Blue splashes on the floor left behind like footsteps, and blue gunk on the yellow fence as if it climbed over. Can't tell if the digimon-esque distortion artifacts (the stretched blue/green/red cubes) are located in the world or part of a camera distortion. Interesting stuff though.

Avoiding Ghost type pokemon out to kill you would be kinda trippy for the license.
Like Five Nights at Freddy's.

well, anyone who read any of the backstories behind some of the Pokémon knows that the lore is actually kinda fucked up at times... it reaches from the soul of dead children, to Pokémon that lurs kids to hold on to its arms and pulls it into the afterlife.
maybe finally actually putting that fucked up lore into a game in a tangible way is a plan to widen the appeal of the franchise? 🤣

Drifloon carrying off children for example. Yeah.

If it's Z-A it's probably just a new Pokémon reveal via an odd video like the ghost Zoroark

these are clearly in-engine screenshots of some sort, that also look like PS4-ish in fidelity, which means it's not some prerendered CGI. and it doesn't look even remotely like the engine they use for ZA. so this looks very much like a new game.

Looks way too good to be Switch 2 and they wouldn't release anything on PC, so what is this? Promo video with no gameplay? Trailer for something? Some kind of crossover?
It looks like nothing Switch 2 couldn't handle lol.

Pokemon should have continued the spin off route like they did in GC and NDS era, instead of the every growing 100+ pokemon generations which has big scalability issues.

These days they mostly do mobile cozy stuff but if this is a game then I hope they find success there.

They did the same type of teaser for the pokemon H Hookshot was talking about. Clearly Legends Arceus did not launch looking that great.

at no point does that one look like in-engine footage tho.

meanwhile the screenshots they posted have very PS4-like graphics quality, with typical cutbacks like no dynamic shadows for the flashlight in the first picture, or the texture quality of the purple platters on the floor in the second picture, missing ambient occlusion on many elements.
it all looks like in-engine on a close to PS4-spec system... which the Switch 2 is.

Does it? It looks pretty in line with what the system should be capable of in more restrictive environments. I'm intrigued.

Maybe it's the Bloober project? They were supposed to work on a Nintendo exclusive.

Gamefreak are garbage developers so this game will bomb and be terrible. They have one of the worst track records of any developer in the industry. And if they're using purple blood instead of red for censoring issues then this 'horror game' will be the equivalent to a pg13 kids movie with jump scares.

I can definitely see what you mean, but they did use #PokemonLegendsZA in the tweet, so you would imagine this this would be associated with that game somehow.

yeah, but I can't see how this would be related.
maybe it's a Switch 2 exclusive mode? almost a separate game included with it? like Bowser's Fury was in the Switch version of Mario 3D World...

because this absolutely looks like a completely different engine, but also looks like its visuals are constrained by hardware similar to the switch 2, and not like something you'd render offline for a teaser/trailer

How did you come to that conclusion lmao
Its probably of those stupid "teasers" either about pokemon or gimmick (like megas). Let the braindead pokemon fanbase dissecate those pictures.

This was my first thought and it would be a really cool addition to the game. Though I feel like if it had substantial new content the Switch 2 Edition would be $20 more than the Switch version rather than $10, so I don't know. It's intriguing regardless.
