Super advanced seven foot tall alien predator verses small girl with bow.
Super advanced biological alien weapon versus skinny girl holding a cat.
Alien would never survive the 2021 internet.
Its ok, they will make her have zero imperfections, she will be the greatest fighter in the world out of the boxSuper advanced seven foot tall alien predator verses small girl with bow.
She should be a grease stain against a tree within seconds.
The Predator franchise contains no me and a half good movies. I don’t expect this to change with a stunning and brave Disney movie.
Oh she gonna be the super badass, you wait. Current year.Interesting concept, but the Predator is very selective with their Hunts.
They only go after the strong and ignore everyone else, having a weapon will get you killed especially if you engaged but they do look for a physically large prey Skull as a trophy and kill armed and ignore the rest.
But that looks like a little girl in that poster...
Not saying she isn't a worthy opponent for the Predator, just that he'll likely just kill her and walk away because she's too small of trophy.

That premise sounds kind of amazing actually. Cautiously hyped.

This has the potential to be the best since the OG.
Fantastic director, lead actress, and team behind it.
They're also saying it's more "1988" than new-era style. Hoping for good things.
There hasn't been a Predator film as good as the original. Predator 2 was average. Predators was awful and The Predator was absolute dog shit.
I have very low expectations for this one.
The Predator wasn't anywhere near as bad as AvP 2... tbh I kind of enjoyed it even if it was over the top.Weren't people hyped about Shane Black directing (and writing) The Predator? And look how that turned out - absolute garbage that was even more offensive to watch than AvP flicks.
Arnold killed the Predator with no weapons left except his wits.
This is a really dumb take.
No human being can go toe-to-toe with a Predator, full-stop (and no Danny Glover fighting a massively wounded Predator and getting lucky doesn't count).
Also one of the best Predator stories is a tiny Asian girl teaming up with a Predator to fight off a planet overrun with Aliens... and she ends up joining their tribe and defeating a few 1v1 once she learns their techniques (and has their tech).
So this is Trachtenberg's rumored movie "Skulls"? Only on Hulu? No cinema release? Fucking lame!
Trachtenberg is a good director, but I'm still pessimistic. After Shane Black - whom many thought to be the one who would finally be able to produce a good Predator movie -, I'm really not sure.
It's really a shame how badly the Predator franchise has been treated over the decades. It has so much potential...
I was super optimistic about this film because of Dan Trachtenberg but now that it is releasing directly on digital, I have zero faith and am quite worried.
I actually felt bad for that one regular predator getting ripped apart by the super predator, lol.The Predator wasn't anywhere near as bad as AvP 2... tbh I kind of enjoyed it even if it was over the top.
My guess on why no theatrical release is 3fold
1) For the most part 20th Century movies have not done well theatrically since Disney bought it.
2) That is double true for Predator movies, and they have mostly sucked and done bad at the BO
3) Disney/20th Century might lose the rights to the Predator IP and this might be the last product they release unless they give Jim and John Thomas some hush money
I still wish that this film wasn't leaked as a Predator film. Could have been a great "Split" like moment if it was only revealed in cinema what it really was.
I enjoyed Predators and The Predator but even I can admit 20th Century don't seem to know how ow to treat the franchise. I was hoping that under new ownership they might be about to set the correct course and improve upon the franchise. Throwing it on Hulu feels like they are choping the budget and it won't reach it's full potential.
The main issue with every single Predator sequel, and the reason why the franchise has been so poor, is because every subsequent film fails to understand why the first one was so successful.
The Predator only works when it’s up against the right protagonist. Nobody loved that first movie because it was an action horror film about an alien monster in a jungle. They loved it because it was an alien monster in a jungle up against the biggest and most popular movie star in the world. Arnold made that film what it was.
Yes, the Predator is a fantastic creature design, but it’s not really that complex or that interesting as a character. If it’s not set against the right enemy, it fails.
If they truly wanted to make a commercially successful Predator film again, they’d put it up against somebody like The Rock. And return to the gore and the visceral violence of the first film… which is also an aspect that’s vital for a film about a merciless alien hunter that the audience is supposed to be in awe of.
None of that will happen because they still think that Predator was popular just because of the Predator.

Director and Amber say.
Different strokes, I’d be bored if a Predator sequel desperately tried to be like the first one again in that regard especially if they made it so obvious by casting Dwayne Johnson (and geezus, if they got him you know it’d be in a jungle, LOL).
A big part of what made Predator great for me was this alien presence being shoved into an unrelated story. A team of elite soldiers dealing with some insurgents, could have easily been a whole movie by itself, but then BAM a fucking alien says hello. In 2, you’ve got a huge war between cops and gangs, again could’ve been the movie right there, but BAM aliens! The two sequels messed up this aspect as the Predators are crucial to both stories immediately, but I think 3 is just mid with some occasional cool moments and I do like 4 for just being fun.
I also appreciate the different types of character groups. 1 had elite mercs. 2 had a team of ordinary cops. 3 did have elite soldiers as well but they didn’t know each other and were often at odds with one another. 4 had a decent soldier finding himself forced to work with a bunch of mentally unstable soldiers. I would want more sequels to keep things fresh that way, not just cast the most badass actor hot on the market right now which immediately screams to me, “oh, we’re just doing the first film again, *yawn*”
I prey not.Do you think they'll give it a sequel?
