My dog isn't retarded. ~_~ If your dog's such an Einstein, why don't you post his picture?

I don't see how you can deduce my dog's level of intelligence from a picture. 9_9 That's so stupid.

I dont know about "cyoote" but youre ferrets are ADORABLE

Where is Cerebal Palsy!?!?! He has some of the cutest kitties EVAR! At least he did the last time we had a thread like this.

heh, I didn't know ferrets had such cute little faces.

I find that people who own, and genuinely love their pets, are generally better people to be around.

That rooster is hardcore! Man, I want one. (He wants the cack? dur hurr hurr hurr)
That pack of feral cats is equally awesome. Like a blob of black fur with 4 heads sticking out of it.

I don't want to de-rail the thread, but let's discuss stupid pet owners for a second.

I've got this friend who found an abandoned kitten last year around October. If he hadn't cared for it, it would've assuredly died. He took it to the vet and got its shots, but never spends enough time with her. His cat is gagging for attention (and obviously has abandonment issues) and he's always over at my place, or out somewhere else. We had to convince him to buy a scratching post. He always has stories of how his cat tries to get into his bedroom, and yolws when he ignores her. Anyway, now he says she pees all over everything any chance she gets.

He even thought about buying a ferret as a playmate, and we had to tell him point blank that another pet isn't what he needs. He just needs to spend more time with his cat.

I like her! My dog is a mixed stray, too, and she looks like a young relative of yours.
Red Mercury has a mixed pup that looks a lot like mine, as well.

I think mixed strays are the cutest... or as Waychel would say, "The Kayooootesst!"

Bassets can be a challenge, because they're one of the most stubborn breeds of dogs. The biggest concerns are making sure they watch their weight, keep their ears clean and understand who is boss. Also, you need to make sure to give them a bath often as they can stink it up quickly.

I'd take a pure breed any day over a mixed. You know what you're getting, have a pedigree, and usually don't have to worry about worms or other health problems. Also, strays a lot of times have a tendency to be very very scared of humans, specifially males. My mother use to have stray bassets come in all the time. Some of those dogs my father, brother and I couldn't get near because it would run to the corner and cower or get extremely agressive.

My tabby cat, Mr. Thomas Grey III (yes, there were two before him, and they were grey tabbies too); Tommy for short:

My other cat, a calico. Her name is Skeeter:

skeeter01.jpg

skeeter02.jpg

She always holds her head down, and/or has her eyes closed, but she has the most beautiful eyes I've seen on a cat. They're like very brilliant jades.

No you don't ... I know the whole roosters crow at sunrise is kinda stampted into most peoples minds, but the truth is they go off whenever they feel like it . *shakes fist angerly* you don't know anger till you've been woken up by various cocks at three in the morning.

CJ at a neighbor's house:

CJ30001.jpg

Close-up; he doesn't let us comb his hair, so he only gets combed when he gets groomed, which is why he looks somewhat scraggly:

CJ40005.jpg

When he was about 4 months old-- we were chasing him around, playing, and he was looking to cause mischief (as per usual); look at the devious eyes. :D

CJ40003.jpg

About that same time, nearly 10 years ago:

cj3003.jpg

This (and the first two pics) is closer to his coloring now:

CJ40004.jpg

So yeah, that's my buddy. :) I have dozens of names for him, including (but not limited to): buttocks, gizmo, seuss, deviant, hooligan, swanson, Inspector Clouseau, ruffian, desperado, Jesse James, dingly-doos, el raton (the rat), el rodento (the rodent)-- these last two due to how he looks when he gets wet. :p I love him to death. These pics aren't digital, obviously, so the quality sucks-- his hair is much more lustrous in real life, and is seldom as long as in pics #2 and 5.

The other dogs posted in this thread have been adorable, btw. Loki: in touch with his feminine side. ;) :p Seriously, though, dogs rock! :D

These cats are living with us. You have Pudding (Male White) and Kiki (Female Brown). They have a special relationship like a real couple as they are often one next to the other, they play around and fight each other. Pudding is very social with people but rare are those who will see Kiki.

This one is funny, we came back from a family dinner and the cats were waiting for us. "We want food!"
cats23bs.jpg

This is Cookie, the dog my parents had while I was a teenager. She lived 12 years and was a very good dog. She followed orders correctly and since she was good at it, we let her some loose. I was always walking without a leash as I would stop and only a "Hum Hum" would be needed for the dog to come back.

cook10uw.jpg

This dog was a real Pikachu for me. It was real hard to let her go, but she was sick and probably suffering...

cook23em.jpg

My parents couldn't live without a dog for long so they adopted Roxy, a mix between a German Sheppard and a Boxer. She is a very good dog and follow orders very well. As you can see, the size of this dog is very different from the one we had before but my parents are adjusting well. As for me, we share the dog with my parents so they bring her over when they are going away. It's the first time Roxy will come to my house. Don't know what the cats will say... :lol

roxy16bm.jpg

The dog gained around 50-60 pounds between the time those pictures were taken.

Here is Darcy.....she's a seeing eye dog puppy in training. We just had to give her back to the seeing eye people last week. I hope she fails her tests so we get to keep her. I have done my best to "train" her whenever I go home.
