Not trying to be a dick but it's a long shot, she at least appeared on Namco X Capcom so it's not out of the possible inclusions. Maybe if there's a reboot of the DC series it could be more probable.

I think if anything it would tie in with a Marvel movie. If its based on MCU perfect to advertise with a new movie. Im expecting a summer release. Perfect time to get sales on a bi property like this maybe closer to early September.

yeah that psylocke boat shipped a longtime ago. Regina definitely has more of a chance.

Where did that come from? I've seen a few people mention it over the past week. Masamune Date was on the list of considered TvC characters, so I don't think Capcom has any issues with him.

Who knows if any of it has any basis in truth, but here are two major points that I remember getting around Basara fan sites and the like, back then, for why Masamune likely didn't get past the list.

1) On on hand, the rumor was that they didn't want to give a spot to a SB character based on a historical personality, since even though he was hot in Japan, he'd be lost on the West if they were interested in trying TvC's chances abroad (even though Saki, another obscure JP-only Capcom char, did make it through). And since TvC originally came out in 2008, and "Samurai Heroes" and Funimation's dub of the anime didn't come until 2010, the timing may not have been good for them to be interested in putting in a SB entrant in a "Vs." game.

2) On the other hand altogether, Sengoku BASARA X (ASW's 2D fighter) was still pretty recent. Maybe they didn't want to step on Arc's toes by putting SB's leading man in another fighting game right away, even though SBX was already a failure by that point. Or maybe they just didn't want to "overexpose" Masamune in the same way that Kobayashi had his reasons for keeping Dante out and suggested Nero, instead.


Even after all these years, I'd still be very interested in knowing the truth for why he didn't make it. The mid-to-late 2000s and 2010s was when BASARA FEVER was its highest, with the brand getting Pizza Hut promotions and the like in Japan. If any time made most sense to have a SB character join a Vs. roster, it was back then.
