I know MVC3 started with 36 characters. I really hope they would able to port assets from MVC3 (skeletons, animations, etc) to MVC4 in order to save some time so they could padding the roster numbers. I know it's probably unlikely but who knows.

Think about it, Nina can be Storm 2.0. She can fly and cast lightning and wind spells!

Well, I was thinking that she could level up and her spells would become stronger.

Y'all think we're gonna get a teaser, a proper trailer w/gameplay, a live demo/exhibition, or what?

I feel like we'll get live gameplay in addition to a trailer a-la SFV.

same i think we will get live gameplay and Akuma will be one of the characters shown. We will get a CG teaser hinting at a possible story on the smaller scale, something similar to SF V story.

Combofiend is going to come out on stage, pull down his pants and show his ass with MVC4 logo on it.

They did this for SFV so maybe? I'm all for a bigger cast.

Had a quick thought: even though the roster will mostly be based around the MCU, they're still most likely going to take after their comic book selves and stuff, right? The only MCU is the character in name rather than how they're portrayed? I know no one has a real answer, but I'm just thinking about the likelihood.

Nah, we'll get CG reveal again. Showing off at least 3 characters per side. With 2 mainstays and 1 newcomer on each I bet.

That's close to how they did MVC3

Nah I got the leaked trailer already, it's just a clock with Yipes' face on it and he asks When's Mahvel over and over until the screen turns entirely white and then Squirrel Girl says GRAVITEE SQUEE

If Ryu is fighting anyone that's not Wolverine, then I'm tapping out.

You might be tapping out since I get a feeling they'll want to establish some new stars. We'll see 2 new Marvel stars and at least 1 new from Capcom. IMO we'll get Star-Lord, Ant-Man and probably someone who was in 3 from Marvel's side while on the Capcom side we'll get Ryu, Akuma (he'll be in SFV and MvC3) and probably someone new that fans want (Megaman or something).

Probably a teaser and then live gameplay through a demo. Might even get a trailer when they're done but it'll be more than we expect I think.

You know, the Xmen ban thing isn't a written law. It's more a general direction they've taken. I can imagine Marvel easing up on that if it hurts the product as the exclusion of key characters like Magneto and Wolverine would do. So maybe just those two make it in.

The trajectory seemed to change shortly after the Fantastic Four reboot flopped. It was around then, that the Marvel/Fox TV deal happened (or at least was made public knowledge), relations between the two seemed to calm a bit, and X-Men merchandising and promotion started to pick back up.

If the Marvel series continues to do well, it's almost an inevitability we'll see X-Men again.

So it's probably a good idea, if all rumors are true, for everyone that cares at all to buy the game, but make a hell of a lot of noise about the X-Men being gone.

ideally

*Show Spiderman gameplay at some point during conference
*Reveal DMC5 at some point during conference.

*Host A and Host B get on stage towards end.
A: This was pretty great wasn't it.
B: Yes. Super exciting. Spiderman looked like a really good game.
A: Yeah, it looked pretty cool. DMC5 was cooler though. Dante was easily the coolest game character here.
B: I don't know. Spiderman is pretty cool. He could probably beat Dante in a fight.
A: What no way.
B: Yes way.
A: Wanna bet.
B: Lets go.
*Immediately start playing a MvC4 match of Spiderman vs Dante.
*Crowd goes wild.

I think MvC1-style assists are inferior for two reasons:
1) The assists exist without other traits, and so it's too easy for one to stand out over others. Contrast this with a 3v3 system, where you also have to consider DHCs, comeback potential, etc. 3v3 leads people to use Dr. Doom over Shuma-Gorath, but I do not think that would be the case if Shuma-Gorath were just an assist without point liability.

2) MvC1-style means you get ONE assist. 3v3 means two assists, which enhances the possibilities in team construction.

3) 3v3 helps balance the risk/reward of assists much more than a MvC1 system. In MvC1 you throw out Colossus whenever you feel like it, and if he doesn't accomplish his goal - oh well. In Marvel 3 a bad assist call can lose you the game, and a huge part of the game is manipulating the screen to ensure your assist call is protected. Contrast that with MvC1 where assists get you in for free.

3v3 is just a better battle system overall. It would really disappoint me if Capcom regressed on this point.
Couldn't have said it better

This. Boycotting the game is gonna hurt Capcom more than it'll hurt Marvel. But at the same time, we need to make our voices heard if the worst-case scenario happens.

This, too.

Yep.

If you really care about the STINKING MUTANTS, then you really just need to make your voice heard. This could be the game that helps make the final push towards a compromise (if one isn't already being made), since it'll be the first time more people are made aware of this issue and haven't been privy to Neoxon's explanations in the last few cycles on this forum.

I'm ambivalent to the mutants being there, but I guess I'll do what I gotta to get Doom and any FF-related stuff like Super Skrull back.

Seeing Combo and Mike play that very early build of V had got me hyped, so seeing that in Marvel form would be perfect. If not, a trailer would suffice. Above all else, I'm just thirsty for information in any form.

They have their own sources. If you want to say that maybe Polygon and the GAFfers here shared the same source, perhaps you might be right; but they did not plagiarize this thread.

I won't go that far but, you would argue that they plagiarized if any one of the Fox or X-Men characters are in the game?

If it will be more similar to MvC1 than 2 or 3, they need to give Morrigan back her Eternal Slumber.
I learned how to pull that off before I could do a Raging Demon.

I think Daredevil will finally get to make his debut in a fighting game. I was sure he was going to become DLC for UMV3, but instead we had to watch him the background the entire time.

I personally would be A-ok with them giving morrigan a break and using any other dark stakler character
Them including Morrigan doesn't preclude them from adding other DS characters. I would prefer they keep her in (she's my main in any game she's in) but I would also like Capcom to remember that Darkstalkers has more characters than Felicia, Hsien-ko, and Morrigan and include some others.
