My Fluke:


I had the batman and robin animated series game and was stuck at the riddler level. The riddler asked you a question like "What has 1 million eyes and one million ears and 2 lobes" and then gave you a bunch of letters which you had to combo. Everytime you you guessed wrong or died you had to start the game again. After hours and hours of trying i got the idea of trying "HB" for HUGE BUG". Turns out it was right for "human brain"! :lol To this day its still one of my most frustrating gaming moments.


To add insult to injury i saw the riddler episode of the series a couple of day later by fluke and it also has the same answer :lol
 
I was fighting Emerald Weapon in FF VII and got Cait Sith's limit break bar filled. I did Slots and actually got the Game Over slot where the grim reaper comes out and kills the opponent in one hit.
 
super mario 2 had just come out. I had my parents rent it. I spent the entire night at the first area before you enter the first door.

"HOW DO I GET IN THE DOOR!" I screamed.














*sigh*

So many great GTA moments that I don't completely recall, but one great thing about the series is how you don't always have to play by the rules in order to win.
 
My dad was playing Super Mario Bros 1 when we first got our NES. Played all day for like 3 days getting to the end of world 1. Beats level 1-4, jumps up in joy for beating the game!!

World 2-1 starts, throws the controller and yells for a couple minutes!
 
Yesterday playing some 3S with a friend, it was hilarious.

My friend plays fighters casually, so he doesn't parry or anything in 3S but he does try sometimes (i.e. when I throw him a rose :lol).

Anyway I was playing as Ibuki and I figure I'll chip him to death with the air super, so I jumped in close and let it go.

He parries the whole thing :lol :lol

He was trying to dash under it on wakeup (I jumped in while he was waking up) so he was tapping forward like crazy, and he parried the whole thing! Just mash on forward if the guy's close to you so the knives aren't very far apart like they would be if Ibuki's at the apex of her jump (just like parrying XNDL).

i was playing WoW and trying to kill a monster 4 lvls above me and then an add dropped in to spoil the fun. it was going to be hard enough to kill the first one, but with the add i was guaranteed to die... so i continue fighting the initial one thinking it'll be a victory to at least kill it, even if i can't get the add. and i DO kill the first one, but little did i know i was just shy of going up a lvl and killing it gave me the exp to go up a lvl, which replenishes all your health instantly. with the tables turned i was able to finish off the add as well.

yay for me.

in MGS3: After running around trying to locate the bitch for over an hour using the map and thermal goggles, I tried to snipe him from a tree and found out that when on that particular tree he could only snipe me from one location only. What a relief! The whole ordeal was over within minutes :lol
 
i had the replay of this but DELETED IT due to my absolute retardedness.

anyway, final track of the .. third cup (whatever it is) on fzero GX - big blue, i was in or about last place, with barely any energy due to boosting, did a final boost, hit a wall - ship blows up, but takes off, flips over, and goes over the finish line INTO FIRST PLACE

it goes RANKED OUT! or whatever it says.. , then the voice goes ALRIGHT! FIRST PLACE!!! i pissed it laughing. gold :P
 
When PSOv2 came out, I got a codebreaker and made my guy level 200. I was getting good at duping items, which involved going offline and duping, then coming back online with multiple items.

A friend and I talked to some dude for like 30 minutes, trying to get him to let me dupe his hacked S-Rank Spread Needle. He finally agrees, and I go offline. Upon restarting the game, the game says "save missing" or something, and the entire memory card had be erased.

I walked down the street to my friend and told him what happened. He just logged out without telling the guy what happened, and I never played DC PSO again.

Similarly, i got stuck early on in one of the Double Dragon games. There's a part where you have to jump, which required using both the B and A buttons at the same time. i was stuck there for a few days on like the second stage until i figured out that i could press both buttons to jump.

It happened again when i got Double Dragon and got to the second stage. i must've died a dozen times trying to jump across the chasm in the second stage until i realized i could climb the fence to get across.

If it makes you feel any better, I played the GC one legit and got BSOD at Ultimate Mines, losing all the stuff I'd earned honestly. Paybacks are a bitch.

Played Xbox one up to level 112 legit also, so... yeah. The scale is tipped to the good by now, imo.

I've done that wuite a few times...Seems to happen in the final turn of Lightning - Loop Cross for me (Dodging other racers + boosting madly + sharp turn).

Personally though I seem to get a lot of gaming flukes in my favor...So much so that friends swear I havd a Game Shark implanted in me. I'm talking one life left on SSB:M at 500% and a star spawns right on me. Then I break a crate and 3 hearts pop out right in front of me. That kind of stuff seems to happen EVERY time I'm about to lose.
 
One time I was watching my girlfriend play one of the Oddworld games (I think it was the second one) on the PS1. She was at one of the parts where you've got to jump across some gaps while avoiding the periodic rocks that fall through them. Pretty standard timing stuff, but she always ends up taking an unusually long time to actually jump for these sections. Probably around 30 seconds to a minute for each leap, and there were a LOT of jumps in this area.

I get ready to sit there for a while and watch Abe just stand idly at the edge of the gap and gather the courage to cross without being smacked by a boulder, when she just goes pretty much straight through all the hops and leaps, never pausing at any of the edges, and somehow managing to completely avoid being hit by any of the rocks. When she finally got to the end of the room, I ask her how she managed to do that without getting hit by any of those rocks... Her response:

"What rocks?"

For some reason, she thought that these rocks were just part of the background and not an actual obstacle.

You seriously suck. People like you ruined Phantasy Star Online. It doesn't matter that you played "legit" later on, as the fact remains you ruined a lot of the fun of the game.
 
I went 20 for 20 in 3 pointers one game with Tim Hardaway in Tecmo NBA Basketball for the SNES. I still don't know how the hell that happened.

deja vu. My dad was the first in family that beat bowser at 1-4, and we all thought he beat the game :lol
 
I landed a job in the games industry eight years ago.
Then the PA to the CEO of the company started sucking me off in her car at lunchtimes.
 
My parents bought me kid chameleon, which I was sure would keep me occupied for the rest of my life. One the second stage, I did something with the controller mistakeny that instantly sent me to plethora--the last stage of the game.

Similar thing for me. I couldnt kill those damn Malboro in FFVIII which I needed to get the doomtrain. I gave up after a while but got into another fight by mistake but Odin came to save to dying ass.

Oh and somehow I beat the mining Windows game in 2 seconds. I just clicked 2 random square and there you go

So the whopping 20 hours I played PSOv2, most of which was in private games, ruined the entire network? Fuck you.

Good stuff.

I would say my fluke was in Kings Quest 4 I almost played a flawless game without dying once my first time through and everything I told my character to do she did including shoot a random bird with a golden arrow I needed to beat the last boss of the game. When I noticed that I had deleted all my saves before that point I busted my keyboard up pretty bad.
 
The one I remember the most was in Amped (the first one).

I just couldn’t make the high score for the life of me on this one run. I kept trying and trying... when the run restarted (AGAIN), I was so frustrated that on the first big jump I mashed the controller yelling at the game. My boarder went off the jump, and landed right on the top of a tree. The game went crazy and he spun around a ton of times as he bounced off (Amped reported it as a 3060 spin or something ridiculous like that), and was spinning up and down as he crashed to the earth... only the trick landed! It was worth a TON of points, and beat the high score right there, at the beginning of the run! :)
 
My most memorable gaming fluke was while playing Castlevania 2. One of my favorite games, but it must have had the worst translation of all time because the 'advice' of the townspeople was totally garbage. Anyways, I was at my best friends house and we were trying to beat the game over the weekend on a rental. Well, we were stuck for about 4 hours trying to get to the next castle and an argument ensued over my best friend and his older brother. I am just holding the controller trying to get them to calm down. 10 seconds into the argument, that stupid tornado takes us to the Grim Reaper's castle and we are all stunned wondering what the hell just happened.

I swear that kind of stuff was so common during the NES days, it must have made a lot of people insane (and the NES hotline must have made a mint).
 
Shadow Hearts 2, last boss. I'm way too underleveled and will probably be killed in one hit. My first turn of the fight, I'm looking to see if I have anything worth using to power up my characters and I see something called the Eternal Key, I have my judgement rig on gamble and sit back and watch the fight end in about 15 seconds.
 
three head shots in a row at the same instant at CS. PURE luck = teh funnies

It wasnt "spray in this vicinity/choke point, cause massive enemy forces are coming" kind of thing. It really was weird :/ i kind of randomly bursted a few m4 shots and got 3 hses at in short a/dust2
 
RE4, Mercenaries - this happened yesterday.

Playing as Hunk on the Castle/Monks level and I had a 37 kill spree when all of a sudden I totally ran out of bullets and I'm literally about to lose my kill spree with about 8-9 monks around me so I grab a grenade and literally huck it at my feet in the hopes that I 'might' get lucky and get some ammo.

GameCube literally slows down to a crawl because I manage to kill the guy carrying dynamite as well as a couple shield guys and "Claws" goes down as well. Spree goes up to 44 right there AND I get enough TMP ammo to end at a 52 kill spree.
 
I parried the first hit of Chun Li's SAII a few days back, but got scared and blocked the rest :lol

I wasn't trying to do it, it just kinda happened. I've been trying to parry that thing for a while, but getting that first hit is just a bitch.
