So, is this the first confirmation of NeoWave heading to Xbox? And what happened to SNK/KDDI possibly doing online games for PS2, that fall through?

This is seriously weird.

Why the fuck are they releasing Samurai Showdown 5 when they could release Special.

And why release KOF94 and Maximum Impact when they could release Garou and Last Blade/Last Blade 2.

So they can release those next year.

Not only that, but this being a U.S. press release saying the game will come out this year is very impressive. The Japanese version hits the PS2 at the end of June, so we'll see if SNK USA can actually get the game out this year. (I doubt it. :P Where's KOF 2002/2003 for Xbox? Oh, that's right...they still haven't released 2003 in Japan yet, so SNK USA has no idea when the hell they'll get the game. )

I wonder if Maximum Impact is getting new content, since it has the "Maniax" subtitle now.

Rebout should not be sold on its own. It should be bundled in with either Maximum Impact or Neowave.

And yeah, it's stupid that SNK is refusing to do a home version of SS5 Special.

And what happened to SNK/KDDI possibly doing online games for PS2, that fall through?

Yeah, like that was ever happening. :)

if either of those games sell for more than $20 it will be a rip off.
Considering these games in AES form are in the 200-300$, no, it would not be a rip off, unless they sell them for 2000$.

HELL YEAH!!! About time SNK Playmore got it togehter in regards to XBL. This is exciting news! Now they need to annouce a Metal slug online co-op game and I'm all set!

Considering that Samurai Shodown 5 is the only one of those titles to have been released on the AES (Neowave is Atomiswave, and Maximum Impact and Rebout are PS2 titles), you could say that selling them for more than $20 is a rip-off. :D

I don't agree with that, but I do think Rebout should be $20 or better yet, be a pack-in with one of the other games. It's just KOF '94 and it's not going to have tons of people rushing out and buying it to play it on Live. Despite the fact that the game clearly looks better than the original (you can even use the 2D backgrounds with the high res sprites), Neo-Geo "purists" (I.E. psychos) still think the Neo version is better, so most of them won't be purchasing it either.

Online co-op in Metal Slug 4 and 5? Who cares when they pale in comparison to Metal Slug 1-3? :)

Good to see they're showin' the 'box so much love. But SvC's horrible online play is still fresh in my mind...

When I played it I had some horrible lag-filled matches and some that were just fine. It's all related to your connection. The game is no GGXX #Reload online. :)

Lyte...I know you are passionate in the belief that it only be the regular SS5 and not special, but I refuse...REFUSE to believe they bring it to Xbox without AT LEAST the "Special" tweaks and features! It's just not feasible nor practical. They MUST give us Special features!

I just think they're simply calling it Samurai Shodown 5(no Special) because first of all, A)Special didn't come out here in the US and B)That being the case, most Americans would be absolutely confused by the "Special" tag(hence what happened with the Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior series).

Relax man...I have faith we will see Special features in SS5 Xbox :)

Er...shouldn't that be "*I* am passionate in the belief that it will be SS5 Special on Xbox?" You seem to be unable to accept this, not me.

SNK announced some time ago that for whatever reason, other than AES, SS5 Special wasn't getting ported. SS5 came out for PS2 in July 2004. SS5 Special had already been released at that point, but it was still SS5. They did add "special features," BTW, which was being able to play as the two midbosses. :P

SS5 Special DID come out here in the U.S.

You don't seem to understand how SNK works. :) It's going to be SS5. No Special. No extra characters/moves/tweaks from Special, just SS5.
