guessing Drowzee and Eevee were rare for you?

This regional thing is annoying, even though it's kinda cool that travel is actually needed to switch up your catches.

So, on my way home, I saw a Draganair on the nearby at a Pokestop on a running trail I usually use in the summer. I parked and immediately tried to get onto the trail. Untill..

You can see in the last image that the river overflooded from all the rain last few nights. I always do avoid this trail when it rains heavily for 2 days do to some little flooding in small sections. But, I've never ever seen it like this!

I was so close too:
