Oh my. Oh my oh my oh my. I refuse to believe Obama will win until McCain concedes, but I think I just allowed myself to believe for just one second, and wow....

I'm not sure I'll know what to do with myself if Obama wins this thing.

Ill leave it on my office TV but my HD will be set on CNN or MSNBC.
I'm gonna have internet streams open to CNN and MSNBC. I might watch fox just for laughs.

I'd like to see how they spin house race lol.

At 20 seconds onwards, kids "squealing" my ass.
Well, I'm as PC sensitive as they come, but I'm really not seeing that. Especially since the "squealers" seemed like pretty whitebread suburbanites. Just not seeing it.

I hope Obama fucking demolishes McCain in the final debate, or that McCain has some kind of meltdown moment. My hope is that the RNC pulls the plug on the McCain campaign to try to save some of their house members, and Obama wins in a massive landslide.

I'll only watch Fox to see the meltdown, which won't really occur until the race is called. God forbid I tune in to Fox and Obama somehow loses. Talk about salt in the wound.

The RNC Decided to take out a loan and fund both, that does not mean they can't pull the plug on McCain, but it makes it less likely.

Guys, I think I may be OD'ing on hopium....

that poll cant be right.

I must be seeing things right?

Let Fox do what they want to do - it clearly isn't having the desired effect.

If they want to waste their time attempting to get a different result from doing the same thing over and over again, best of luck to them.. they'll be hysterical to watch 21 nights from now.

It's not helping them win the election, but it does scare me how dangerous this is. Wish they had some respect for the welfare of this country.

538 only has McCain at 4.2% chance of winning now.

interesting.. the mathematical chances of a ball of packed snow surviving in "hell" or the center of a volcano are 4.345987%.

So, the Dems are now picking up 8 seats per 538.com..

we need Mississippi or Georgia to pull through.

What does all this mean exactly? (especially the win percentage)

He runs a set of simulations, out of all the simulations he runs, Obams wins 95.8% of them

In the first three weeks of September, Barack Obama ran 1,342 television commercials in the Washington media market that reaches heavily populated and contested Northern Virginia.

According to The Nielsen Company, in the same period and market, John McCain aired just eight commercials on broadcast stations.

If it wasn't for the internet I would haven't seen any McCain ads.

538 feeds polling data into a statistical model and then runs 10,000 simulations based on the model. The win % is how often McCain or Obama won based on current polling; another way to put it is, based on today's polling that's the chance that they each have of winning the election in November. (It's a forward-looking model.)

The EV number is the average number they get across the 10,000 simulations.

If I understand right, they use state poll numbers to run multiple simulations (thousands, iirc) of the election. Win percentage means the percentage of the simulations that ended up giving the win to a particular candidate.
