Project Hail Mary - Ryan Gosling Film

AJUMP23

Parody of actual AJUMP23

based on Andy Weir's New York Times best-selling novel, starring Academy Award® nominee Ryan Gosling, and directed by Academy Award® winning filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Only in theaters and IMAX - 3.20.26

Looks cool. Probably reveals too much.

I don't read as much as I should but I actually read PHM late last year. It was a great book. Very easy read with a slew of memorable moments. I'm definitely seeing the movie but I kinda wish they didn't tease Rocky in the trailer.

The Martian was well done and that gives me hope for not too many changes to book

I also liked that for once. in the Martian. There wasn't really an evil character, or enemy figure. So hope is high for not much C-suite messing around by Hollywood 🤞. Since that movie was pretty much judged to be a roaring success and a return for Ridley scott to form, at sci-fi. (

Well there is the rambling shambles of his alien prequels 😬😩)

Haven't read the book, but I did enjoy The Martian and Artemis, so I probably should. Trailer for this looks pretty great!

ok, anyone even remotely interested in this, DONT WATCH THE DAMN TRAILER, talk about spoilers. What is it with people making trailers these days that the have to compress the whole movie into around 1-2 minutes so you dont need to go and see it (it looked really cool, dont get me wrong)

DUUUUUUUDE! welcome to some sleepless nights…couldn't put the book down and the audible version is narrated wonderfully.

Also the climate change comment is a moron who has no idea what the story is about.
My wife even read the book (a huge Scifi hater) because of how glowing I was about it, and she absolutely loved it and could not put it down.

I enjoyed the Martian, bounced off Artemis a bit, but apparently bought PHM on kindle but haven't read it. Will fix that pronto. But shouldn't Lord and Miller be finishing Spiderverse 3? WTF happened with that?

And I soooooo wanna see their version of Solo. Lucasarts really needs to cobble it together or finish it like the JLA snydercut.

My wife trying to explain some romance book to me is intolerable. Her trying to get me into bridgerton was even worse, but at least there were tits from time to time on that show.
Oh I've had to read A Court of Thorns and Roses... Basically beauty and the beast meets a weirdly long porno, i feel you.

Looks solid though the trailer shows far too much

Agreed

Rocky shouldn't even be hinted at in the trailer. When I read the book, all I knew was that an astronaut woke up on a space ship with no memory of how he got there. That's it. The Rocky reveal blew my mind. At least the trailer didn't explain the astrophage, or hint at the ending

I've read the spoilers online and if that ruins the movie it sounds like it's not even worth watching in the first place.. That being said, I feel like there's a lot more to this movie than this socalled twist, which it sounds like it's revealed in the beginning of the book anyways?

I don't watch movies anymore, but Ryan Gosling looks like this guy... no. John Black Ops is way cooler... He's like one of those black whoppers they had at Burger King Japan, with fruit punch

They cannot f'ing help it with trailers they just cannot 😂. Still the pleasure in the story is how the plot develops rather than just the plot itself.

This is not a movie that they can do justice to with a short runtime, I hope it has been given space to breathe and I already anticipate the extended edition of it 😂.

The book is perhaps the best one Weir has written (Artemis was pretty good too, enjoyed it a lot with Rosario Dawson doing the audio book narration).

No, it is not revealed at the beginning of the book,m. The way the book is written it is enjoyable even if you know the whole story though as characters and how they develop (their personalities too) are given time to breathe and unveil themselves.

You are a fucking idiot. The book has nothing to do with climate change.
Ironically yes, yes it does as they are forced to go the opposite direction of today's Net Zero goals pretty heavily… for reasons that should be obvious in the story.
