Pragmata |OT| Tactical Hacking Action

This game is actually fucking brilliant. I'm surprised. It feels like a game from an older era, but with modern polish. Shooting feels really good and I like the guns so far. Characters are great. Things feel weighty and crunchy. Game looks stunning. I could go on and on. This game has seriously surprised me, even with little things like the sound of picking up items, just reminds me of an older game back when games were made with passion. Hope this sells millions of copies.

whew finished it
I knew it was gonna be good at the opening credits and seeing all the japanese names. everything about the game was so streamlined and polished. I heard it was struck in dev. for a while and it started like 2020. Glad they took the time for it. Kind of embarrassing for modern western devs. trying to chase the live service gaming stuff for ALL the money, instead of just focusing on good single player experiences. Love that the action, and at the end it was like "reminding you this is a japanese game" and had a great climax.
10/10
I don't think its game of the year material, but should pick up a misc. award or two.
also i beat the final battle with only 3hp left and out of healing canisters. So that was a moment. completion time was 18hours

100% collectables, and standing right before what I assume is the final room of the game, and stopped there till I have time again.
One small nitpick is that because the game is short, it didn't really give enough time to give a majority of the weapons time to shine.
I pretty much just relied on the shotgun and the laser burning one for everything. And the basic stasis net or grenade launcher thing that you get early in the game.

The more 'advanced' new weapons all end up just serving as gimmicks for training sim. rooms.
Really this is on you to make the choice of weapon selection. In contrast I barely ever used the stasis net, maybe two times the whole game. Same thing applies for the plasma laser, I used that only a handful of times. Now the shotgun is an excellent go to of course and it's one of my favorite weapons in the game. But I made extensive use of the charge rifle as well as a great preference for the riot blaster. I do think the training VR Missions do serve a great purpose of making sure that you do use these weapons and realize how good they are though because just like I used inverse weapons of you, players can easily just not ever use certain weapon options.

This so true, in my playthrough I barely used sticky bomb until I played that VR mission which forced me to use it and realized how good they can be.

i think i'm all pragmata'd out though.
i'm gonna need to take a break to cool down on a different and come back to the unknown signal missions later. Did the first and was neat. I think i have the timing for the follow up for the bonus weapon wrong though.

I put close 60 hours in to the game platinum it. I will one day replay this game again.

This game worth......every....peny.

I hope Capcom make more games like this.

You mean Jakhammer? I loved that weapon! when you do the follow up brings out giant nail that can hit multiple enemies.

The weapon kinda reminds me if ASHMEAD in Armored Core.

When you move the character there is a pixellated mess when there are particular raytracing reflections on the ground. Jesus the raytracing used by capcom it's a disgrace. This one of the most horrid thing I have seen this generation, without exaggerate.

Finished it yesterday, ~30 hours all told including doing the Unknown Signal stuff and replaying the final sequence. I was not prepared for how much harder the fight with Eight was going to be after doing the Unknown Signal missions. I got through it by the skin of my teeth despite having almost everything maxxed out. Only trophy I have left is replaying on Lunatic difficulty and, sadly, that's going to stay locked forever. That's a mission for someone half my age without arthritis and better reaction times. Standard was good enough for me.

It's going to be a contender for my personal Game of the Year.

I'd say I'd like to see DLC for it but I also know any DLC they release for this will likely be nothing but added VR missions for Cabin which, if I'm honest, I found to be the least enjoyable part of the game.

Having completed it - I am now a believer. Such an amazing game - it was kept fresh all the way through with constant fun new upgrades and scenarios

It reminds me of a Platinum game, when they were on top. It felt like a modern Vanquish but with the added polish and modern design of Capcom

After this and RE9 this actually makes me interested to try the third Capcom game this year - Monster Hunter Stories 3. It seems Capcom just don't miss these days

Do it, in my opinion the game is fucking phenomenal. There is also good chunky demo which you carry your save to the full game.

Obviously stuff is very streamlined but I wonder what stuff ended up on the cutting room floor.
Like they went out of their way to ask your age just to have the character mention it once in a random conversation with Diana?

That means nothing. You have that with slop re9 too.

Finished it last week and had to let it sit for a bit, what an ending. I really enjoyed the ride, but I can't shake off that feeling, that this game would've been better as a traditional linear game. Backtracking to previous areas to 100% them and the stupid training missions feel like time stretchers, just so that people wouldn't complain about the game being too short.
I don't know if I have it in me to do Unknown Signal just for a slightly longer ending, since I'm just not that good at the game. I will absolutely replay it one day, though, the relationship between Hugh and Diana is just perfect and I already miss her roaming around the safe room.
