I agree with Elephant Knievel. McCain is largely irrelevant outside being a representative for the GOP. And I'm quite excited to see how many Palin will win over come election day.

A bit more than half an hour to Morning Joe. Yesterday morning, he was in hysterics in reaction to the New York Times/CBS 14-pt lead poll. This morning should provide some good entertainment once again.. will he admit that snap polls show an Obama win, or will he ignore them and take a more Hannitylike (read: delusional) path?

It's turning out to be the latter. Scarbs is basically preaching Conservative economic ideology so he's harping on how Obama is going to raise taxes.

What I want to know is how do the Repugs expect to balance the budget? Bob Schiefer asked how McCain would balance the budget and he just quickly shrugged it off to deliver his "I'm not bush" zinger. But I've watched all 3 debates and I have no idea how he plans to balance the budget. Obama may be "tax & spend" but McCain seems to be "tax-cut, borrow & spend", which is pretty much the same as the last 8 years.

I wish Obama would clearly state why taxes need to be raised on the top 5%. I think he needs to clearly say that if we're going to come close to balancing the budget or introduce new programs, then the money has to come from somehwere. McCain's only solution seems to be reducing earmarks and a Federal Govt. spending freeze (which won't happen). You can't run two wars, improve healthcare, improve education, start a major energy program while at the same time giving everyone huge tax cuts. It's no wonder Republicans run up huge deficits.

Not sure if this was posted or not, but the guy from the Ghosthunter reality tv show, and joe the plumber could be twins

As clueless as John McCain is, I have a hard time believing he'd blurt out something that would make him look so stupid. I wonder if he really meant, 'ZERO?!' as in, 'yeah, no fucking way that's happening' instead of 'ZERO?! WHAT AN AWESOME DEAL PRESIDENT OBAMA!'

That's exactly how it came across. It made Obama's image of change come across a 1000 times stronger in contrast than usual. I was also amazed at how McCain acted after he said it. First amazed beyond relieve, then it's like he realized that he flunked it for himself, and then it's like he is spinning it for himself in his mind as a positive thing and starts smiling like a smart ass. This man needs to retire.

This is epic.

Zero?????

When Obama said "zero", I suddenly reminded when Steve Rice,VP for SCEA (I think it was his title) back in the mid 90´s announced the "$299" pricetag for PS1... McCains reaction was well, the Saturns reaction to that price..

And now all that's left between now and election day is a thirty minute OBAMA INFOMERCIAL.

So good

The informercial some more fuckcrazy from the McCain campaign. Now with 100% less backing from the RNC.

They probably won't do it, but this is telling
And Obama is weighing broadening a map that already appears big and red into four more states. A top adviser, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, said Obama is considering expanding his active campaign back into North Dakota and Georgia, from which he’d shifted resources, and into the Appalachian heartland of West Virginia and Kentucky.

Scarbs of course is saying all the flash polls are garbage.

What he doesn't understand is that McCain did a great job appealing to conservatives but he did a poor job of appealing to Independents and bridging the gaps to Dems. He's not going to make any progress just appealing to the base. This is lost on Scarbs.

I think Obama would be well served on delivering an epic speech about transformation and delivering for the middle class, as well as working across the aisles to bring real change. That's where Obama excels-- delivering epic speeches. One last good one will help lead a lastnig impression for voters going into the booth. "You now have a choice. You can put the disasterous past 8 years behind us and cast your vote for the future by casting a vote for Biden and I, or you can choose to revisit 4 more years of the policies that is leaving America in ruins. Will you do your part in bringing the change we need?"

Geez.... They need to get another liberal on the set of Morning Joe.

Scarbs was in full misinformation mode about Obama's response to the John Lewis comments, but no one on the set said anything. Mika is a very mediorce debater and easily gets talked over by Scarbs.

I thnk Scarbs is in meltdown mode right now. This morning he really is sounding more like one of the FoxNews blowhards than a moderate Republican.

Ugh, the Today Show just had a segment with a reporter standing in front of "Joe's" house. If I have to hear about this guy any more I am going to barf.

BenjaminBirdie said:
Am I crazy or did Obama not say Lewis' comparison was "inappropriate" not "an appropriate"?

You're not crazy. Obama said he doesn't agree with those comments. But the Morning Joe snippet cut his response extremely short. So Joe was judging it off a spliced soundbite. Scarbs knows Obama didn't really endorse John Lewis entire statement, but he knew everyone on the set was too spineless or stupid to say anything.

Anyway, I'm impressed, Obama remained soo cool even when McCain was shooting at him! This man is awesome <3

I wish we had someone like him here in Italy :( But no, we've had Berlusconi for 15 years, we will still have him for another 10 years or so >_<

I was reading the morning newspaper, and saw that Obama's tax plan will actually bring tax cuts for 81.3% instead of 95%. If so, why does Obama continue to lie about this?

Also, about Joe the Plumber, I was watching Morning Joe this morning, and Joe said that under Obama's tax plan, he wouldn't be able to afford the company he was buying because of the tax hike that would come along with it.

:(

Thats what happens when Bush doubles the size of the Fed deficit... shit gets real for the next guy. It is fantasy land to think the gov. won't have to increase revenues.

In the future ahead, a lot of americans will not be able to buy shit they could easily afford before. (or at least fund with a loan =)

Regardless of whom you elect.

It's a tax cut for 95.5 percent of all households with children, 81.3 percent of all households. So when he says he's going to provide a tax cut to 95% of families, he means it. Don't make extra inferences.

America won't be able to afford any new programs without the tax hikes... unless we're going to mortgage our future and sell out the future generations even more to China.

Reading a transcript of the debate last night and forgot how disjointed and flat-out awkward this statement was -
MCCAIN: And it's not the fact -- it's not the fact that Senator Obama chooses to associate with a guy who in 2001 said that he wished he had have bombed more, and he had a long association with him. It's the fact that all the -- all of the details need to be known about Senator Obama's relationship with them and with ACORN and the American people will make a judgment.

And my campaign is about getting this economy back on track, about creating jobs, about a brighter future for America. And that's what my campaign is about and I'm not going to raise taxes the way Senator Obama wants to raise taxes in a tough economy. And that's really what this campaign is going to be about

I'm not, I'm just telling you all what my newspaper said and was looking for clarification.
Sorry.

WRT Joe... Didn't he say he was buying a business that earns $250k+ profit? If this is the case, Joe should have no problem with his money. If this is not the case, and $250k+ is just revenue, it is likely he would benefit under Obama's plan... Correct me if I'm wrong, as this isn't my field.

I sat I watched and I listened last night and I my conclusion is that Hustler was an angry nervous tight rope walker waiting for the winds of political war to subside and leave a teleprompter to bridge the gap between his mouth and his brain. The sharp evil dictators that he would meet with as CIC are far better at getting their point across and dominating the people that get in their way.The world leaders he would meet directly with will not accept the BS that this phoney light wheight will try to spread.Hustler reminds me of the wbboei story about Hercules the stable boy and his losing fight to clean up after horses. In The Hustler case there are no horses, just his own BS.

And am I seeing and hearing a subliminal from Hillary? AT her CNN interview with little Bluster,he asked again if she would accept an offer of VP for The Hustler,if asked.I think there was a slight hint of what might occur shortly.Hillary said being the NY Sen. is very important and we need all of the Dem.senators we can elect to be able to have a veto proof Senate. In my humble analysis,I believe that she is telling us that The Hustler will either lose the GE or he will fall on his bed of Acorn fraudulent actions or the American Voters will come to their senses and run him out of office. She is still standing tall in the eyes of the party for her undying loyalty and buyers remorse will rear its realistic head and she will return standing tall loyal patriotic and ready to sve her country from itself.

Eww. Not that "only 80% get a tax cut" is bad, but using slimy wording so people without children aren't families to bump up a bullet point number sucks.

This.

When you're in a HUGE deficit and need to reform/improve a slew of government programs, then you can't expect tax rates to be extremely low.

Most Americans don't serve in the military or do an ounce of community service. Taxes are usually the only way most Americans contribute directly to the country. It amazes me how flag waving USA chanting conservatives get up in arms when asked to give more of their paycheck back to their country.

Obviously I'm not in favor of taxing excessively especially when the government is spending irresponsibly. But wars cost money. A Manhattan project like energy plan costs money. Reducing the national debt means increasing revenue. If you want these things you have to be willing to sacrifice a bit more of your paycheck.
