Pragmata |OT| Tactical Hacking Action

Okay just unlocked all the parts of the big blockade to approach the tower and found/completed all but a few security cases along the way. This game is awesome so far. There was definitely a learning curve to how I should handle a fight with all types of enemies in it, but I'm starting to get comfortable with it. Realizing that it remembers your progress for each individual hack was very useful. If you have to dodge/run, just get out and come back to the hack.

There was this one thing in a corner of an alley that runs away from you and you're supposed to hack it before it disappears to get something special. I failed so I have no idea what it gives and only vaguely remember where it was, if it even returns.

I maxed out the settings in 4K with my RTX 5080. BUT I had to use DLSS performance mode to keep it above 60FPS.
Game still looks good. All those shiny reflections.
Looks like this game is going to be a metrovania with area blocked off to go back to when I get an ability later on. I assume.

After death stranding 2, again I love my new daddy simulator Pragmata. It is so charming and adorable. Ignore the blue haired leftist haters. This game is very based and wholesome. Performance is okay and looks good on ps5.

I don't know why I just bought this given my backlog but sometimes I just feel compelled to vote with my dollars to support the types of games I wish were made more frequently: an original IP like this from Capcom is a breath of fresh air.

Really enjoyed the demo and played it on three platforms a few times. (Pc,ps5.sw)

I knew I would like it but I didn't expect it would pull me away from Crimson Desert.

While the demo is awesome it gave me the impression that all the areas would be closed rooms or hallways leading to arenas…happy this is not the case.

Exploration is very good (great/snappy movement controls and plenty of movement options/abilities even early on) and combat is fantastic. Saw this compared to Zelda BOTW/totk (weapon durability) with how ammo is handled and I disagree but in the same post there were folks crying foul over the meme crap…as such their opinions are invalid.

Capcom has been crushing it for the last few years sure, but their track record this year has been incredible.

If you like action/adventure games get this! While I'm playing on PC it's even fun on the switch (have only played handheld mode and only for about two hours to compare it to PC full release)

I fucking finally own these bitches now. Just had to get used to all the given options and not being afraid to use my resources. I kinda played it too save, which fucked me over. And I thought I'm too old for this shit.

Played so far exclusively in handheld. I'm only about an hour in, but I'm thinking about restarting. Yes, started in casual to get my feet wet, but it was pretty easy up to that point.

Quick question guys!

M/Kb or Controller?

Quick question guys!

M/Kb or Controller?

I played through the intro up to the first Shelter twice, once with a Dualsense, once with KB+M, precisely to answer this question for myself. And i'm sorry i can't give you a definitive answer. The control scheme for the controller is simple & intuitive, most people will like it, i think, atleast if you're more used to a controller than a KB+M.

But for me, who's been a PC master racer his whole life, KB+M just feels more natural, simply because i'm more used to it. I quickly got used to the hacking using Alt + mouse movement. You can change Alt to something else, and also set it to a toggle instead of a hold if that feels better. I have a mouse with multiple remappable side buttons accessible to my thumb. I've mapped one of them to Alt, and haven't looked back since. I'm now past 6 hours of playtime with KB+M and have no issues with the controls at all. Learnt them quickly.

Papi simulator must be played with a controller
How do you hack while controlling and shooting with controller?! D-pad???

You hack by aiming with L2 and then you do the hacking with square, triangle X and circle. Its actually very intuitive once you get used to it and cool as well because you have be fast in certain situations if you want to make meaningful damage

Thank you for the detailed reply, ahhhh I'll just have to try it out myself! So hacking with M/kb is alt + mouse or alt + w/e... hmm...

Yes, and it will be awkward the first 2 or 3 times, but then you get used to it. And if you have side buttons on your mouse, you can map them in place of Alt which might feel better. I also make the Alt keypress as a toggle, i prefer it that way. Controller is great and all, but there is just no substitute for the looking and aiming freedom of a mouse.

It's annoying that you can't jump while aiming.
I have only played the demo.

But I was disappointed game doesn't allow me to go crazy with hacking, jumping, evading, chain it all together and absolutely wreck the enemies.

It was a slow paced dance of running to a corner, then begin hacking before enemy catches up.

How is the final game? Does it have upgrades that make it more snappy?

Am liking some stuff from what I am seeing. But demo didn't made me run out and buy it.

Combat gets crazy good with updates later on

holy shit the feedback and hitstop from shooting enemies in this game

what is this sorcery

Grabbed it. Dude said they had received it on the 14th and whoever was working earlier just never put it out. So he had to check the back after some convincing that it might be there due to their inventory suggesting it.

I'm not sure if this is the company but it's mostly a people issue. You got to hate when any place has stuff like this happen and because they put the box somewhere or somebody got careless then you have a situation where you have something that could be sold and bought sitting in the back instead of the customer being able to buy. To the point where it almost affects their inventory and I've seen it in cases where they can't find the product and they have to zero the inventory out and get more product when they have product already in hand. Comes down to probably some human error here when the consumer just wants to come in and buy a cool game they hear about on a whim

4 hours in, defeated the 2nd boss (was fucking great), did some backtracking with more upgrades and did all the available training sims. Got first area to 100%. Need something else to 100% 2nd area. just started the next area.

Amazon fucked up my order, they sent me a pack of straws and now I have to wait to return it before I get my money back and no they didn't offer a replacement, in fact they didn't even have it in stock 🙄

As expected, Amazon failed to deliver on release day yet again.

This time I got the "we attempted delivery today" bullshit.

That sucks to hear, wow. Hopefully never again with them!

If you hate VIDEO GAMES ( yes in all caps) that plays incredibly well then go for the skip

Just gotta ignore those drive-by's!

So after waking up this morning I noticed a notification from Amazon.

It was to inform me a refund had been issued for my copy of Pragmata. I guess it was lost lol.

Ordering again and now expecting on Tuesday.

Played about 5 hours today. Visuals are stunning, it's insane how clean the game looks. I'm playing at 1440p with everything set to max, but with DLSS set to balanced and frame gen (I know it's unpopular, but I can't see or feel any difference tbh). Only thing bugging me visually is Diana's hair every now and again. There are some odd visual artifacts in her hair in very specific cutscenes, but they're not there all the time, which is weird. Also the movement of the hair is still something games need to work on, but that's really a minor complaint.

I love Diana and Hugh, the gameplay is even better than it was in the demo and the second boss fight was very impressive. Cleaned up the first area and will do the same with the second one now, before going to the third area.

I hope the game keeps up this level of quality. The story is interesting, but so far I'm not really sure where it's going. I really love this game so far, glad I got it day one!

I'm obsessed. I've been up all night. I blame Pragmata! This feels like an old school game when it tried something new. Excellent. If capgod revives dd2 then it is the best run company on earth.

Even if you don't, at this point, the journey was worth it. It's been fun. It's been interesting. And it's been fresh. They'll make the game better overtime, and they'll make it better in the sequel, but this is a huge huge win, and I'm proud to be part of it with everyone!!!! Capcom is good!!!!!

It has a 93.85 on Steam! I bet game sells really well on consoles too.

Cant stopping taking screans, what kind of magic is this. The animations, the hairs, the crunchy gameplay and feedback. Bravo capcom. When the second area opens up, wowser.

3rd boss finally made me die for the first time. So much going on while hacking everything. What a fight and what a game! Those training sims can put up a good fun challenge, too.

That sucks man, hope they deliver a new copy soon. I assume it got "lost" and not lost.

I reckon Capcom swapped the weapons cross ( + ) and health HUD layout from Resident Evil just to be different but it's less intuitive. Weapons are on the dpad so should be on left of the screen, hacking UI's on the right and face buttons are on the right.

But hacking might've felt more natural if they'd put it on the dpad to start with.

Holly shit! the combat is opening so much with new ability and gears.......and people thought the game gonna simplistic based on the demo.

Also VERY impressed with the enemy designs and variety, you are facing different enemies which each they their own attack pattern and hacking grid and you have to make decision who you go after first and what ability to use.

But hacking might've felt more natural if they'd put it on the dpad to start with.
I disagree with that at first it might felt weird but face button for hacking feel way more natural to me.
