Ohio is by far the most corrupt state in the Union. Republican Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, Election 2004, Coingate, Tom Noe, their inept Republican Senators and now the governor gets his time in the sun.

Gov. Bob Taft has been charged in Franklin County Municipal Court with four criminal misdemeanors for failing to disclose golf outings and possibly other favors.

The charges were outlined at a press conference this afternoon with Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien and Columbus City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer Jr.

If convicted on the first-degree misdemeanor charges, Taft faces a maximum fine of $1,000 and up to six months in jail on each count.

Taft, 63, the great-grandson of William Howard Taft, the only American to serve as president and chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, made history on his own: He is the first Ohio governor to face criminal charges while in office.

Time for a cleansing.

That is one of the most broadly applicable statements I've ever heard. You can plug it in virtually anywhere.

It's widely accepted that Bush is the retard of all dumbasses. :)

Yet history will remember him for being so large that he got stuck in a bathtub at the White House.

Nope, my state of Connecticut has you beat.

Our former Governor Rowland, Adjudent General, Lt. Adjudent General, Mayor Gambino..

...all forced to resign, and indicted.

:lol

Almost anybody should have beaten this sod last election cycle. The Democrats put up a virtual nobody, Tim Hagan (who is actually a great 'New Democrat'). Then proceeded to allow Taft to outspend him by an ungodly amount during the election.

Taft is such a twit, that he is the first Republican on a state ticket that I voted against.

The Democratic party is in shambles (proof of that, is them trying to court Jerry Springer to run for office), and they do not have many people with name recognition that could woo away voters (Kucinich is a kook, and Marcy Kaptur doesn't appear to have any further ambitions than State Rep).

In my opinion, both parties are in shambles. There aren't even many real Republicans left in the Republican party.

Both of the Ohio Senators are pretty good. (Voinovich is awesome. DeWine is slowly becoming a moderate).

Someone explain to me WHY this jackass hasn't been eithe rimpeached or recalled yet?

He spent his prvious term doing everything he could to run this state into the ground. So what do we do? REELECT HIM?!? Double U. Tee. Eff.

This crook needs to be kicked out and put away.

Taft got the world's biggest attempted slap on the wrist. 4k fine. That'll show him, for accepting far more in bribe value.

Why do you list Kucinich as a "kook"?

Jerry Springer was a politician and legitimate news anchor long before his talk show. He was the mayor of Cincinnati in 1977, so while he's probably sitting in a grave 10 years in the making... it's not completely crazy.

Did you see his presidential campaign? :)
I dididn't pay much attention to it. However, it gave me an impression that he was good humoured (the date). His bus, run on recycled vegetable oil, gives me warm fuzzies.
