I don't think it's Fanatec's decision to make.
Both companies are pointing fingers at each other when it comes to providing wheel support. It sounds like they just need to get together and talk it out.

I still need to play this.![]()
Shaun and Darin had, whatever they were, issues with each other. Hence we now have two different sim racing shows, so yes he left ISR.Nice. First look at night racing on the PS4 version too.
Has Shaun left ISR then?

Also it is amazing the difference the videos from day 2 our compared to day 1, when they used to completely borked "world movement" settings and that weird "camera shake". Day 2 people were actually able to control the car a little, day one they were all over the place (with out sound it is probably still hard to know the limit of your car/tire)

Darin posted his video impresssions yesterday as well. Didn't see it posted here, I'm sure some of you have already seen it.

I have to say, this is the most anticipated title for me, hands down. I just traded in the 360 last week and got a ps4. Sad to trade in Shift 1 and FRL, still played those a ton, all while dreaming of playing pCARS on console. Love the cockpit and lighting in SMS games.
Say what you will of the physics of the Shift games, but no other dev nailed the intensity of being in a race car like they did IMO.
I'm glad to hear these guy's reports of how the game is shaping up. Love that Darin stated flat out, pCARS is not another Shift type game, it's a sim.

Yup. The first Grid was pretty good, too. To a lesser extent PGR4 had a good in-car view that shook around enough, but there wasn't really any post-processing effects beyond that to speak of. Don't mind if a game is "Hollywooded" up a little for the sake of some excitement, as long as it's not to the detriment of the handling or overall experience.*brofist*

Still thrilling playing Shift 2 on the 360 - there's a dirty rawness that it captures superbly. You can almost smell the track.

Christ, I hope that carries over to pCARS. I'll either buy a ps4 or pc for this game if it delivers on its promise.

yes! Not only that but great track variety
Agree, best "feature" in Shift. Some tracks in pCARS are already pretty close to this feeling, for example Brands Hatch, Moravia and the latest version of Oulton Park.
Also the Marek prototype gives a great sensation of speed and rumbling![]()

Thanks for your videos, Adrián, much appreciated.Gameplay in the Azure Coast track (stage 3), with the wet asphalt, and from the onboard camera of the Ariel Atom Mugen.

Shift 1 was insane. The head/camera movement is sorely missing in pcars
I've got it set to helmet view with all the head movements set to full and the helmet texture off but it doesn't even come close to this.

What nature of a beast-rig do you need to handle everything this game can throw your way at 1080p/60?
Thanks. i5 2500K 4.5 Ghz | 8 GB RAM | GTX 780. I get stable 60 fps maxed out (without insane AA) in 1440p with clear weather. Some tracks with a lot of stuff around are a noticeable hit, but i think the performance is reasonable for alpha.Beautiful.
What are your pc specs?

No micro transaction, DLC (and other support) planned (cars+tracks integrated in to the carreer), but don't expect a small team to put out the same amount as bigger teams. What's the word on micro transactions for this game? I haven't been able to stand Microsoft and Sony's current offerings as both Forza and Gran Turismo continue to feature both micro transactions and excessive DLC. It'd be nice to get a console racer that doesn't have all that again, does anyone know what the devs are planning or if they've said anything regarding this game?
Not tried it for pCARS, but it is supported and it does work the same way it does in all other sims. You need to get used to it a little but it really helps with your peripheral vision (glance left/right + mirrors)Anyone tried TrackIR with pCARS yet?
Thoughts?
Missed this. So good.Project CARS gameplay giving a lap at Circuit de la Sarthe, where has run, the last weekend, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The video is with the Audi R18 TDI from the third-person camera.

re: DLC and the like, do we know if there are going to be officially supported track conversion tools? The PC sim racing community has created a, uh, I think the proper term is "metric assload" of tracks over the years, and while most of them aren't up to snuff graphically, it would be pretty cool to drag over the old favorites from NR2003 and race them here...
I've just gotten a 780 Ti Classified and damn Azure Coast in the wet with pouring rain tanks my fps to around high 20's low 30's. Settings are all max with AA set to DS2X. Gonna do more testing.
I have an i7 2600k @ stock and 16 GB memory.
You're effectively rendering a 5120*2880 image here though. No matter how much rendering power you throw at it, that's a lot to ask of a 3GB VRAM card(s).
Every time this thread gets bumped I'm hoping it's because they announced its on steam early access
It will not happen, so get used to be disappointed until november.Every time this thread gets bumped I'm hoping it's because they announced its on steam early access, and the disappointment continues
99,9% footage shown from this game is PC. Only footage from PS4 is the offscreen footage recorded at E3. No Xbox or WiiU footage yet.Just curious, has there been any Xbox One forage of this game or is it all PS4?
Have SMS hinted that this could happen?
