I got 2/5 two years in a row.

So here goes for my 2025 list. I'm sure there will be several games that have unknown release dates that come out in 2025 that are great like Earthblade by the Celeste team or something. Or games we never even heard of yet that pop up that end up being great. But for the games that are likely or confirmed for 2025 so far...

Metroid Prime 4 - I'm pretty confident this will be my GOTY in 2025
Ghost of Yotei
Hollow Knight: Silksong - don't do me dirty again. 2025 must be the year.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
GTA 6

I would've put Suikoden 1/2 remastered on here, but just like in 2024, I'm leaving them out since they're just remasters and I know what they are already. I was hoping for more RPGs, but I don't see a ton on the docket yet honestly. Maybe more will pop up in the coming months with official release dates and/or reveals.

For 2025:

Pathologic 3 will be my favorite game of the year. Death Stranding 2, Pirate Yakuza, Mario Kart 9 (what I think the Switch 2 will launch with), and Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta would be my other predictions.

Last year I guessed Infinite Wealth, Unicorn Overlord, Rebirth, Dragons Dogma 2 and Silksong.
The first the 3 did hit the spot, haven't played DD2 yet and Silksong didn't come out.

For 2025 I'll say
- Silksong (this year for sure guys...I know it. As they say, 8th time's a charm)
- Doom: The Dark Ages
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- No Rest for the Wicked (if it comes out of early access)
- Hades 2 (if it comes out of early access)

Watching the live streams and the stuff they put out, intrigued by the changes to the mixing of different civs with ages, and even the looks of those developed cities I am super hyped, pre-ordered the founders edition and definitely planning to invest a lot of time into this! So clear top game for me so far.

Oh and yes, that Civ 4 theme is the best!!

These are all games I'm really looking forward to and could surprise in top 10 hopefully. They all have at least 1 thing I'm unsure of or they are just kind of formulaic sequels that will be fun but not top picks for me.

Doom, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Eternal Strands, Stone of Madness, Monster Hunter Wilds, Clair Obscur, The Alters, Ghost of Yotei, Metroid Prime 4, Mixtape, Hades 2, Wuchang, GTA VI, Replaced, Hyper Light Breaker, Nintendo 1st party Switch 2 games.

I have 4% confidence in this list. It'll likely change a ton. I could easily see Avowed and South of Midnight being top 10 but really will be a struggle to hold in top 5. I'm voting in Avowed because it looks fun, and I was so satisfied with Pentiment which took GOTY for me. They have a shot at top 5. South of Midnight looks extremely original and I like the art style, but the gameplay is a giant question mark still. Could just be a 7/10. Compulsion has never made a great game. Both look pretty original so who knows. Fable is also honestly still a mystery as well. Could just be an 8/10 with weird British humor. Just unknown right now. Possessors has possibly the coolest art style I've seen in a while but remains to be seen if they can do something great with 2D gameplay like that. Citizen Sleeper 2 was a masterpiece so I'm taking a chance on that pick in the hopes this one is maybe even slightly better. Who knows. They haven't shown much.

I'm sure so much new stuff will get announced that my list will be very different. If Nintendo launches anything big it'll likely be top 5. Metroid Prime 4 honestly hasn't impressed me yet but I'm sure stuff like Mario or Mario Kart will.

5) Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta - waited 20 years for a PC port of the original, only for a remake to get announced..oh well
