Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum have the best OST

YAWN

Ask me which Shakespeare novel is best
Been playing a lot of Pokemon recently, and the D/P/Pt soundtrack is just amazing. I love Pokemon music, its always charming, relaxing, and pumping, but the 4th gen is just something else. The Jazz influence was such a way to go, its so chilled out at night and adventurous through the day.The use of high notes really portray Sinnoh's snowy region well too.

Here's some examples -

I love all Pokemon music, every gen has it stand out tracks, and the recent gen 6 is no exception, but I honestly can't wait for when Diamond and Peal get remade in 5 or so years. Sinnoh always seemed like the least loved region to me most places I go, but god damn if it isnt one of my favourites. Just out edged by Hoenn and Kalos, but its really close.

While Gen 4 has some great stuff, Gen 5 and 6 have amazing tracks

Unova Route 10
Sycamore's Theme
Snowbelle City
Pokémon Village
N's Castle

So many classics the list goes on.

Mmm, it is indeed a very nice OST. Though a lot of tracks make me want to sleep... maybe that's intentional? Quite relaxing, a lot of them.

Now, if only their sound samples were up to snuff for anything not jazz-y... HGSS and BW were a major improvement by simply not sounding... funny.

I loved the Elite 4/Gym, Trainer and Champion Themes. Gen 4 is when I was most into the series I think, really enjoyed it. Wild Pokemon theme actually felt kinda weak though lol.

Gen IV has one of the soothing soundtracks ever.

I loved it. So relaxing!

My personal fav is Gen V, though. Loved the funky synth.

And the best 'rival battle' music.
Which is fortunate because Lucas was the most frustrating one ever, given how often he turned up out of no where and decimated my team.

Have to say Gen 4 has my second least favorite OST in the series (Gen 3 in the bottom). However, it's still a great OST. Pokémon music in the main series is never actually bad.

I have a soft spot for the R/S/E OST in my heart, screw the trumpet haters, stuff was in one word sensational.

D/P/P is definitely the runner up, Dialga/Palkia, Arceus, Giratina, snowpoint city, Galactic hideout are all themes that come to mind.

Edit: oh yeah, totally forgot this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1Egwloq6Lk
Soooo good.

Honestly speaking the Pokémon always had good music across all the generation.

Though gen 4 had the best, toughest and sexy champion so it wins by default. ;p

Where the hell is The Last Guardian Barry's theme?

I love Barry, he was the last good rival with a full team.

I can agree with this. ORAS and BW are close behind.

I really loved the version of Jubilife City heard in XY. If the music in the eventual DP remakes resembles that, then my soul will smile.

I will just go crazy when they finally announce the Sinnoh remake, it's my favorite gen and region.

I haven't played a Pokémon mainline game other than RBY and a few mins of Black or White. I don't remember which. I love Nintendo's OSTs, though. Is this considered the best one to check out for Pokémon games?

Gen 3 has the best OST hands down.
Nothing can beat those trumpets.

I actually don't like Gen 3 all that much, but fuck me if the soundtrack isn't goddamn amazing.
I actually have to get the clean version of it still. And the Alpha/Omega OST too.

Well, anything is better than gen 3's

But seriously, Idk what is my favorite. Gen 4 is REALLY good though, but so is Gen 1 and 2.

Haven't played 5 and 6.

I always preferred Hoenn's warm atmosphere and brazen French horns, but I'm having some serious nostalgia for Sinnoh's long snowy mountain paths and pianos.

RSE's music reigns supreme now and always, but DPP's was still solid work. After that it fell off a cliff and hasn't recovered, remakes notwithstanding.
