Xbox

  • I own 800+ digital Xbox games
  • I prefer the controller
  • I game share with my son so he can play all my games from his house for no cost to him
  • All my friends and relatives have Xbox

Playstation 4
With PS+Extra and my backlog, I have enough to play for the next few years.

Used to be Switch, but then my daughter got into the Minecraft age.

My main platform for the pool?

Nothing beat an inflatable mattress

PlayStation

I've owned every home console since the PS1 and they've never let me down.

I know that when I buy a PlayStation at launch I'm guaranteed a decade of new games (unlike the original Xbox) and it won't break on me repeatedly (like 360 did).

I also have plenty of friends who aren't gamers but play the odd game, they all go with PlayStayion.

Other than that I love my Switch (though I wouldn't play as much if not for my daughter) and I still play and collect old Sega stuff.

Basically, I've never had any drama with Sony in 30 years (can't say that for their competitors)…

It is still Xbox.

Switch 2 missed the opportunity to replace it, it is still far from being good enough to be a serious replacement for third party games.

The PC is my favourite gaming platform, because only PC allows me to play my favourite games (new and old) with the best possible graphics and frame rate. Not to mention the fact that I prefer using a keyboard and mouse for many games.

I grew up playing on consoles, but I lost interest when Sony and Microsoft started releasing their games on PC.

Yeah mines would be the pool too, with this heat wave going on rn. Just need some stacked women around and the secret harem paradise will be complete.

PC, mainly because I've been busy playing mostly retro games & indies, most of which don't have modern ports on current consoles

Nintendo 1992 - 2005 or so
Playstation 2005 - 2019 or so
Back to Nintendo 2019 onwards

I go to wherever people are making the best games I want to play. Nintendo lost me a bit in the waggle era, then won me back in Switch era while Playstation moved more toward stuff that doesn't interest me (dark violent games, GAAS, etc.)

Do you actually play all of them? Have you played all of them
I have played all of them. I have not completed all of them. Some that I own, I started them, and it was too hard for me, and never was played again. An example would be Dark Souls. I bought it, started it, got my ass blasted, and never played it again. But my son will play it, finish it, and laugh at me Topher Topher 😬

Playstation because a decent PC is like 3X or 4X the price (at least where I live) and I haven't been able to afford one (or rather I've spent the money on other stuff like vacations and such)
Also most of the friends I play with are on Ps4/5.

Used to have all platforms until this current generation. Very disappointed with the output of all industries these past few years.
PC as my main for the forseeable future. But PC industry has shot itself in the foot with GPU prices and CPU/Mobo issues.

Most of my gaming is done on the move or away from home so a gaming laptop covers all bases.

I do have the consoles and a desktop at home but they rarely get used.

Edit: Looking forward to DS2 when I get home next week though.

Talking about myself, I primarily play on PS5 for some reasons:

1) The backlog at the platform;
2) Physical games;
3) The system is frighteningly quiet. Always surprises me how quiet PS5 is, no matter how graphically demanding is the game that you is playing;
4) Games who launch first on PS5, like Astro Bot or Death Stranding 2.

I don't have a main.. maybe PC?
I've played a lot on PCengine and PSX lately more so than current consoles, but I voted switch just because... :messenger_face_screaming:

PC
  • Largest library of games I want to play
  • Most games I play are PC exclusives (like the Bazaar, now 400+ hours in)
  • Being able to browse sites (resources/maps for the game I'm playing) or watch streams on a second monitor, plus apps like Spotify & WhatsApp running in the background
  • Big budget console titles rarely appeal to me, and the ones that do get released on PC

PC.
Best way to play most games in terms of quality and framerate
Play games old as dirt, backwards compatibility is a given through emulation
Don't have to pay for online
Access to gamepass without having to own the console
4k 144hz gaming
More functionality (streaming, video editing, work, music production, etc.)
Access to everybodys "exclusives" 'cept Nintendo (unless emulated)
Option to play games on controller still
Multitasking. Game on one screen, the news on the other...or discord...or whatever I want.
It's fun to build your own rig. Customize your hardware. Fully upgradable but not required to play the latest gen games.
I like to tinker, so what many people might consider a downside of PC (mainly that there can be issues that arise that require figuring out)...I also consider an upside.
Always a step ahead of the latest console.

PC followed by PS5 Pro and then last Switch 2 but only because it is new (I wanted this for a decent Switch docked TV experience and feel I have that now).

I still own a Xbox Series X, bought one year after launch, but that has been unused for well over a year now (and, yes, I really should sell it).

My oldest and I are playing Dark Souls coop on PC right now. He's played through the game ten times. It is actually really easy if you have someone guiding you who has memorized damn near everything about the game.

PC:

  • Mods - I can make the games absurd or just plain better because of this fact.
  • PC Ports - The fan made PC ports of games like Ocarina of Time do the things that companies like Nintendo have done, but done better in almost every aspect.
  • Tweaking - I love to tweak my games so they can run better or look better depending on my needs and/or wants.
  • Storage - I have much more storage on my PC than I do on my consoles, so it helps a lot. This is not really restricted to PC nowdays, but back when I started (in the mid 2000's), it was almost required.

These are the reasons off the top of my head.
