Pokken in NicoNico Stream feat. Famitsu (Jan 23)

They also confirmed that they included (and are working on) a Pokemon that was heavily requested during the Twitter campaign they ran right after the game was announced and they'll announce who at a later day.

With all the freedom of motion, this game feels to me like it might be almost to 3D fighters as Smash Bros is to 2D fighters. Well, it would be if Powerstone wasn't already that maybe. :p

I'm loving today's roster updates! Suicune hype.

Depends on the techniques I guess? D-pad is good for techniques in some serious fighting games, but who knows. It could change in the end. I imagine the console version will have customizable controls though.

But i don't mean analog. It could very well have a digital thumbstick. A Dpad is just uncomfortable.

It's really strange to me that they went to the trouble of designing a controller for arcade machines, rather than reusing sticks and buttons they could use from existing arcade production.

I get the feeling they wanted to build the game around those controls, due to an inevitable console release... at least that's the hope. :)

If they're using a dpad, I don't understand why they opted for controllers instead of sticks. Do they think most Pokemon fans (who would play this but don't normally play fighting games) would be uncomfortable using one?

I'm sure leaving half the thumb-skin on the pad will be more uncomfortable.

Magikarp?

This being a Harada game, I think you're onto something:

Magikarp?
You know, it would be great if they had characters that actually evolve mid-battle (not the temporary Mega Evolution that they showed). This happened a lot in the anime, right? It's one of the things I wish were included in the regular games, sometimes I had a pokémon grow multiple levels in one trainer battle and evolving it after the battle made it lose some moves.

The bird with the leek. His special technique is the traditional manga japanese cold cure

Also nintendo must really be regretting ever having made Raichu

I wouldn't be surprised if Pikachu gets a Mega-Evolution eventually, and Raichu not get one.

They always make exceptions for Pikachu for everything else, so might as well let an unevolved 2nd stage Pokemon mega-evolve.

16. Greninja
17. Serperior/Arbok
18. Tyranitar

How I think the roster will be:
1. Pikachu (Electric)
2. Lucario (Steel)
3. Blaziken (Fire)
4. Gardevoir (Fairy)
5. Machamp (Fighting)
6. Suicune (Water)
7. Greninja (Dark)
8. Mewtwo (Psychic)
9. Jigglypuff (Normal)
10. Charizard (Flying)
11. Squirtle
12. Ivysaur (Grass/Poison)
13. Meloetta
14. Hoopa (Ghost)
15. Zekrom (Dragon)
16. Regice (Ice)
17. Garchomp (Ground)
18. Genesect (Bug)
19. Tyranitar (Rock)
20. Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan

I feel like the first ten are a shoe-in. Squirtle and Ivysaur might also be pretty likely due to having been fighters in Smash before. The next ten depend on what they're going for: type coverage, gen coverage, or a lot of fighting types.

I'm hoping:

1. Pikachu
2. Lucario
3. Machamp
4. Blaziken
5. Suicune
6. Gardevoir

7. Ludicolo
8. Pangoro
9. Magikarp
10. Archeops
11. Bisharp
12. Meganium
13. Greninja
14. Gliscor
15. Muk
16. Haxorus
17. Krookodile
18. Dunsparce
19. Mewtwo
20. Hoopa
