Politico: Sanders Consistently Beats Donald Trump; It's Getting Harder To Overlook

An attack ad against Sanders would be how he wanted to dump nuclear waste on poor hispanic family.
Like Trump doesn't even need to dirty his hand with this and it would be over in a second.
My point is "Trump may think you're criminals but he doesn't you to live in a nuclear waste dump".
And that's just 1 angle that could crucify him.
We could do this all day and write attack ads on Sanders and not be done in a month.

Those of you with chronic pain? Bernie recommends meditation and Yoga! Do you trust him with your health?

Another drop in the attack ad bucket

The point that everyone brings up (and rightly so) is that Sanders hasn't faced the kind of vetting or scrutiny that Hillary has. This is true. But it is also true that a) Hillary has been a public figure in politics on the national stage for two decades and b) her negatives are at record levels, second only to Trump's. Trump has been a public figure for three decades (more, really) but a politician for a year. Her negatives might beat his out by November.

If that doesn't scare the fuck out of you as a liberal, there's not much that will.

Anyway, she's our candidate. I didn't support her in the primary, but over Trump Hillary is a no-brainer. I'll donate to her campaign and do what I can to support her.

Best case scenario, the GOP House picks a president of their choice instead.

In other words, suicide either way.

Yes, but they can only choose between the top 3 receivers of electors, from which a GOP House would invariably select Trump.

So, you're right: screwed either way.

Trump's path to electoral victory is just so shaky and narrow that I don't really see myself freaking out about this. I don't see any way he takes Florida, and without that state he's pretty much locked out.

It's easy to get worked up about nationwide polls, but then you ultimately realize that it's how the candidates perform in about a half dozen states that really matter.

There's a reason Republicans were desperate to stop Trump, and it's not because he's an "outsider" but more because he looks to be a disaster in the general election.

You know I keep forgetting about this; but every time it's brought up I have the same level of shock. Seriously, the general campaign against Bernard would be over in a week. He would be engulfed in the heat of a thousand suns if the spotlight were shone on him for real.

fast forward to the half way mark

Wow, he's making a lot of sense in that 'speech.' If people would fall for that, why wouldn't they fall for any other attack from Trump's playbook against Hillary?

Also worth mentioning, Hillary's pitfalls against Trump are her own.

Exactly. The national poll is completely meaningless, it comes down to a handful of states that are in play.

However, I'm not sure about Florida. While you'd think it would be obvious, at the same time, he owns a lot of property and thus politicians there, including Democrats. Look at how he got charges dropped against him there for fraud and Trump U (writing a check to the prosecutor's election campaign) or against his campaign manager (he partied with the prosecutor's wife). It's probably his second home besides NY, and Florida has a lot of NY transplants...

He's completely alienated both black and hispanic/latino communities, which are significant parts of north and south Florida respectively. Those groups enthusiastic about Clinton, but even if they weren't they'd probably still turn out just to vote against him.

Has he alienated Cuban Latinos? They're not generally interested in the same things as the majority of Latino Americans.

it's amazing how many times it has to be said that bernie is the definition of being handled by kid-gloves. the GOP was literally salivating at the idea of his candidacy, because even trump would have a chance once the notoriously dumb shit bernie's said/done with USSR, castro, sandanistas etc comes up. all these dumbass "alien vs predator" memes trying to equivocate hilary & trump? ya'll literally have no idea just how toxic a known socialist with that kinda track record (before any of the deep investigations come down) would do against even trump
we're talking about an "exciting" candidate that can't even get people to show up during the primaries, and ya'll want him center stage

At the end of the day national polling doesn't matter right now. Show me a path to 270 for Donald Trump. I haven't seen one.

please, please read this post
it got a handful of laughing gifs, but deserved far more

I don't think it's that much of a stretch to believe that Trump's stance against Mexican immigration will probably extend to Cubans as well.

Donald Trump is the catalyst who could force a decisive break between Miami-Dade County’s influential Cuban-American voters and the Republican Party, a new poll has found.

Thirty-seven percent of respondents supported Trump, a number that is still higher than the 31 percent who backed Clinton — but also “the lowest in history that any potential Republican candidate polls among this traditionally loyal demographic,” according to Moreno. He added that the results put likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton within “striking distance” of winning over the influential voting demographic.

It's Babby's First Elections© for a lot of these folks.

Are we disagreeing about anything? It really seems like you're agreeing with me that he hasn't had the same amount of scrutiny and attacks shes had which would explain why she'd be polling worse than Sanders.
Sanders supporters suffer from a special kind of cognitive dissonance.

Bernie needs to wrap it the fuck up and start using all the influence and power he gained this cycle to help sway more democrats in his direction for the future. And the people still pushing for him to stay in the race are indeed naively and willfully ignorant towards the fact he has lost. But using phrases like the one above to demean his supporters is both childish and assholish. I get that some are annoying, but don't stoop below their level just to feel good about your witty one liners.
