SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 16 -- BAM! Entertainment®, Inc. (Nasdaq: BFUN - News) announced today the anticipated release dates for the company's third quarter games. These new titles will be available on all the major platforms: Sony PlayStation® 2, Microsoft Xbox(TM), Nintendo GameCube(TM) and Nintendo Game Boy Advance(TM). Len Ciciretto, SVP Sales and Marketing said, "Our retailers and consumers have been awaiting Bujingai: The Forsaken City(TM) and it is finally here. In addition, we are also providing a strong list of quality content for upcoming quarters." That list of titles includes:

Bujingai: The Forsaken City for PlayStation 2 -- In another time ... An isolated island-city stands as home to much of what remains of the human race. The ancient technology which annihilated most of the Earth has now opened a gateway to a hellish dimension, unleashing a horde of demons upon the city. One warrior, armed with a pair of swords and an arsenal of magic spells, goes to battle the army of demons. This warrior's name is Lau, and thousands will die by his hand Game Informer says, "Bujingai manages to set itself apart with some outstanding stylistic elements," and PSM says, "Bujingai's combo system and air fighting make it a most unique PS2 action game." This game shipped on July 22, 2004.

Carmen Sandiego(TM): The Secret of the Stolen Drums for PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox -- In his dying words, the last descendant of an African King reveals an ancient secret and a warning. Deep in the jungles of Rwanda is a hidden temple containing a great diamond which possesses the knowledge of all nations. Gathering pieces of maps from the skins of eight drums scattered around the world and re-uniting the drums is the only way to open the temple. The A.C.M.E. team recognizes Carmen Sandiego's infamous signature. The mission is to stop her from unearthing the drums and making off with the magical treasure. This action/stealth/adventure game's anticipated release is August 31, 2004.

Starsky and Hutch(TM) for GameCube -- Jump into the sporty "Red Tomato" and be the coolest undercover cops in town. Control the soft-spoken Hutch and the streetwise Starsky, as they solve the toughest case in the roughest neighborhoods. Help them battle the hard-nosed, but loveable Captain to fight crime in their own unconventional way. With the strong license from the massive 70's TV series, this 3D world setting will rock the streets of San Francisco. This value-priced game is scheduled for release on August 31, 2004.

A Sound of Thunder(TM) for Game Boy Advance -- This cooperative multiplayer, time-travel game will be released just in time for the upcoming movie, "A Sound of Thunder," produced by Franchise Pictures. In the future, time-travel has been invented. Travel companies are quick to offer once-in-a- lifetime vacations to the rich few. "There are three rules: don't change anything in the past, don't leave anything behind, and don't bring anything back." Unfortunately, something went wrong ... A sequence of time-ripples begins to mutate the present-day world and a new timeline is born. As Travis Ryer, you must solve the mystery that might mean the end of human existence. This action-adventure game has an anticipated release date of September 28, 2004.

Ice Nine(TM) for Game Boy Advance -- Set at the "secret" CIA Training facility in Camp Peary, VA, a young agent trainee named Tom Carter is failed during his training, and then recruited by his ex-trainer to take part in a secret undercover operation designed to thwart the theft of a destructive computer virus know as "Ice Nine." Heh, Ice Nine and A Sound of Thunder have been delayed forever... they were first shown back at E3 2002, and may well have been complete since later that year.

I was all set for some cool, innocent, continent-hopping fun with Carmen Sandiego until I saw some gameplay movies.

Blech.

Ice Nine for the GBA looks great. Done by Torus, I think, who did Duke Nukem Advanced for the GBA, a fantastic game.

Sound of Thunder... I vaguely recall it sounding pretty cool...

That's actually coming out here? Wow.

They should pick up Wizardry - The Summoning from Natsume, then.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Wasn't there a PS2 version of Ice Nine? I guess that got cancelled, eh? And that Carmen Sandiego game has been on the release charts forever, glad they'll finally be getting that thing out the door.

So whats the State of Emergency 2 marketing plan? My advice would be CHEAP, budget release that baby. Not that we really need a SoE2... but I'm sure there is one person out there that wanted it.

Ice Nine for the PS2 did get cancelled, IIRC. Or was that Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever? (Another great GBA FPS game.)

I think the first one sold so well because it was between the GTA's and had the "From the makers of GTA:III" on it. :|
