What are the chances we gonna get the dynamic uncle and nephew duo? Even Yipes is asking for it.

It really depends on how big the roster is and if Nero will be returning for DMC5 (which chances are high of that happening).

I think if they are looking at a 50ish roster Nero has a good chance but anything below is very difficult. You kinda don't want too many "dudes with swords" on the Capcom side.

I await tomorrow's mini-nuggets of information before we get Saturday's reveal.

Don't even know what the surprise for MvC3 players could be if it's not a port. Probably nothing.

in true capcom fashion, I expect the entire trailer to accidentally be uploaded to youtube tomorrow

or the website goes up and all character art is made available

Current rumor is that Sony is funding the port, and most likely funding the new MvC. It not showing up here basically means some part of this rumor is true, in particular once we see MvC4 on Saturday, and potentially the port.

Can you confirm if its a reboot or not?

I'm not really liking this Capcom being funded by other publishers thing... Capcom turning into what PG is (except for RE7..)...

I don't know about that, one way or another. I mean, its a Marvel vs. Capcom title, and everyone who has clarified this part has said as much. We just don't know if there is a 4 in the title or not.

Personally, I think its a reboot just because it avoids so many marketing headaches & potential fan backlash by just doing so.

"Why isn't it 3v3? Why is it Marvel 4 but you have 2v2 + Assist slot?"
Reboot sweeps that question under the rug.

"Why aren't there X-men characters in this game? Where is (insert Fox movie Marvel character name here)? They were my favorite in 1/2/3."
Reboot sweeps that question under the rug too.

By saying its a reboot, you wipe away the dark clouds that would basically surround this title & its marketing from now until release.

Its something we really haven't gotten used to, at least in the core fandom. For Capcom, I think it makes a lot of business sense. These are titles & series that fans love, so why not have a 1st party supplant the dev cost while you reap the profits if it sells well. Clearly, Capcom's primary money maker is still Resident Evil, so they'll go about that on their own. But for the lesser series that haven't sold as well recently? Get someone to pay up for it.

Great business strategy, sucks for fans who may like a series but are on the other side of the fence, so to speak.

Based on the rumors alone, I have a bad feeling about this game. Like, it's going to have very little to do with the previous games in the series conceptually.

If you put in actors likeness, you are probably going to blow up the budget and it's already expensive to create a bunch of characters for fighting games.

We can only hope that it won't be anything like 2 or 3

Yup. But if they give us a MvC3 port with all DLC, better netcode, and maybe even a balance patch it's a fair trade I think.

I think we're all going to be pleasantly surprised with the game. The rumors around it are certainly unsettling, but I believe everything will be fine when all is said and done.
