Adele and Beyoncé crying looking at each other is the best Adele could have made that night into. Grammy academy fucked up and Adele had no problem spilling how much Beyoncé really accomplishes to her face and that Adele doesn't consider it her award. Really sweet and Adele wouldn't have been blamed for the fuck up by the Grammys, regardless of if she hadn't said anything, but she still chose to say how much Beyoncé and her album deserve respect while she stood on the stage.
Adele is fantastic so it's not crazy she won, and she seems like a big person for how she handled the night.

I don't know what you're even talking about but Bey's performance was easily the most visually impressive no matter which way you want to look at it. It seems like a trashy, lazy, "think we can get views?" move on the Grammy YouTube channel's part to upload silent videos of Beyoncé as she listens to Adele's ROTY and AOTY acceptance speeches. It kind of feels exploitative of her celebrity status and the fact that she lost, and it's also just weird to have two minutes of uninterrupted, unedited silent footage of someone. The footage is oddly voyeuristic.
I don't necessarily think it's "bad" or "wrong" or anything. They can do what they want. It just seems cheap to upload footage like that to tbe official YouTube channel.

It kind of is an issue to be pressed since a black person hasn't won Album of the Year in a decade now. But I am done with the Grammy's. I can't honestly believed I thought they would do the right thing.

It's not only because she is black and people of color "were owed" an award or anything but the fact that Self-Titled and Lemonade are some of the finest records in the last decade and a perfect combination of visuals + music yet they have been snubbed for other run of the mill and forgettable projects.

Even a cursory glance at meta critic could tell you that 25 did not deserve to win.
Lemonade is sitting on 92 from 33 critics, while Adull's 25 is sitting on a 75 from 35 critics.

I did not say quotas, but there is a problem when black people can't win awards due to them not selling enough (Lemonade, To Pimp a Butterfly). It's also a problem when apparently they are not artistic enough (Beck's Morning Phase). It's also a problem when there is a year when one is not even nominated (2011).
25 will only be remembered because it sold shitloads. The fact the colective public and critics encourage a great talent like ADELE to be stagnant and release basically the same dull album is embarrasing.
Meanwhile, Bey has already release two albums that literally changed the industry to it's very foundations, from the way we sell a record to how it should be presented visually and you can't give the aoty to her? Shameful.

Just looking at the past AOTY winners this decade, Beyonce's albums have a significant number of chefs in the kitchen when compared to those that have won.
I guess in that regard, I can see why the level of artistry in 25 would be preferred to Lemonade.

I decided to relisten to Glory the other day, and it really is quite good. Apart from a couple songs whose production/editing don't work for me, it's a simple but great pop album. Britney and her team did a good job in 2016.
