Well to be fair it's a remake of the original Ruby and Sapphire so we already know who the Champion is.
Though I wonder who's the 8th gym leader will be?

Some random things:
-The demo only saves after beating it once. Not when language is set.
-You can't cancel evolution in the demo. No messing up events for you.
-You can white out in the demo. I did so against the Admins. My Blaziken was too slow (its IV were ass, 14 at best in any stat and ~4 in speed) to KO Metagross before it could take down Sharpredo (Flamethrower is a 2HKO anyways vs. Metagross and speed boost ensured it went down) but With Camerupt left it had used yawn on me then set up with curse while I was sleeping to take me down. I lost 288 money for doing so and was warped back to Mossdeep as if I had never gone on the adventure (so my Blaziken was now a Combusken) and there was some text by Steven (playing in Japanese so couldn't read it).
-Playing the EU demo in Japanese does not get Steelix. So it is a regional variant. Speaking of which...why does the Japanese demo lack the 7 languages the EU demo has (I assume it does as Joe played it in Japanese)...could it be an earlier version?

So err, I just started up the demo and the first fight was against Team Magma, but I swear that my colleague at work had her first fight against Aqua. Was I imagining things or does it change who you fight?
As a side note, shame on you for being lazy Game Freak. The background for the battle in Mossdeep was literally the Lumiose City alleyways fight background.

Indeed. This has me worried a little if they're doing that with the main games. Relying on Japanese version for game coverage thanks to Nintendo of Europe's crazy scheduling. Will complicate things a bit for me if the Japanese version lacks languages.
But, I recall the Japanese XY demo at the PGS not having language options, but a friend is insisting it did.
UK GAF (and rest of Europe?) I've received 2 additional codes for the demo, so I would like to share them with GAF.

I managed to get a code from Nintendolife after being told on Twitter that according to Nintendo, it wouldn't work outside the UK which I knew was bullshit because they're never locked between countries from the same region unless it involves currency. I got a Smash code from SuperSah who's in the UK and that worked. They even wanted me to test out a code (which I'm assuming was not the demo) to see if I was telling the truth but I couldn't at the time. A few hours later when I got back they just said that it wasn't open to anyone outside the UK. Thanks to whoever suggested Hola.

As long as the demo makes a general release, as with Smash Bros, it doesn't bother me. I do agree that a lot of people will miss out otherwise. I don't know what a "trainer newsletter" is. I do know that I am on the fence about purchasing, and a demo could seal the deal. It seems odd to have a demo, yet not release it.

I don't like it too, but it's unlimited use with transferable stuff in the full game + people talking about it everywhere to try to get a code. They probably see this as a good marketting plan.

On the UK demo I tried setting it to Japanese and got the same suggesting it is game version that determines that. I can do the other non-English languages (thought I think it is futile) as I've yet to beat the demo (which saves it and removes that).
