I actually think it looks good (though I think it probably doesn't allow for much cool martial arts choreography), but I don't know why they're determined to reveal practically all the designs in the movie through toys. Especially considering how bad the toys are.

I like the more clay golem like look.

But don't take the toys as hint of quality of the movie, toys always look like shit.

Also, some times tie in toys have nothing to do with the movie, just check out the avengers and captain america tie in toys.

Probably because everything about the movie seems to be bad and I say this as an unbiased person as I wasn't into Power Ranger as a kid and only watched like 2-5 episodes before dropping it as I could tell that the show felt very disjointed which kept throwing me off.

This movie has the weirdest design philosophy. Its either super complicated over designed crap or its giant amorphous blob that is vaguely human shaped. I guess they were trying to go for a big contrast between the Ranger and the villains but they took this to its most extreme ends.
