post a good ambient drone track

Discovered this while browsing the catalogue of Module, the artist responsible for the incredible Shatter game soundtrack (get it)

This is apparently designed to help people get to sleep, and it is pretty droney, moreso than the usual ambient stuff I like, but it's a really good long track, I find it's good reading music.

Not quite ambient / drone, but I think you'll appreciate it, and likely haven't heard of it. It's a Japanese DJ / electronic artist I stumbled across, and completely love his albums. He often mixes in natural sounds and remixes them. For example, most of the percussion is just the sound of wind hitting a mic, and he cuts it apart and meticulously edits it back together into percussion and other sounds. He also uses rain drops, water, and other natural noises in the album, and the whole thing is just a masterpiece. Highly recommended.

Ametsub - Vestige for Wind Day.

Ametsub - Cloudsfall

Ametsub - Rufouslow

I read this as "Ambien Drone Attack" and got really confused by this thread's contents.

Honestly not sure what I was expecting.

Slightly OT but people who like this shit will probably appreciate this as well. This is my absolute favourite resource for sound masking.

A crazy amount of different sounds, at work I tend to use a combo of Pebble Beach, Audio Jammer, and ambient music all played together. Almost completely drowns out the women chattering around me.

They have a lot of different soundscapes and you can play around with the equalizer for a lot of variation. Sometimes I like putting on the one that just sounds like you're on a space station, just a low engine rumble in the background.

The Audio Jammer is amazing at speech masking though. It reminds me of some of the audio from PT actually, it sounds a bit like scrambled and distorted phone conversations at different frequencies. Ultimately it's adding noise to noise, but if it's helping you concentrate that's what matters.

Thanks for this, I suffer from tinnitus so I wonder if this will help in distracting me from the sound. Sometimes it gets so overwhelming that I wish I could plug my ears and not hear anything at all. It's just so incredibly frustrating and I've forgotten the sound of silence.

xx

Anyway enough of me going OT, I found the below recently and liked it quite a bit:

Glad I could help! They have a section of sounds specifically for people who suffer from tinnitus, make sure you check those out. And be sure to play around with the equalizer, I think for some of them the individual sliders control unique sound layers, it's not just a frequency adjuster.

This plays over the final end credits to the Twin Peaks revival. Absolutely love this, and I found it particularly moving in those final moments after watching the finale and mulling over what just happened.

You should work out to this, Tess.

Stars of the Lid is AWESOME, I don't think I ever heard music more haunting and gorgeous than both Requiem for Dying Mothers. The OST to Lucas Arts Afterlife give up a similar vibe:

And Tim Hecker is one great man.

Probably not ambient or drone enough but IDGAF playing Doom making me want to revisit awesome 90's shooter OSTs, love this one

My daily go to at work for an awesome ambient selection. Soma is the greatest. Commercial free and amazing music. I feel like shit for not donating to them. I will do that soon! The Secret Agent station is perhaps my favourite though, just loungey fusion shit with classic James bond quotes in between songs.

Man I missed that track and I can't find it anywhere, the shit he has on the internet archive sounds pretty cool though. I don't know where Soma finds all their shit.
