Preorder Quantum Break for Xbox One, Get Windows 10 version for free - also HW specs

Xbox achievements are probably cross platform as you also share save states between platforms.

I would say that would be the case, but that is usually only for games that are crossbuy.

Wait, so physical copy preorders don't also get the Windows version?

Why???

Yeah, they do.

EDIT: Oh shit, sorry. I saw the retailer thing but that appears to be only for buying the digital version at retail. Weird.

Sucks that according to that statement I won't be getting the W10 version if I pre-order through Microsoftstore.com. I like me a physical copy instead of the exclusives.

how does the recommended cpu compared to my overclocked 2500k at 4.5ghz? If i have the recommended gfx card with it.

I feel the title should modified to reflect the fact that this only works for digital preorders. You don't get the PC version if you preorder a physical copy.

Why won't they just link it to the account? this will just means most on W10 will buy the game for cheap from XB buyers instead of paying 60$ for it.

I believe MS hasn't merged the Xbox one store with the Windows Store yet...and that's coming with Windows 10 Redstone release (think June). Once that happens, we shouldn't have to do the redeem code.

Remedy plsssssss include a 30fps lock with proper framepacing. I'm completely sure I'll need it.

Unless it also comes out on Steam, then fuck it, I can just use RTSS.

There's that word again, heavy.

“Quantum Break” will support shared saves between the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions. Oh my God I cannot believe this is happening. There have been so many games such as GTA 5 where I wish I could have continued my Xbox One save on pc or switch between them as per my convenience.Really great stuff.

Tomb Raider is far more graphically demanding than anything going on in QB surely? It's a massive open world game.

TR is not massive open world. It has one hub that is 500m x 500m. We don't know anything about how big or small levels in QB are going to be.

All according to Keikaku...

I absolutely think that MS is either done with consoles after the XB1, or that the next Xbox will be the branding of a well designed (for a balance power/ price at no more than $499) HTPC done in collaboration with known manufacturers (like Alienware, Dell or others), as I've said for a while now. I would also not be surprised if said "family" of HTPCs has declinations of price and power, the cheapest model(s) being the one sold at retail under the Xbox brand.
XboxOne branded games from MS Studios will probably be actually Win10 games, and if MS is serious about it, that could mean the (big) return of PC games at physical retail space (I mean beside the anemic MMO/ Sim/ puzzles space you can find right now). That is unless they do the push to go all digital next gen, of course.

The big question though, hopefully clarified soon, is the future of XboxLive (paying to play online) and the Windows store on PC, and what it means for existing outlets (Steam, GoG...)

FX6300 as minimum eh? That's odd, it's done a much better job than the consoles in DX11 already. DX12 not to be the massive upgrade I thought then :P

I feel many poeple really misunderstood this whole "DirectX 12 should lower PC specs" thing.

The whole idea of a low-level PC API is that developers can bring over more effects from console and generally do more with the PC hardware.

There are no other examples of a DirectX 12 game (of this scale at least), so you don't know what the performance and graphics quality should be. It's a blank slate.

And even if Rise of the Tomb Raider gets a DX12 patch and we can compare that with the DX11 version, it won't tell us too much, because the engines renderer needs to be completely, structurally built from almost the ground up for it to be optimal for DX12.

Because if its digital then they get 100% profit compared to retail where they have to lose some % to retailers, packing etc.,

Nice move by MS. I might consider buying this game for PC if I like this game. Really appreciate MS support to PC and they should turn next Xbox into a full fledged Windows PC so they can have best of both worlds using their storefront.

I really hope they go this way and its better for them.

Great @ the 980ti recommended spec. Push those graphics, make em sweat.

"wha, wha, i payed 600€ for a card, i should be able to play everything at max settings 60fps, wha wha" - no you baby. Since when is this a thing? I can´t remember reading that stuff when Crysis came out? "Max settings" is meaningless if you don´t know what those settings are doing.

Holy shit yes, will defo buy now. Will play on my Xbox, then on PC a few years later when I build my new PC.

Love cross buy.

Fair enough, I was judging on what we have seen of the alleged Xbox One version so far. To me, the specs seem super excessive, considering the game was designed to be played on a potato-powered console in the first place. I know it's not as easy as just comparing specs, but you would have thought that it wouldn't take much PC grunt to get the game running at X1 quality levels.

Recommended specs shouldn't even be something that exists in this day and age. Why should the recommended experience be anything but the best hardware on the market? You might be able to get 1080p/60 fps at max settings with a 970. But that's hardly the best you can get. There is always higher framerate, downsampling or even playing natively at a higher resolution. There is always a better experience to get. 1080p is hardly high end anymore. Not even close.

Then there is the fact that "recommended" is completely arbitrary and means absolutely nothing by itself. At least required is something you can assume means a playable experience with the lowest settings.

Goddamn at those recommended specs :|

Hoping to max it out at 30fps with a 970OC tbh, if not i'll stick to X1 only i guess

Truly, the X1 is equivalent to a $2500 PC.

Pretty simple, if you got PC version with boxed copy, you could preorder the XBox One game, use the PC code, return the Boxed copy one game, get PC game for free.
