I think I'd definitely have fun and bop to BBHMM had I been with friends and we were just dancing and bopping while drunk. Seems like a song you'd use to cool down a party after everyone is either asleep or inebriated and acting stupid.

Well of course sis, One Sweet Day is a truly universal song that was played at births, weddings, on the radio, in the malls of America, and funerals. It LITERALLY slayed lives. The year it was released it was practically everywhere. That's why it was named song of the decade of the 90's. Uptown Funk is a cute bop though.
Wasn't We Belong Together the song of the decade for the 2000s?

The UF video is so colorful; I love the dance moves. The OSD video is so unimaginative. Mariah didn't even move from that one spot, as per.
Uptown Funk is a throwback song to early 80's funk rock. Of course there is going to be dancing and colors. All children love colors and dancing that's why Barney the dinosaur is still popular. One Sweet Day on the other hand is a serious moving ballad accentuated by two vocal powerhouses in Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey.
Oh! Slay at Mark Ronson being able to make a modern hit out of 80's funk rock. If only Mariah had that kind of talent. Listening to MIAMTEC, I think she tried something similar, but failed

Hmm you must not have listened to MIAMTEC much. Now if you were trying to make the same comparison to Glitter then I would almost agree since the 80's vibe was what she was going for with that album. Not sure if you knew but Mariah's been in the game for 25+ years so to compare MIAMTEC to someone who is in their prime is a little silly.
But one flop album every once in a while isn't bad tbh. TBH she has many records, more than Mark Ronson will ever attain but yes I would like ha to keep that one.
Maybe one day Firo will have a number one song on the Billboard charts. It's difficult to get, not everyone has that. All the pop girls should have goals.

You got me! I've only listened to the alber like once, but I have a good memory and can remember that prolonged experience. I was referring to that throwback R&B vibe she was going for (and the disco thing she attempted with Meteorite). And of course I know Mariah and her music is old!
One bad album is bad, I think. It shows that people aren't here for your music anymore
I don't know Mark Ronson. I just like his song with Bruno Mars and wouldn't mind it dethroning One Sweet Sleep.
