Sentinel has won multiple majors including an EVO win and has appeared in Grand finals of EVO of 3 times in Marvel 3. The character is definitely not irrelevant but is relegated far more towards the support side.
Magneto is top tier and Justin Wong plays Storm so she is relevant too (and an EVO winner).

Because Spencer eats Sentinel alive. But Spencer fell out of the meta in UMvC3.
Also, Sentinel on point has been bad since the release month patch. It's his assist that made him relevant. He's also a decent (B+) X-Factor comeback character.
Plus people constantly get hit by his unblockable c.M.

Marvel 3 Sentinel is still surprisingly relevant. That top 5 assist just won't go away. People have gotten a lot better at playing him on point too.

Game is being allegedly made on the tails of the doctor strange movie making bank in theaters, so Dormammu and Shuma both coming back is high change just on the association to Strange.

He has his disks too. I could see a super where he shrinks the other guy, and then they get stampede or bodied by a bunch of Ants.
Edit: also when I say that they aren't relevant, it's mainly towards that team itself. But also only one top player using storm doesn't really make her relevant. That's the exception, not the rule. Those characters are shells of their former selves (mags excluded but I prefer Mvc2 mag personally).
Wolverine was way more relevant that storm or sent wish they could be.
