As for DmC I didnt't think the assets in that game looked great, at least not compared to DMC4. Lots of muddy textures, flat geometry, a lot of stiff or awkward animations and weirdly modeled characters. Edit: Actually, upon reflection I take it back. DmC does look great when compared to a lot of games out there. It's just that compared to DMC4 which came out 5 years before and that looks better in a lot of ways and nearly equal in others, DmC was disappointing.

Anyway, on that subject, Team Ninja would be a great dev partner. I still don't like their art direction much, it's a touch too cheesecakey, but their art assets and animations are fucking STELLAR.

Well...Nioh I would think showcases that they can have restraint when they want to. Of course whether that much was self-imposed, or because Kou Shibusawa kept them in check, remains to be seen.

Otherwise, I wouldn't worry. If Square Enix didn't give them leeway for Dissidia, no way is Marvel going to let anything slip by them.

Yeah, I'm still curious what fan servicy characters means specifically in this context. Highly requested? More obscure? More Mega-Man characters? Unused RE characters? What's left?

They finally got some Ghosts and Goblins characters in the last game, and Haggar from FF. I'm having a hard time thinking of any of their more iconic/classic arcade games with no reps yet.

Haggar won EVO Twice. Once with Viscant and once with Kane Blue River. Two time champion. I think he did fine bein in Marvel.

He was also boss as fuck when I made him in Scribblenauts.

He's in the steam workshop BTW. All my stuff was programmed to behave like their game counterparts so Haggar grabs folks and hoodlum launchers them repeatedly till they die.

The developer largely won't matter. They wouldn't outsource the entire production incl. game design, simply because Capcom largely handles projects in-house, outsourcing or no.

I didn't mind techno stylings to music, but the MvC3 soundtrack was a little overbearing (if that makes sense). Somebody with an actual musical background would probably do a better job explaining why, but to me it almost sounded like there were just too many layers behind the main melody that was supposed to be up front?

I probably sound like a crazy person, I don't know, all I know is when playing Marvel I wish the core melody came through a little better while the rest of the track didn't fight so hard for your attention.
