The Polygon author is doubling down on no X-Men on his Twitter, says multiple sources.
They got no excuse to not put him in. Capcom needs as much sales as they can get. They know he's been heavily wanted since before even 3 was announced, he's got multiple weapons so he can be any kind of player you need him to be, he'd generate hype, it's an easy choice. Them not putting him in would basically be a "yeah it probably makes sense but we don't want him in so there" type of thing.
Which is what I fear might happen. I mean look at what they did with SFV but even before that, look at what they did with MvC3/UMvC3. They've been making bad choices.

They game still looks fantastic imo, and have some really dope effect (paging reading effect at the end of the super). I can't wait to see what they do with the additional power of current gen consoles

It's going to be interesting to hear the voice of Chris Redfield voice Cap in this (personally I prefer RCS's Cap for sounding less macho and more down-to-earth like Chris Evans' portrayal)

Cap is one of the few characters I think is fine without a big moveset overhaul. You can adjust properties and stuff, but his moveset is so true to the character that I would be fine if it went unchanged. They could go even more bonkers with the shield bouncing stuff if they wanted to, though.
I don't want them to overhaul any movesets. Every one of them is iconic.
shield bouncing + more durability on return would make him infinitely more interesting and versatile without removing the kind of 'wall' like character he is.
he's actually super cool in 3 but a bit too 'straightforward'
spiderman needs a rework to just be more simple in a lot of ways because he's basically marvel's biggest hero. i think making him as simple as spencer would do a lot in that regard, haha
maybe multiple spider-characters, with spidey getting a reworked moveset and spider-gwen or scarlet spider or miles morales or whoever having the classic more technical+interesting movement based style? idk

Iron Man needs to be completely redone. He felt stale as fuck in MvC3

all he needs is a real dash/airdash and launcher. with those suddenly he's mega cool and easy to use and a huge fucking problem in like almost every single way assuming he kept everything else.
like, he's so, so close to being cool but those 3 massive basic things fuck him so bad
I'm pretty convinced Iron Man will just be tuned to take a Magneto-esque role. Fastest tridash, go-to flight character, reliable supers.
I hope they keep Proton Cannon and Iron Avenger (even if it's no longer a Level 3.. If Level 3s or Level 2s even continue to exist), though.

And he needs way more variety in projectiles + Melee moves.
The movies have done such a great job capturing him with his whole arsenal -- wrist and shoulder rockets, tracking / homing missels, red laser, hand beams, ect...
And ya, his flight / manuverability needs to be massively improved. Launcher shouldn't miss so much or have to be worked around so much.

Yes, Groot is a huge walking tree who's pretty straightforward in what he can do. He hits people and says "I am Groot!" while doing so.
